Favorite Reads of 2023 1. The World According to Mister Rogers 2. Man Made Monsters by Andrea Rogers 3. Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman 4. The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh 5. Forever Is Now by Mariama J. Lockington
From the Desk of Zoe Washington (and middle grade novels in general ) is a comfort read for me! Loved that book. So Many New Beginnings and Love Radio are on my shelf. I really need to get to them🫣 The Davenports was also one of my favorites of 2023! 🤗 I can’t waaaiiit for the next book.
Oh wow, so many amazing books, Gabby! I added so many to my TBR and Leaving Atlanta is probably going to be the first one I read - I had no idea that this had happened and now I am reading about it and it's heartbreaking 😔 Great video! 💖
I feel like we have similisr tastes in books. I find myself drawn to historical fiction. These book recommendations sound reslly good and I've honestly found it hard to find books written by Black authors or even with more black characters so this is amazing. So Many Beginnings sounds really good!
That’s tough! I think An American Marriage first. Leaving Atlanta is touch and go for some people because it’s told from the children’s perspective and is in a child’s voice.

Leaving Atlanta by Tayari Jones sounds incredible! I’m very interested in reading a first hand account of the Atlanta Child Murders.
It was an amazing book! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Hello! :)
I haven't read Tayari Jones yet. Would you suggest ready Leaving Atlanta or An American Marriage first??
