The stage area flooded quickly once they started and the hard-core metalheads were blown away by these insanely talented musicians. The real hit that day and the talk of the crowd was Haruna and how the "beast" drove this band and this set from start to finish. Miyako was there with Midori and the ice water in their veins made the duo even more impressive before this group. Next trip to Wacken will be to the Main Stage and the 82K metalheads hopefully get to see the best metal band performing LIVE today!!!!
I was there, wacken 2018, I had never even heard of this band, it was a friend of mine who worked for Metal Hammer who told me about it and took me to see the band (I still thank her today) and the show was as if I had been run over by a train (me and a lot of people in the audience, we didn't know anything about the band). The word is relentless. They start and don't stop! I don't claim to be a fan right from the start of Lovebites career as I had not heard of them. As soon as I watched this Wacken Open Air gig, I became enchanted. A metal band that is fun? What is that? I grew up with bad attitude from four or five sweaty guys who couldn't care less about their fans if they made it to the larger venues and festivals. To see quality metal songs written, arranged and performed by five demure women all beautifully dressed, compared to the usual rock chic, street walker look, just blew me away and the Lovebites ladies have done, ever since.

"See you again soon, thank you so much. Byebyeeee". So cute. One thing what I like in this band is the complete missing of evilness. They just lift you with the lyrics and beautiful melodies, and still their music kicks ass. After listening many years to "evil" metal (Death, Black), it started to get tiring and didn't feel good anymore. Nowadays, the only more extreme metal band I listen to is the funeral doom band Evoken, and I also really like the two latest Shape Of Despair albums, it's just a bit too sad, when you already are sad most of the time. But some Cannibal corpse, Deicide or early Mayhem and other emotionless metal, I just can't listen to those at all anymore.
They definitely go in a different direction than much modern metal, and especially the more extreme sub-genres. Beautiful women, who are elite musicians playing the classic metal sound of the 80s and early 90s that I love, including thrash, all with clean vocals. For me, this is the best band in the world.
*Recommendation* : Lovebites' "Lost in the garden" . *Live* , of course. As you appreciated their piano parts and their precise and harmonic (guitar) playing, you will not regret it. 😊

Midori's solo got a little bit messed up at one point, but it's no wonder, for the first time in Europe and in Wacken, a completely new and surely demanding metal audience. I guess it made them a little nervous. Awesome band, I've been hooked for 6 months now. Ja suomalainen minäkin.
