This mini Land Cruiser needs the 203 hp 2.5 engine we currently see in the RAV4 and Camry as the 2.0 engine from the Corolla Cross simply lacks the power to move a small body-on-frame SUV. A 2 speed transfer case, locking rear differential and 6 speed manual would make that drivetrain sufficiently powerful, highly efficient and capable of a 3,500 towing capacity. To maximize interior cargo capacity, a forward-folding front passenger seat as we used to see with the Matrix will aid greatly. If it is affordably priced below the base Wrangler and Bronco, Toyota will have a real winner.
It looks like a mini FJ crusier and on that note I wish they would bring the FJ crusier back I had 2 FJ crusier wish I still had one today loved them both
I think this vehicle is a cool concept and will probably be a better product than the "Land Cruiser" that is coming back to the US market. I'm sure anyone that's owned and utilized the previous models is disappointed with being sold a hybrid Prado. I appreciate this having a new name and platform apposed to being called something with a heritage that the new LC doesn't have, it's like the offshoot stepson that's always been paying video games of MWF whereas the LC is the actual soldier.
I have owned three Toyotas, I refuse to be loyal to any brand, im very disappointed in Toyotas lineup… they don’t have anything to compete with the Jeep rubicon or the Jeep gladiator rubicon or the ford raptor… if you think it has competition you aren’t a serious gear head, and I almost bought a new 2022 trd pro but was very disappointed that the pro package, to make it capable off road it would require taller tires, lower gear ratio a long travel suspension… let’s net forget about the $12,000. Pro package, now add another $12,000. Min…..

A Jimny has a 1.5L engine produce 105hp I heard the Land Hopper came with two engines option the proven 2.7L inline 4 and 1.4 Turbo Diedel in Southeast Asia if it does with a slightly higher price it will definitely kill the Jimny

I bought my FJ for 29k over 8 years ago. Today they are selling used FJ's for 20k.
