Nugget's head coach made glaring errors last night. So blatant were these errors that even the on-air commentators questioned his reasoning! 1. Denver should have won in regulation! With a 3 point lead & only 8 seconds left, all they had to do was foul & force free throws. Instead, they let Dame sink three pointers. Nuggets made the SAME ERROR at end of 1st overtime. Instead of fouling, they let Lillard sink more three pointers. A perfect example of poor coaching. 2. Everyone knows that Aaron Gordon is the Nuggets' best option for guarding Dame. Everyone knows this, except the Nuggets head coach!
When I was watching the game and the Nuggets didn't foul being 3 pts up I could imagine coach Nick screaming to the TV. I could hear him shacking his head all the way to Chile.
And stupidly dumb about it. He could have let Seth Curry take those shots since he was open against the Warriors, but Dame made sure to own the moment and brick the shot instead.
Biggest coaching error repeated twice within several minutes gives us this one in a lifetime double overtime! I still can't believe they didn't foul being up 3 with 8 seconds to play. Insane!
After that OKC series where Dame sent us home, I couldn’t help bring myself to like him. I was so but hurt but after seeing his performance last night and the way he reacted after they lost tonight, he gained a fan. Nothing but respect for the man

@@holymsophy Apologies, I meant to say Steph and Dame are the best shooters on the team, so they should shoot them instead of others, especially during crunch time.
Lol no when you get doubled or tripled at half court, use the 4 on 3/2 advantage and get some easy layup or dunk or even a wide open corner 3 but yeah this depends on one equation Uncontested shot percentage by any other player > double teamed Steph/Dame 3-pointer. It's the most epic playoff performance I've seen in a long long time... It's sad he lost but he still put no doubt in my mind he's the most clutch player in NBA history
This game closes, seals and solidifies the fact that Dame is the most clutch assassin in NBA history. To me it doesn’t even matter Portland lost, this guy left my jaw hanging
I can understand the hesitancy. I don't know if there's a defender on Denver right now I would trust with getting off the foul and not risk the 4 point play. What really should have happened, is Denver should have been playing him closer up and giving up the drive vs. playing father back.
@@ppunch7050 a 4 point play is Waaaayyy Harder than a 3 point play Simple Math Those NBA Coaches have been burned so many times by playing straight up (pop vs heat) and they still don't learn
Dame had significant help from Nuggets coach, who had playing Porter, Rivers or Harrison on guarding Lillard; instead of playing Gordon or Morris. Secondly, Nuggets could have won in regulation by fouling, as they were 3 points up, with 8 seconds left. They made this error in Q4 & OT#1. Finally, a ref bailed out Portland at end of Q4, when Dame missed a 3 PT shot. There was no contact or foul by the defender; however, the ref awarded Dame with 3 FT's. Nuggets challenged "successfully", but the ref only changed his call to "foul before the shot" and still gave Blazers ball possession.
4:50 Coach, it's probably Aaron Gordon helping here. If MPJ helps, there's no additional defender on that side to close out to Powell. If Gordon helps, then Monté Morris can close out to the first pass (probably to Melo) and then the D has the opportunity to scramble at least.
If you intentionally try and foul Lillard don't be surprised if he anticipates it and gets in a shooting motion first; don't wanna take that risk. Although maybe I agree with the one where his back was to the basket.
This should solidify Dame as the undisputed clutchest playoff player of all time despite the loss. These 3s, the game 7 buzzer beater against Houston, the one against OKC.. how does he do it??
C'mon now, dame's good but not all time, he has always been an underdog with no expectation to win, he hasn't made any deep playoffs runs. I hope he get to do both soon tho, then you can say this.
I checked the score when Denver was up by 2 near the end of the 4th and immediately thought "Oh no, you are going to have to be up by more than that, cos the Blazers still got Dame"
Thoughts on the nuggets not calling timeout after Dame’s three towards the end of regulation? Seemed like a huge mistake. Nice analysis, especially on the River’s foul. Heard a lot about how it was a bad call but your cut clearly shows it. This is my favorite YT channel come playoff time. Keep it up!
I don’t even care that Portland lost. That was the greatest offensive performance I’ve ever seen. 55 points on 17-24 shooting (12-17 from 3) in a playoff game on the road. Not to mention 10 assists and only 1 turnover. Just insane
Yea, but he can't defend HENCE " why his team gave up 147pts. Yes his performance was Great but until Damian Lillard start taking defense as serious as offense their not winning SHIT !!!

04:45 that seems like a pretty easy decision to me coach. The side with more players help and rotates. You can at least force an extra pass and hope for the guys to rotate fast enough to contest. It's not a great situation but it seems better than giving a one pass away corner shot
are refs allowed to change the call on a review? i’ve had the impression that they can only review the foul in question (the one here being a shooting foul).
a sign and trade for Kawhi is the most possible thing and that says something... I doubt Kawhi would agree to go to Portland and that's if he wants out of LA in the first place, but if he does leave LA its possible they would blow it all up and the Blazers could possibly make a trade for PG13 this is just extremely unlikely but its really the Blazers only chance to add that bonified second star
No one is going to mention that Dame had nothing to do on defense? Take nothing away from his greatness but he wasn't pushed by anyone to work hard on defense in these series at all! He doesn't make those 3's late if Jamal Murray is on the court..
baiscally Nuggets did it wrong start from Q4 3:29? they should go to a zone/man to man do not rotate jokic, try porter/gordon/anyone got some speed to close the door of lillard like GSW did at 2019 WSCF?
I don't think fouling when nuggets are up 3 points is worth it for the nuggets, because blazers are really good FT shooting team and I am sure they would hit both of them while on the other side we have nuggets who have a lot of players that can brick the FT and then they are left with 2 points up and blazers having a potential game winning shot.
