FYI this is just the lore of Nasu's version of Arjuna and is VERY different form the original Mahabharata story. One small example is - Duryodhana did not take in Karna because he felt bad for him or anything, he did it because Karna was the only one who wanted to challange Arjuna and could go toe to toe against him.

In modern media the pandava side is shown as true good side and the opposing side is shown as evil, while in ancient text it's not. This is done for the common public to understand what's good and bad
The dynamic between Arjuna and Karna is interesting. Arjuna, a privileged, golden child, who was seen as the ideal hero, but is secretly a pragmatist. And Karna, a virtuous outcast, who worked hard for his position, and had the ideals the former desired. These two are like Dante and Virgil. They'd fight even if they're on the same side. And to a lesser extent, they also remind me of Ragna and Jin.
And Nakul would be an excellent rider. Karn's specialty in the real story is that Karna can be any servant, even ruler himself, but his honor prevent him from being an assassin

Vrishketu saw one figure approaching the riverside..It must be another person who lost everything in the war he thought.The person came near him.. Vrishaketu had never seen the person before .. There he found all Pandavas and Draupadi who came to take him to Hastinapur to live with them. Though he never wanted to come with them, but being alone he didn't had any choice. He was very estranged in the palace and only opened up to Krishna and Subhadra(whose son was killed by his father too). But avoided arjuna's gaze other than the practice sessions where arjuna taught him archery and warfare. Later on Krishna's and Subhadra's insistence and Subhadra's telling of Vrishketu that Arjuna is his father's brother and Karna lives through him and Arjuna too sees his Abhimanyu inside Vrishketu. So hearing that, he forgot all anger and after that became closest to Arjuna as his own son. He was taught the knowledge of Brahmastra too and was the last person on earth to know its use. This was the way by which Arjuna repented killing his brother by making his son a great warrior and his son.
One thing I really love about the Mahabharata is how human the characters are. Karna is a really amazing anti-villain whose likeable personality makes him shine while even a seemingly perfect hero like Arjuna is not without flaws. And it's funny how an epic from hundreds of years ago have such a human cast handled properly while many modern writers end up creating bland characters who don't feel human like most Mary Sue/Gar Stu's or archetypes. Goes on to show how we are hitting rock bottom by accepting mediocrity more.
The story is Karna and Arjuna is similar to a traditional conflict between the Perfect Prince and the Flawed Rouge. But only as time goes, we find perfection with the rouge and flaws within the prince. At the end of the story, both men become the other but then mixed with each other. But destiny wants Arjun to live, thus Karna had to fall.
Just found Arjuna in the recent Chaldea Boys banner. Find him quite fascinating...but sadly, there aren't so many infos about him...So this video comes at the right moment

One thing duryhodana took karna as a friend not his son. Karna was his first true friend even if duryhodana took interest in karna's power first . Duryhodana was a good person at heart but he got manipulated by his uncle and also his anger was there for not receiving the rights to the throne. Later on karna's and duryhodana friendship improves a lot and duryhodana was quite heartbroken when karna died

Yudhishthira is a Lancer, not a ruler. Nakula is Rider and Saber, and Sahadeva is Saber and Caster. As for Arjun, he can be a Saber, Caster, and Archer, while Karna can be anyone. That's why Karna is more famous than Arjun.
Aw man... I already loved both of the Indian Bros, but knowing more about both of them just makes me love them even more! Two of my favorite servants in Fate probably, and while I didn't get either of them in FGO when they were on rate up recently (I was saving to get Waver) I still hope I get blessed by both of them someday. The fate lore adds a nice twist to the original lore. Although I think a good amount of it is based on the Star Plus Mahabharata rather than the one by KM Ganguly (This author is known to be the first translator of Mahabharata from Sanskrit to English. So his translation is considered the most accurate one, but it will be a huge task to go through the entire 4000+ pages). 10:30 what has been missed is that Karna was also part of the army that was supporting the Kauravas in that attack on the Matsya kingdom. From my memory, Arjuna has actually defeated Karna outside the Kurukshetra war twice, once directly (war with Matsya kingdom) and once indirectly (rescue of the Kauravas by the Pandavas from the Gandharvas). From what I remember, it is only on the 17th day of the Mahabharata war that Karna shows greater skill (probably due to the usage of the Vijaya bow, can be called the Bow of Assured Victory). Then again this is Mahabharata which is considered to be a compilation of multiple folktales that existed throughout the subcontinent. The pen name of the original epic Vyasa essentially means "compiler" in Sanskrit!
Great lore video! I've been waiting for this one for years! It's a bit different than the historical myth, but that's probably because Fate puts their little spin on it. Just a correction, you mentioned that the Hindu god of justice is Dara. It's actually Yama, but he is referred to as Dharma in the Mahabharata when being referred to as Yudhistra's father. I know this is the fate version of the story but Arjuna defeated Karna many times in Mahabharata. Arjuna is the real hero and Karna is the villain called as the trunk of evil by Lord Krishna himself. Karna was no where close to Arjuna. His feats far surpass Karna's. Anyway, Arjuna was not ashamed of killing Karna, he was angry when he shot the arrow at his son's murderer.

I always want to burn my fully lvled Arjuna when ever I think of that cheap pot shot he took to kill Karna. One day I will get a Karna of my own, and look at Arjuna with disdain.
You really demean the character arjuna. He is basically a shounen protagonist kind of guy with sense of responsibility. Your comparison of him with karna make him look like some jealous character. Mind you he is the only person who question why we need to fight this war and more saddened than anyone.
Thank you so much for making this video. Arjuna is one of my, if not my favourite servant from all of Fate. It is sometimes upsetting how much Arjuna's personality gets twisted by Fate in order to make Karna look like the good guy in comparison, which was never the case as they both were at fault for hurting each other in the actual myth- Karna had a hand in the assassination attempt on the Pandava, he was the one who demanded the disrobing of Draupadi, and he hated Arjuna for the humiliation he faced at the archery competition even though Arjuna himself was more than ready to accept the challenge. And worst of all, his killing of Karna is mentioned multiple times without ever delving into the complex web of circumstances that led to him doing such a thing in the first place. But I also love how Fate focuses on the side of him being a hero who is cracking under the pressure of all his expectations. The fact that in order to live up to the people's expectations he just steels and focuses himself more at being a better hero and warrior, and how it pushes him to a point where perfection is everything and all his imperfections are so unacceptable to him that he forms a separate personality entirely. I love his character design, both by itself and how it forms an amazing contrast with Karna. I am hoping we will get to see him in a proper anime adaptation someday. I would have liked it if they let him use the Astras he had alongside the Pashupastra, as he had many others with varying powers that could help him out of nearly any situation you can think of, but I am not disappointed in his presentation in fate in anyway either.
Actually, it was because Ashwatthama, Drona's son, grew up in poverty. Milk was a luxury his family couldn't afford, and he had to opt for flour and water instead. That's where Arjuna's roast comes from. He essentially makes fun of him for being poor.

Wait till the strongest warriors of mahabharata come to fgo Bhisma and barbarik Bhisma(great father of both pandavas and kauravas) had the boon to choose his time and death. When he was a teenager who a war by himself. And Whenever he took a oath heavens tremble because his oath was absolute. Barbarik the grandson of bhim(one of the strongest brother in pandava) was so OP he was gifted with only 3 arrows. First arrow marks the opponent second arrow destroyes it. No one knows what the 3rd one does and barbarik never used it because it was too powerful and it wasn't required. Sadly he wasn't allowed to fight in the war because he was too OP for the war.

HunterBoy Chaldea literally uses technology called the FATE system to summon servants, allowing one master to contract multiple servants. Whether you summon a particular servant or not in game, it’s implied that Ritsuka has them story wise.
You take criticism seriously enough to reply to it, so I care enough to try and belp by giving more. But remember, if there's a type certain feeling that you're trying to capture with the way you speak, my advice might not be right for you. My criticism is an attempt to help sound a bit more natural, while still maintaining somewhat of a story telling voice. Previously, you said that you're taking strives to put more information in one beat. Now, I'm not clear on if that means more information in one take or more information in a shorter span of time. Whatever it is, it's important to remember to keep good pacing when speaking a sentence. For instance, 1:29 "...and out of remorse, Madhuri commits sati, by lighting herself ablaze, along with her husband's funeral pyre." While saying "...and out of remorse, Madhuri commits sati..." your pacing is alright. There's natural rise and fall to your speaking. But till the end of the cited quote you sort of rush through the last part. Along with this, your tone stays quite monotone. I think this was done for emphasis. Here's a way that works for me when trying to add emphasis to phrases. First, take the phrase at normal speaking pace. Then, finding the words or parts of the phrase that are most important. After, finding ways to emphasize those words or phrases and build up to them, and find a way to conclude the phrase that doesn't sound abrupt. And make sure that if you think the emphasis isn't enough you just exaggerate it a little more. Maybe a longer pause before the word, maybe a bit more volume, or bit more difference in pitch from the previous words. Also, take into account the tone you want to set for the phrase. For instance at about 7:05 you get to "...by burning down the entire forest" you resort to a lower pitch to underline the severity Agni burning down the forest that Indra protects. At that point all I ask is that there's more rise and fall and flow between your phrases. That takes a bit of practice but I know you can do it. Also, you said that you've been cutting pauses. Just make sure you're pausing for the sake of cohesion, and sometimes emphasis. It's important that you build off of natural speaking pace and then add everything. So then when saying something the audience has a natural rhythm to follow along with the emphasis you give to the phrase. Some of this probably doesn't make sense because I'm hella tired and dumb, but I wanna help, y'know. Plus I really like the content and these explanation videos, because sometimes stuff can get confusing. Anyway, you might not have time to try out some of the stuff I said in the comment, and there's even more possibilities than what I tried to explain, but I hope you find ways to grow as a content creator. Keep it up♡

Yudhstr's father is Yama, and he is not the God of Justice. Yama is the Son of Surya and he himself has his own incarnation, Vidhur, Pandu's younger brother. Yama is in fact the God of the Underworld, Death, and Afterlife. His brother Shani is the God of Justice, Karma, Punishment, and Balance. Shani was cursed at some point and because of that reborn in the mortal world as Karna.
My memory is a bit fuzzy but, I guess I ever heard that to obtain a divine level of accuracy Arjuna even cut an archer's finger (I'm forgot the name) which at the time was a better archer than Arjuna. Lost one of his finger make him can't use bow properly and lost the title as best archer, then Arjuna take his place as the best archer in the story of Mahabharata,
It was not Arjuna, but his teacher Drona who asked Eklavya to cut his thumb as the fees for learning from him. Drona asked for Eklavya's thumb since he had promised to make Arjuna the best archer. Eklavya as a good student cut off his thumb and gave it to Drona. It is said that in raw potential Eklavya surpassed Arjuna but after losing his thumb his Archery regressed.

In modern media the pandava side is shown as true good side and the opposing side is shown as evil, while in ancient text it's not. This is done for the common public to understand what's good and bad
Both sides were bad and good, only duryhodana's side had some extra bad bad things going on
The dynamic between Arjuna and Karna is interesting. Arjuna, a privileged, golden child, who was seen as the ideal hero, but is secretly a pragmatist. And Karna, a virtuous outcast, who worked hard for his position, and had the ideals the former desired.
These two are like Dante and Virgil. They'd fight even if they're on the same side. And to a lesser extent, they also remind me of Ragna and Jin.
That's what being a siblings in a nutshell.
If they make Krishna as caster or ruler class servant I am really gonna whale for him.

But Karna, knew that Pandavas were his brothers then he vowed to his mother he would only kill Arjuna if he can, and would leave all other brothers alone.
NOW AFTER THAT, as we know Vrishketu was the only left son of Karna in his 7 sons, who were all killed by Pandavas themselves. Vrishketu's mother committed sati on Karna's pyre and hence Vrishketu was all alone. He was extremely sad and was angry at the man who killed his brave father when he was nishastra(weaponless). But he was a child and couldn't do anything but lament. So, Vrishaketu went to the riverside where his father used to spend hours praying to Surya Narayan .He took a handfull of water, keeping the most admirable figure of his father in mind he did tarpan . Opening eyelids he stared at the round figure of God Sun.There were a lot of questions reflecting in his eyes. Unable to face his innocent gaze, Sun went to hide under the water.
Vrishketu saw one figure approaching the riverside..It must be another person who lost everything in the war he thought.The person came near him.. Vrishaketu had never seen the person before .. He couldnt understand why the face seemed familiar to him.The stranger smiled at him.
The smile… He had rarely seen his father smiling.He used to be a loving father , but strict at the same time. He recollected the moment once he saw his father at the riverside with a gloomy face, father was literally crying back then. Vrishketu told his father that he would kill all his father’s enemies and will make him smile.Father gave him a wet smile then..He felt that very strange, how this unknown person’s smile did remind him of his father’s!!
Looking deeply into his eyes the person spoke to him..” Son ,I came here searching for you..”he paused there as if struggling to get proper words to continue..”Do I know you?Your face seems very familiar to me.I thought you also came here to do tarpan for your lost relatives … Oh ,I am Sorry…why do I think that everyone are like me!!” Vrishketu looked at him eager to hear why did the person came looking for him..

“May I know your name?”The person stood up and placed one hand gently on Vrishketu and hugged him closely..”Forgive me my son, Your father Maharathi Karn is my Jyeshth Bhrata.”
Vrishketu was shocked.His whole body was shaking.The person whom he wanted to kill ,is standing there asking for his forgiveness..He seperated himself from Arjun’s hug in a haste.He couldnt utter a single word..Giving a dark look to Arjun the child ran back to his house. There he found all Pandavas and Draupadi who came to take him to Hastinapur to live with them. Though he never wanted to come with them, but being alone he didn't had any choice. He was very estranged in the palace and only opened up to Krishna and Subhadra(whose son was killed by his father too). But avoided arjuna's gaze other than the practice sessions where arjuna taught him archery and warfare. Later on Krishna's and Subhadra's insistence and Subhadra's telling of Vrishketu that Arjuna is his father's brother and Karna lives through him and Arjuna too sees his Abhimanyu inside Vrishketu. So hearing that, he forgot all anger and after that became closest to Arjuna as his own son. He was taught the knowledge of Brahmastra too and was the last person on earth to know its use.
This was the way by which Arjuna repented killing his brother by making his son a great warrior and his son.

One thing I really love about the Mahabharata is how human the characters are. Karna is a really amazing anti-villain whose likeable personality makes him shine while even a seemingly perfect hero like Arjuna is not without flaws.
And it's funny how an epic from hundreds of years ago have such a human cast handled properly while many modern writers end up creating bland characters who don't feel human like most Mary Sue/Gar Stu's or archetypes. Goes on to show how we are hitting rock bottom by accepting mediocrity more.
The story is Karna and Arjuna is similar to a traditional conflict between the Perfect Prince and the Flawed Rouge. But only as time goes, we find perfection with the rouge and flaws within the prince. At the end of the story, both men become the other but then mixed with each other. But destiny wants Arjun to live, thus Karna had to fall.

One thing duryhodana took karna as a friend not his son. Karna was his first true friend even if duryhodana took interest in karna's power first . Duryhodana was a good person at heart but he got manipulated by his uncle and also his anger was there for not receiving the rights to the throne. Later on karna's and duryhodana friendship improves a lot and duryhodana was quite heartbroken when karna died

Yudhishthira is a Lancer, not a ruler. Nakula is Rider and Saber, and Sahadeva is Saber and Caster. As for Arjun, he can be a Saber, Caster, and Archer, while Karna can be anyone. That's why Karna is more famous than Arjun.

Aw man... I already loved both of the Indian Bros, but knowing more about both of them just makes me love them even more! Two of my favorite servants in Fate probably, and while I didn't get either of them in FGO when they were on rate up recently (I was saving to get Waver) I still hope I get blessed by both of them someday. I love these videos and I don't think I say it enough!
The fate lore adds a nice twist to the original lore. Although I think a good amount of it is based on the Star Plus Mahabharata rather than the one by KM Ganguly (This author is known to be the first translator of Mahabharata from Sanskrit to English. So his translation is considered the most accurate one, but it will be a huge task to go through the entire 4000+ pages).
10:30 what has been missed is that Karna was also part of the army that was supporting the Kauravas in that attack on the Matsya kingdom. From my memory, Arjuna has actually defeated Karna outside the Kurukshetra war twice, once directly (war with Matsya kingdom) and once indirectly (rescue of the Kauravas by the Pandavas from the Gandharvas). From what I remember, it is only on the 17th day of the Mahabharata war that Karna shows greater skill (probably due to the usage of the Vijaya bow, can be called the Bow of Assured Victory). Then again this is Mahabharata which is considered to be a compilation of multiple folktales that existed throughout the subcontinent. The pen name of the original epic Vyasa essentially means "compiler" in Sanskrit!
Great lore video! I've been waiting for this one for years! It's a bit different than the historical myth, but that's probably because Fate puts their little spin on it. Just a correction, you mentioned that the Hindu god of justice is Dara. It's actually Yama, but he is referred to as Dharma in the Mahabharata when being referred to as Yudhistra's father. It is sometimes upsetting how much Arjuna's personality gets twisted by Fate in order to make Karna look like the good guy in comparison, which was never the case as they both were at fault for hurting each other in the actual myth- Karna had a hand in the assassination attempt on the Pandava, he was the one who demanded the disrobing of Draupadi, and he hated Arjuna for the humiliation he faced at the archery competition even though Arjuna himself was more than ready to accept the challenge. And worst of all, his killing of Karna is mentioned multiple times without ever delving into the complex web of circumstances that led to him doing such a thing in the first place.
But I also love how Fate focuses on the side of him being a hero who is cracking under the pressure of all his expectations. The fact that in order to live up to the people's expectations he just steels and focuses himself more at being a better hero and warrior, and how it pushes him to a point where perfection is everything and all his imperfections are so unacceptable to him that he forms a separate personality entirely. I love his character design, both by itself and how it forms an amazing contrast with Karna. I am hoping we will get to see him in a proper anime adaptation someday. I would have liked it if they let him use the Astras he had alongside the Pashupastra, as he had many others with varying powers that could help him out of nearly any situation you can think of, but I am not disappointed in his presentation in fate in anyway either.

HunterBoy Chaldea literally uses technology called the FATE system to summon servants, allowing one master to contract multiple servants. Whether you summon a particular servant or not in game, it’s implied that Ritsuka has them story wise.

You take criticism seriously enough to reply to it, so I care enough to try and belp by giving more. But remember, if there's a type certain feeling that you're trying to capture with the way you speak, my advice might not be right for you. My criticism is an attempt to help sound a bit more natural, while still maintaining somewhat of a story telling voice. Previously, you said that you're taking strives to put more information in one beat. Now, I'm not clear on if that means more information in one take or more information in a shorter span of time. Whatever it is, it's important to remember to keep good pacing when speaking a sentence. For instance,
1:29 "...and out of remorse, Madhuri commits sati, by lighting herself ablaze, along with her husband's funeral pyre."
While saying "...and out of remorse, Madhuri commits sati..." your pacing is alright. There's natural rise and fall to your speaking. But till the end of the cited quote you sort of rush through the last part. Along with this, your tone stays quite monotone. I think this was done for emphasis.
Here's a way that works for me when trying to add emphasis to phrases. First, take the phrase at normal speaking pace. Then, finding the words or parts of the phrase that are most important. After, finding ways to emphasize those words or phrases and build up to them, and find a way to conclude the phrase that doesn't sound abrupt. And make sure that if you think the emphasis isn't enough you just exaggerate it a little more. Maybe a longer pause before the word, maybe a bit more volume, or bit more difference in pitch from the previous words. Also, take into account the tone you want to set for the phrase.
For instance at about 7:05 you get to "...by burning down the entire forest" you resort to a lower pitch to underline the severity Agni burning down the forest that Indra protects.
At that point all I ask is that there's more rise and fall and flow between your phrases. That takes a bit of practice but I know you can do it.
Also, you said that you've been cutting pauses. Just make sure you're pausing for the sake of cohesion, and sometimes emphasis. It's important that you build off of natural speaking pace and then add everything. So then when saying something the audience has a natural rhythm to follow along with the emphasis you give to the phrase.
Some of this probably doesn't make sense because I'm hella tired and dumb, but I wanna help, y'know. Plus I really like the content and these explanation videos, because sometimes stuff can get confusing.
Anyway, you might not have time to try out some of the stuff I said in the comment, and there's even more possibilities than what I tried to explain, but I hope you find ways to grow as a content creator. Keep it up♡

My memory is a bit fuzzy but, I guess I ever heard that to obtain a divine level of accuracy Arjuna even cut an archer's finger (I'm forgot the name) which at the time was a better archer than Arjuna. Lost one of his finger make him can't use bow properly and lost the title as best archer, then Arjuna take his place as the best archer in the story of Mahabharata,

It was not Arjuna, but his teacher Drona who asked Eklavya to cut his thumb as the fees for learning from him. Drona asked for Eklavya's thumb since he had promised to make Arjuna the best archer. Eklavya as a good student cut off his thumb and gave it to Drona. It is said that in raw potential Eklavya surpassed Arjuna but after losing his thumb his Archery regressed.
