My grandfather came to Delhi from Uttarakhand _pauri (nawan)…… Pauri Garhwal one of the worst migrated region in Uttarakhand,,,,,, now only one family of 2 members left in the village ,,,,whole village is turned into ghost village,, they all have their own helplessness and need including us….. We can’t criticize people ,the main culprit is govt…….there is no education,,medical and employment facility …. Now govt comes up with some helpful schemes but it’s kinda late anyways hope for a better tomorrow … So many people can say big things but we have to be practical and it’s sad but it’s true…… A famous line by a pahadi writer “ सड़क तुम अब आयी हो गाँव, जब सारा गाँव शहर जा चुका है ।
This is a story almost in every rural part of India. We saw entire towns in Chettinad empty and most of them have migrated abroad. I shudder to think what will happen to our lived traditions. And I know most people to be not happy in cities. Very good documentation!
I'm originally from Uttarakhand,,, a small beautiful village in pauri Garhwal.. My grandfather moved Delhi in search of good education n employment.. and from onwards we are here in Delhi but somewhere deep down inside our heart beats for Uttarakhand and we always make sure to go in village 2-3 times every year..... Some woke people criticize our old generation for migration but I don't think like that..... situations were very poor those days.... no education ,no hospitals , no roads , no EMPLOYment,etc....I respect my grandfather decision.....instead of cribbing about what they did,,,,we should start thinking about what we can do ..... so make sure do regular visit to your hometown as much as possible,,,,, generate awareness ,,,employment,,,etc by any means.............. Iam from Kerala, my dad was in the defence forces, which made us go all over India, and it was good. But my parents took us to Kerala almost every year, which made us get close to our place, roots, language etc. Iam so thankful for that. Now in Kerala, I feel totally at home. Only sadness is my kid doesn't speak Malayalam inspite of my best efforts (but I get all the blame).
With kids it's practically impossible to teach them local language if you husband and wife don't use it for all communication. But in today's world it's very common to find husband and wife from different mother language so it becomes difficult to teach kids all three languages
@@rapiddu6482 but it's easy to force hindi upon south Indians even if we don't need it. Don't say ur not, govt. Is by effectively running parliament, banks and schemes, airports. I ain't complaining, just letting u know how much we are suffering because of the burden of 3 language policy
@12:05 The quote on his upper clearly said it, "Get over it". Personally for me, moving from Manali, Himachal Pradesh to Toronto has been quite overwhelming. I am still trying to get over it. Maybe I never will. Despite the better living conditions I still miss my hometown especially because of our culture: our devis and devtas, folklore, kathkuni houses, music, dance, and traditional and healthy food. People in the west talk a lot about the sustainability concepts which was already present in our culture. Living in harmony with nature, being part of the eco-system, understanding the weather patterns, mixed cropping, and using rare Himalayan herbs to treat life style disease and mental health issues. As a person with ADHD, one side of me wants to make money where there are better jobs, but a part of me will forever be where I came from. 🌄
Run after money is endless. India is the mother of spirituality. Only a spiritual attitude to life can bring deep, long-lasting peace. You can make money back in India also now. We are the 5th lassgest economy in the world. Anyway whatever you do, make sure your come back home every year so that you and your kids are connected and can appreciate whats the real meaning of life.
I'm from Uttarakhand, people of uttrakhand wanted a hill state and they got hill Plus planes , and thus hill remain underdeveloped and ignored.its so saddening to see whole culture of thousand of Years is on verge of extinction.
This is because people here are fools. They never demand jobs, development from politicans. And stop this glorification of villages which is the main reason for unemployment and underdevelopment in Uttrakhand.

I am from West Nepal, my maternal side our from Uttarakhand, the migration of hill folks is a sad thing to hear about. I studied at Simla Himachal Pradesh but the problem of migration is not in that hill state. I think so it's due to better financial support in Himachal like horticulture, tourism etc. Earlier under UP Kumaon and Gharwal were ignored and now the new state governments are also not doing much
Such a valuable contribution! I migrated from a big city in South East Asia where I was born and raised via the USA to a little rural village in Europe some 30 years ago. The transition was painful initially. It took a gradual revamping of my inner values to accept the change. Now I'm self-sufficient in more ways than I would ever have been, had I remained in the city enjoying the instant gratifications that it provided. The practical knowledge I've acquired in the process of living off the land is not in the least comparable to the higher education I received in the US which limited me to one specialized field while ignorant of survival in nature. This includes food production, preservation, medicine, health care, and more specifically the spiritual dependency of nature (people included) on her creator.
Very nice documentary, my ancestors 150 yrs ago migrated to Mumbai from Gujarat. 2yrs ago my husband had a business opportunity and we shifted to a small sleepy town of Gujarat. Slowly I realised how much our previous generations and ours had lost our roots. It was a divine plan to come here and have had realised all that. But transition isn't easy, when u have several generations before u who have been born and brought up in a metro city and then a sudden move to a small town. But it helped a lot, as I connected with my roots here. But in our next generation 90% is going to Canada/US.
Awareness of the aftermath of migration is very well depicted in your video. In many countries in Europe people are coming back and restoring the old homes with modern amenities and trying to live a second life after escaping from the cities. This is hopeful and if the government takes an interest in providing the basic amenities then maybe in India too this will happen. So the mindset needs to change. Thanks for this wonderful video
Great job again brother. So sharing a bit of my personal story. I was born and brought up and still living and working for living in New Delhi. But my parents are from a sub town called Katwa in West Bengal and they migrated to Delhi to make a living. Though I do go there once in a year and have been going since childhood, when you go to such sub or small town and villeges you actually understand the difference. Difference in compact building and open nature, difference in standard of living, how every job matters be it cycling a rickshaw or selling fruties on street to being a part of a well corporate job. I do have decided one thing and thats what I have planned for future as well. You want to earn money and make a living and safe for future? Live in big cities. You have enough money now that you can utilize property to live rest of your life without a worry? Migrate to a sub town or Village or some place full of nature, open, less populated place. Where you can actually realize every breath you take in with pure oxygen. ❤❤❤❤

This video made me emotional. I'm from South India and my ancestors are from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. From last three generations we have been staying in Hyderabad. I have only heard stories of my grandmother's natives and visited them as a tourist. The subject that you mentioned about roots, is absolutely absent for me. 😑
I m originally from pithoragarh uttarakhand..my father left home to find job and served at harayana govt..that's how lakhs of PPL migrate from uttarakhand and never come back as they make their living in job place..but i m happy that my father came back to uttarakhand and we are here in uttarakhand..but most come to haldwani or doon or some plains areas as everyone wants medical and education for children.... our ancestoral home is still empty and we just go their in a year.sad but truth of each migrated uttarakhandi...

You are wrong. Migration out of villages is a good thing. You are all getting it wrong. You can always visit the green places and enjoy the peace. Development is total disaster But govt shud support people with subsidized housing for migrants. Like China did for 20 years 40 crore ppl were resettled.

This video is technically very well done. The music and the editing is crisp, quite professional. The videography is also up to the mark, I really enjoyed some of the special effects. It's not as easy as it looks and many viewers miss the small little nuances, that the film-maker transfers from his mind to the screen. So, very well done. Now about the subject... Many of those who move from the hills or smaller towns to bigger busier cities, think, alone what can they do. Don't despair, do whatever you can do, even if it's a single effort. Go for a week and teach in the village, volunteer to teach what you are best in. If you have a little finance, try building a wall or a roof of the school, assemble a PC and gift it, if u are a doctor, offer a free medical check up and distribute prescribed medicines. Keep it simple, do what you can do. Maybe you can take a group of friends and stay a few nights, thus provide work and earnings to the villagers staying back. Even if 1% of the viewers think and take action, the soul will return to these ghost villages. All the best and take care everyone.

We have fertile land and lots of water.. we can grow anything like apples kiwi exotic veggies.. But without roads nothing is possible..You will not see any gosht village in Himachal.. because they have good roads that's why they're growing apple and running homestay..

Wow, pinches the little hidden corner of one's heart! I moved to bigger cities 12-15 years back due to work opportunities but always loved to spend time in my small hometown. After this pandemic, the WFH and other basic necessities have brought me back to my town. I try to spend half of the month in my town and half in the bigger city. I can see the difference and who knows I move back to where I belong sooner than expected.

Dare say, I have travelled a lot - on foot - and the journey to Milam glacier in Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand holds out a charm such as no other! The physical and the scenic aspects of the trek were undoubtedly magnificent, but what was more enduring and poignant were the sights of the abandoned villages and the stories of families that have migrated to the cities.

India needs to celebrate grassroot entrepreneurs to encourage reverse brain drain.

Heart touching account of how our roots are being forgotten! Change is inevitable, but if it is taking us away from our culture, our roots, it is heartbreaking. The current system is completely western! Education , lifestyle, food, everyday products, dressing and what not. There are many factors that we can blame but it is of no help. Glad to see some people trying to change this, if more people realize this and turn to their roots and stand for what holds real value, we can definitely get back to our roots! At least some!
One of the best and soul touching documentary, so far I have seen. My personal view on this story is people who have left this place for a better opportunity and convenience, at least they should create some love and care for the place they were borne and raised, in their children too, who knows one day some of among them may come back and sets new examples, in the lap of nature. Also one thing, you didn't cover the state governments views and plans on this migration, which I would like to know in such future documentaries. Uttarakhand is my heart..I lived there for 15 years due to my father government job..I still miss that place..Kash vha bhi kuch progress ho Healthcare jobs school high education ki suvidha vha p bhi ho to logo ko vo jgh chorni na pde...beauty of Uttarakhand can not forgotten. This is a very nice movie.. lots of tears in my eyes. I left my small village in Goa in 1993 for Dubai. Then went to France, Italy, Qatar, and now I am back to Dubai. It's been 29 years now misses my village a lot and I am going to back to India next year.

I can feel that because the things that happened with these villages is currently happening in my village. Peoples are migrating in cities for better lifestyle and the intresting thing is that some of them are not earning much money they are daily wages labour and their lifestyle becomming worse in the cities.In village they have a nice home field and good persons to talk while in city they have to adjust in one room and they have nothing more than this. But their mindset is that they are living a good life their in cities 😟 this thing that herts me a lot is they are cutting their roots from where they actually originated.
Actually, the migrant labourer migrates not for a better lifestyle. She/he does it because of the lack of basic necessities (like livelihood). They know more than anyone else that the life in the village is much more peaceful. They can feel the tension in the air in the cities, when they come for the first time. They way the world is run, if they don't follow it, it will mean they and their children will get left behind in the so called 'race' to nowhere. They are left with no choice.

Nice info…this film has definitely changed my perspective helped me deciding on what I’m doing right now - sometimes you start and as time goes by things take time to become reality and doubt starts to set in, but this is where one needs to watch and explore the idea that you started out with. Yes it’s going to take time but like a painter you have to go through the processes of acquiring knowledge of how to starch a canvas to applying the colours to creat a painting and that may take a few month or years depending on how one chooses the final painting quality to be.

It is heart wrenching to look at the condition of the state I was born in has been reduced to shambles. Apart from Dehradun, Nainital, Roorkee etc. there is absolutely no amount of support or structure from the state machinery. Private investments are fine, but to what extent?! What about the common denominator? Even the aspect of tourism has not been looked at from a holistic perspective.
I originally came from HariharPur a small village in Allahabad UP to Ghaziabad, UP. I was born and lived some happy years there, but my father had an aspiration to make me a government employee. He migrated in the year of my birth To Ghaziabad and later when I went to 1st Grade he called us as well. Now we have a house in Ghaziabad and we don't go to the village often. Grandparents still live there, they say "किसी को तो गाव में रहकर घर देखना है न, और हम पैदा यही हुए थे तो कहीं और कैसे मरे। " I want to go back to my village but now I am so weirdly mingled in these city chores that I can't untangle myself out of it.

मैं उत्तरकाशी उत्तराखंड से २००७ में माइग्रेट हुआ था रोजगार की तलाश में, लेकिन मैं अब थक चूका हूँ और वापस अपने गाँव जाना चाहता हूँ। इन १५ सालों में मैंने बहुत कुछ खोया बहुत कुछ पाया लेकिन अब मैं थक चूका हूँ। मैंने अपने पिता को २०१५ में खोया तब मैं उनके पास नहीं था इस बात का दुःख मुझे पूरी जिंदगी रहेगा। अब मेरी माँ गाँव में अकेली है और मैं चाहता हूँ की उनकी जिंदगी के आखिरी दिनों में मैं उनके साथ रहूं।

My grandfather came to Delhi from Uttarakhand _pauri (nawan)……
Pauri Garhwal one of the worst migrated region in Uttarakhand,,,,,, now only one family of 2 members left in the village ,,,,whole village is turned into ghost village,, they all have their own helplessness and need including us…..
We can’t criticize people ,the main culprit is govt…….there is no education,,medical and employment facility ….
Now govt comes up with some helpful schemes but it’s kinda late anyways hope for a better tomorrow …
So many people can say big things but we have to be practical and it’s sad but it’s true……

This is a story almost in every rural part of India. We saw entire towns in Chettinad empty and most of them have migrated abroad. I shudder to think what will happen to our lived traditions. And I know most people to be not happy in cities.

I'm originally from Uttarakhand,,, a small beautiful village in pauri Garhwal..
My grandfather moved Delhi in search of good education n employment.. and from onwards we are here in Delhi but somewhere deep down inside our heart beats for Uttarakhand and we always make sure to go in village 2-3 times every year.....
Some woke people criticize our old generation for migration but I don't think like that..... situations were very poor those days.... no education ,no hospitals , no roads , no EMPLOYment,etc....I respect my grandfather decision.....instead of cribbing about what they did,,,,we should start thinking about what we can do ..... so make sure do regular visit to your hometown as much as possible,,,,, generate awareness ,,,employment,,,etc by any means..............
So to all my folks and some woke's,, if we start taking interest today the tomorrow will be better for sure..🙏🏼

Uttarakhand up bihar and haryana mostly migrated to delhi.....
Iam from Kerala, my dad was in the defence forces, which made us go all over India, and it was good. But my parents took us to Kerala almost every year, which made us get close to our place, roots, language etc. Iam so thankful for that. Now in Kerala, I feel totally at home. Only sadness is my kid doesn't speak Malayalam inspite of my best efforts (but I get all the blame).
With kids it's practically impossible to teach them local language if you husband and wife don't use it for all communication. But in today's world it's very common to find husband and wife from different mother language so it becomes difficult to teach kids all three languages
@@rapiddu6482 but it's easy to force hindi upon south Indians even if we don't need it. Don't say ur not, govt. Is by effectively running parliament, banks and schemes, airports.

Personally for me, moving from Manali, Himachal Pradesh to Toronto has been quite overwhelming. I am still trying to get over it. Maybe I never will. Despite the better living conditions I still miss my hometown especially because of our culture: our devis and devtas, folklore, kathkuni houses, music, dance, and traditional and healthy food.
People in the west talk a lot about the sustainability concepts which was already present in our culture. Living in harmony with nature, being part of the eco-system, understanding the weather patterns, mixed cropping, and using rare Himalayan herbs to treat life style disease and mental health issues.
As a person with ADHD, one side of me wants to make money where there are better jobs, but a part of me will forever be where I came from. 🌄
Run after money is endless. India is the mother of spirituality. Only a spiritual attitude to life can bring deep, long-lasting peace.
You can make money back in India also now. We are the 5th lassgest economy in the world.
Anyway whatever you do, make sure your come back home every year so that you and your kids are connected and can appreciate whats the real meaning of life.
I'm from Uttarakhand, people of uttrakhand wanted a hill state and they got hill Plus planes , and thus hill remain underdeveloped and ignored.its so saddening to see whole culture of thousand of Years is on verge of extinction.
This is because people here are fools. They never demand jobs, development from politicans. And stop this glorification of villages which is the main reason for unemployment and underdevelopment in Uttrakhand.

but still some places are more developed than others, if you can't comprehend that its the framework and circumstances that lead to development, then you need to grow up , Haryana was driest place and punjab was fertile, Haryana got separated based on Identity and became first in india to achieve full electrification, and completed huge irrigation projects, which in turn made it a prosperous state.
people of hills wanted a hill state, this would have forced the government to shift in hills, and a hill City like Shimla would have developed . all we are left with now is plane Dehradun, which the babus of government can enjoy.
@@varunkhugshal9049 plains are easy to develop than mountains. You are right that our politicans living in plains don't want to do anything for hills. They are even destroying plains. Dehradun is now overcrowded, dirty and even here there is not much employment.
I am from West Nepal, my maternal side our from Uttarakhand, the migration of hill folks is a sad thing to hear about. I studied at Simla Himachal Pradesh but the problem of migration is not in that hill state. I think so it's due to better financial support in Himachal like horticulture, tourism etc. Earlier under UP Kumaon and Gharwal were ignored and now the new state governments are also not doing much

I migrated from a big city in South East Asia where I was born and raised via the USA to a little rural village in Europe some 30 years ago. The transition was painful initially. It took a gradual revamping of my inner values to accept the change. Now I'm self-sufficient in more ways than I would ever have been, had I remained in the city enjoying the instant gratifications that it provided. The practical knowledge I've acquired in the process of living off the land is not in the least comparable to the higher education I received in the US which limited me to one specialized field while ignorant of survival in nature. This includes food production, preservation, medicine, health care, and more specifically the spiritual dependency of nature (people included) on her creator.
Very nice documentary, my ancestors 150 yrs ago migrated to Mumbai from Gujarat. 2yrs ago my husband had a business opportunity and we shifted to a small sleepy town of Gujarat. Slowly I realised how much our previous generations and ours had lost our roots. It was a divine plan to come here and have had realised all that. But transition isn't easy, when u have several generations before u who have been born and brought up in a metro city and then a sudden move to a small town. But it helped a lot, as I connected with my roots here. But in our next generation 90% is going to Canada/US.
Awareness of the aftermath of migration is very well depicted in your video. In many countries in Europe people are coming back and restoring the old homes with modern amenities and trying to live a second life after escaping from the cities. This is hopeful and if the government takes an interest in providing the basic amenities then maybe in India too this will happen. So the mindset needs to change. Thanks for this wonderful video

So sharing a bit of my personal story. I was born and brought up and still living and working for living in New Delhi. But my parents are from a sub town called Katwa in West Bengal and they migrated to Delhi to make a living. Though I do go there once in a year and have been going since childhood, when you go to such sub or small town and villeges you actually understand the difference. Difference in compact building and open nature, difference in standard of living, how every job matters be it cycling a rickshaw or selling fruties on street to being a part of a well corporate job. I do have decided one thing and thats what I have planned for future as well.
You want to earn money and make a living and safe for future? Live in big cities.
You have enough money now that you can utilize property to live rest of your life without a worry? Migrate to a sub town or Village or some place full of nature, open, less populated place. Where you can actually realize every breath you take in with pure oxygen.

This video made me emotional. I'm from South India and my ancestors are from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. From last three generations we have been staying in Hyderabad. I have only heard stories of my grandmother's natives and visited them as a tourist. The subject that you mentioned about roots, is absolutely absent for me. 😑
I m originally from pithoragarh uttarakhand..my father left home to find job and served at harayana govt..that's how lakhs of PPL migrate from uttarakhand and never come back as they make their living in job place..but i m happy that my father came back to uttarakhand and we are here in uttarakhand..but most come to haldwani or doon or some plains areas as everyone wants medical and education for children.... our ancestoral home is still empty and we just go their in a year.sad but truth of each migrated uttarakhandi...

But govt shud support people with subsidized housing for migrants. Like China did for 20 years 40 crore ppl were resettled.

You've addressed the very core issue of uttarakhand.. this problem has given birth to total disappearance of a very beautiful culture and language.. governments without any vision/dedication and corruption are one of the root cause for this.
Dear friend , i also belongs to Uttarakhand, Migration is a big problem for entire Uttarakhand. I serve nation hence moved from my hometown ( not migrated as my mind and soul still resides there ) , i will grab them all once releived from my duties. the example of Roots , Stem and flower leaves was excellent ..............love those lines '' ki ab isi liye fool kam aate hain tahniyon par' kyunki vo jado se door ho gayi hai ' . All those who migrated from uttarakhand for a better life and currently living that are praiseworthy , But those who left their motherland and living compromised life in big cities , ... i request them please come back ...namak roti to yahan bhi kha sakte the...fir kyun ghar chod diya.

This video is technically very well done. The music and the editing is crisp, quite professional. The videography is also up to the mark, I really enjoyed some of the special effects. It's not as easy as it looks and many viewers miss the small little nuances, that the film-maker transfers from his mind to the screen. So, very well done.
Now about the subject... Many of those who move from the hills or smaller towns to bigger busier cities, think, alone what can they do. Don't despair, do whatever you can do, even if it's a single effort. Go for a week and teach in the village, volunteer to teach what you are best in. If you have a little finance, try building a wall or a roof of the school, assemble a PC and gift it, if u are a doctor, offer a free medical check up and distribute prescribed medicines. Keep it simple, do what you can do. Maybe you can take a group of friends and stay a few nights, thus provide work and earnings to the villagers staying back. Even if 1% of the viewers think and take action, the soul will return to these ghost villages. All the best and take care everyone.

We have fertile land and lots of water.. we can grow anything like apples kiwi exotic veggies..
But without roads nothing is possible..You will not see any gosht village in Himachal.. because they have good roads that's why they're growing apple and running homestay..

The eternal struggle to merge culture with nature. More than the answer, we need to acknowledge the question. With urban population likely to double by 2047 and the urgency shown in urban planning, maybe the answer lies at the other side of the coin. Loved the camerawork and the heart you put into this.

I moved to bigger cities 12-15 years back due to work opportunities but always loved to spend time in my small hometown.
After this pandemic, the WFH and other basic necessities have brought me back to my town.
I try to spend half of the month in my town and half in the bigger city. I can see the difference and who knows I move back to where I belong sooner than expected.

Dare say, I have travelled a lot - on foot - and the journey to Milam glacier in Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand holds out a charm such as no other! The physical and the scenic aspects of the trek were undoubtedly magnificent, but what was more enduring and poignant were the sights of the abandoned villages and the stories of families that have migrated to the cities.

My name Rinku,I belongs to Uttarakhand and I live in my village which is located in Uttarakhand before covid I was working in a restaurant, getting good money, living going lifestyle,lekin zindagi mai bas ek cheez khatak rhi thi ki "kya ham apne pahad mai rhkar kuch job nhi kar skte h", because job is number one reason for migration,and then thanks to covid ,jiski wjh se ham apne gaw mai ruke,aur hmare us wqt ye sunne ko nhi milta tha ki "beta kab ja rha h Naukri par"?? "kitne din ki chuuti aaya h"?? aur is wqt muze time mila ghar par hi kuch job ka,then I joined TH-cam actually I already uploads videos on youtube lekin lockdown mai it's like an opportunity for me to upload more content,and results kya rha I uploaded content on youtube,and I earned money's,,so job ka problem to solve,then post lockdown jab log dhere dheere fir se apni apni job ke liye wapis sahar gye,at that time mai aur mere kuch dosto ne decide kiya ki we will not go back,,and do something for our people, for ourself,and still I am in village doing my online job,and my friend found in job in local market shop.

Thank you so much, i can so well relate to it. It takes a lot of determination, will power and scarifice to quit a cushy corporate job and come back to your roots and do something meaningful. Now after 7 years of grit and scarifice we have been able to create employment for the rural population as well as launch some of the most loved tea brands right from a small town in Assam- Woolah Tea & The Tea Leaf Theory. India needs to celebrate grassroot entrepreneurs to encourage reverse brain drain.

Awesome video. Let me share my story my dad came to Delhi in search of a job leaving behind a beautiful village Mjedakhatta, Kumaun. I lived in Delhi and finished my education. At the age of 22 I moved to Florida, United states for career and better work opportunities. I miss my Pahad!

Heart touching account of how our roots are being forgotten! Change is inevitable, but if it is taking us away from our culture, our roots, it is heartbreaking. The current system is completely western! Education , lifestyle, food, everyday products, dressing and what not. There are many factors that we can blame but it is of no help. Glad to see some people trying to change this, if more people realize this and turn to their roots and stand for what holds real value, we can definitely get back to our roots! At least some!

This is exactly what I needed to see today, Your videos are so inspiring.
One of the best and soul touching documentary, so far I have seen. My personal view on this story is people who have left this place for a better opportunity and convenience, at least they should create some love and care for the place they were borne and raised, in their children too, who knows one day some of among them may come back and sets new examples, in the lap of nature. Also one thing, you didn't cover the state governments views and plans on this migration, which I would like to know in such future documentaries.

This is a very nice movie.. lots of tears in my eyes. I left my small village in Goa in 1993 for Dubai. Then went to France, Italy, Qatar, and now I am back to Dubai. It's been 29 years now misses my village a lot and I am going to back to India next year.

I can feel that because the things that happened with these villages is currently happening in my village.
Peoples are migrating in cities for better lifestyle and the intresting thing is that some of them are not earning much money they are daily wages labour and their lifestyle becomming worse in the cities.In village they have a nice home field and good persons to talk while in city they have to adjust in one room and they have nothing more than this. But their mindset is that they are living a good life their in cities 😟 this thing that herts me a lot is they are cutting their roots from where they actually originated.
Actually, the migrant labourer migrates not for a better lifestyle. She/he does it because of the lack of basic necessities (like livelihood). They know more than anyone else that the life in the village is much more peaceful. They can feel the tension in the air in the cities, when they come for the first time.
They way the world is run, if they don't follow it, it will mean they and their children will get left behind in the so called 'race' to nowhere. They are left with no choice.

Nice info…this film has definitely changed my perspective helped me deciding on what I’m doing right now - sometimes you start and as time goes by things take time to become reality and doubt starts to set in, but this is where one needs to watch and explore the idea that you started out with. Yes it’s going to take time but like a painter you have to go through the processes of acquiring knowledge of how to starch a canvas to applying the colours to creat a painting and that may take a few month or years depending on how one chooses the final painting quality to be.

It is heart wrenching to look at the condition of the state I was born in has been reduced to shambles. Apart from Dehradun, Nainital, Roorkee etc. there is absolutely no amount of support or structure from the state machinery. Private investments are fine, but to what extent?! What about the common denominator? Even the aspect of tourism has not been looked at from a holistic perspective.

I originally came from HariharPur a small village in Allahabad UP to Ghaziabad, UP.
I was born and lived some happy years there, but my father had an aspiration to make me a government employee.
He migrated in the year of my birth
To Ghaziabad and later when I went to 1st Grade he called us as well. Now we have a house in Ghaziabad and we don't go to the village often.
Grandparents still live there, they say "किसी को तो गाव में रहकर घर देखना है न, और हम पैदा यही हुए थे तो कहीं और कैसे मरे। "
I want to go back to my village but now I am so weirdly mingled in these city chores that I can't untangle myself out of it.

The way you showed this really touched me and this is the brutal truth that we are ignoring for one reason or other when I can that school shutting down broke me .I feel village can be a better place to study but it is possible if we stay, their parents let there children stay and study . Things will be different.
