Thank you so much for this video!! My oldest daughter is pregnant and we were talking about pumps. Back when I had my kids, the Medela was the pump to get. I did like it over manually pumping, but as you said it was SO loud. I have been so excited that this style of pump was available for her, but worried about if it was efficient etc. She works as a manager at a Starbucks and was so worried about going back to work and not being able to pump as she wants to be able to breast feed as long as possible. I am also happy to see the comparison of the Elvie and the Spectra. It does seem that both have advantages for sure and that perhaps the Elvie would be great for her at work for sure. But the spectra would be fabulous as well. I am sending this video to her and we will definitely check to see what her insurance will cover! I am so happy I found your page!! Subscribed and I bet my daughter will too!!
The double elvie through my insurance is $350, I have Tricare and I find the $350 price over what my insurance pays is Kinda high. My insurance covers all the spectra at no cost except the synergy gold which is only a $55 upgrade charge. I’m planning on going with the spectra synergy because I’ve had trouble with breastfeeding and my supply with my 2 older kids.
Shop around for websites that might have a higher discount for insurance. I also have Tricare and I got my Elvie Double for $170 thru insurance. I also have the Spectra S2 which the cost was completely covered. I use both for different benefits.
I have no babies at the moment but I always wondered about The Spectra. I too used the Medela and don't like how loud it was. My insurance now covers the spectra and got my medela also through insurance.
You are absolutely amazing. What stores do you usually do your grocery shopping at? Do you ever stock up on anything like soda or water? Can you possibly do more in store videos? I think it would be awesome if you could show how you do your full shopping trip
Have you replaced the seals and "duckvails" on the elvie? Those need regular replacement. I also know that sometimes your flange size can change from postpartum.
Which medella did you have? I just bought the elvies and I have the spectra already. I’m planning on using both but I did want to try the elvies out. I do love the spectra though.
I’m debating on which one to get, the one I have was covered with my insurance and I think it doesn’t have a good suction on it. I’m trying to get something that really sucks the milk out better. I want to get the Elvie because it doesn’t have tubes attaching but I wouldn’t mind if the spectra works better..
Question: when you bend over do u have a problem with milk comming out from the bottles with elvies ? I had elvies and got rid of them and got a willow intead... but the elvie is quiet compared to the willow 🥲

For sure the Spectra Synergy is more powerful and can yield more milk as compared to those portable pumps :) definitely helped me with my second kid!

Thanks. I do stock on drinks because we drink well water and no soda in our house. But I could do in store shopping

I feel like when I’m home I use spectra more than elvie. Unless outside or a walk and at work I use elvie.

This question is probably dumb but how do you give them the milk after it’s been freezed? Are the bags microwaveable?
I place in fridge to thaw make sure to put in container in case bags leak

How often do you switch from elvie and spectra? Do you ever switch to make sure your milk doesnt go down?
I use spectra when home and when I’m out elvie

Yes I don’t bend over at all and if I have to pick something up I squat to the floor to get it so it doesn’t leak out of the buttons
