I didn't think that I could love Ellen more... but the fact that she went vegan is awesome! Of course, it's a little more difficult to be vegan in some places in the world but she understands it! For most people (who aren't far from a grocery store or two), going vegan can be very affordable and can be great for your health.
I think it’s also quite weird for her to say that as a millionaire. Like even if it is true, she just does not have to look at a difference of like a dollar in her daily food because she has the money
@@hannahb.4329 sha hasn't been a millionaire her whole life. In fact for the biggest part of her life she barely made ends meet. So it's not like she doesn't know what it feels like to not be rich. It is more expensive to not be vegan. I'm not a vegan, but my roomate is, she spends incredibly less money on groceries and food than I do
It’s hard. I have bad arthritis and I am sensitive to certain foods like certain fruits and vegetables and other things that will make me sick and flare so bad I can barely walk. Meat is something that doesn’t make me flare. I have tried alternatives before yet but she is right in the way that we need to take care of ourselves and I take care of myself by eating certain meats but certain meats I try not to eat.
I live vegan, even raw vegan on a strict budget. vegan doesn´t have to be expensive, unless you eat industrial mock meat, mock cheese, vegan mayonnaise and stuff, which are junk foods anyway and should be eaten sparingly. I can´t afford organic, and I eat mostly apples, bananas, carrots, cabbages, lettuce and very rarely aspargus and strawberries, but it´s doable. Have you watched episodes of "eat yourself sexy"? The first edition was British, then they did one season in Australia. Many participants were actually saving money by switching or in worst case staying by the same budget. Yes, sorry, but saying being poor is an excuse to eat unhealthy foods or not going vegetarian or vegan is an excuse. The only honest excuse is "I don´t want to". I´ve lived far under poverty tresholds at one point in my life, wasn´t vegetarian or vegan yet, but ate rarely meat, and still was able to eat healthy foods everyday. Yes, there are obviously situations in second/third world countries where being vegan or vegetarian isn´t possible, but I don´t think she´s talking about those people. Also, I was told by a Brazilian that many poor people in Brazil are more or less forced to eat vegan most of the time because rice , beans, potatoes and some vegetables are way cheaper than meat.
@@charlottemadadi Have you ever lived in a third world country? I live in Mexico. Vegetarian is doable, but the point is 3 billion people in this world can't afford to eat more than a basic starch, not everyone can afford to choose what they eat, and Pompeo really can't talk about what is affordable, she lives on another planet to the vast majority of people.
@@journalistTamaraPearson Well I said second world country, not third world country...and I mentioned situations making it impossible to be vegan or vegetarian. My husband comes from Iran, a second world country, there meat is expensive, it is cheaper to be vegan or vegetarian... But yes, third world countries are another story, and once again, I don´t think she speaks of those people. My mom was a foster mom and had 3 teen girls from congo and yes, there it is about getting most calories with least food and so it´s cheaper for them to eat corned beef with lot of oil and some mais starches concoction than with fruits and vegs. They´ll eat what they find, even crocodiles, bats... But if you knew how many Americans/European (often fat activists) try to convince everyone that poverty causes obesity, and not poor food choices, that fruits and vegs are expensiver than junk, in their case, that´s an excuse.. Yes, there is more obesity in poorer demographic within Europe/USA, but that doesn´t obligatory means that healthy food is more expensive.

The way she explained everything was just so inspiring. She put her heart into it. I wanna go Vegan

It’s not the fact it’s “ expensive “ it’s just the fact that I couldn’t stick at it 😂😂

Awesome! Vegan food is not expensive! Common people can afford it.

Love that she's plant based
i've been wanting to go vegan since I was around 8 or 9 but it's tricky because I have tree nut allergies
