That's a good idea!💜 I don't see why they couldn't add that in, sometime in the future. But they've been very tight-lipped about any work they're doing (or have done) on the app. I wish there was a bit more communication regarding their plans for it.
That is pretty cool.
I wish they would implement a system with Companion where you can order your retainer to tend to your garden instead of having to do it yourself in-game. Even if it costs Venture tokens to do so.
Oh gawd yes! 💜I can't tell you how many times I've been away from home with no access to the game when I realised I won't be able to save my plants. It would be a lifesaver!
Glad this came up, got it updated and it finally feels like an app. The inventory and retainer management is so nice now. I wish it would let me use my actual ventures to send them off but it does make it a lot easier for me to keep up with them
Awesome! And totally agree! 💜 Can't wait until I can keep sending them out on some hunting ventures for in-demand crafting items for DT. The gil. Think of the gil! Looks like you can't repeat quick-ventures more than once, but hunting you can keep doing and the items can go right onto your retainer.
Unfortunately the one reason I would use this is not available which is quick exploration ventures. Be nice to lvl my retainers easily when not at home.
Yeah, I understand. 💜 It will let you "complete" your quick venture and do any number of hunting ventures in the meantime... if you wanted to make any Gil while not at the computer, though.

I was very excited to hear about the handling of retainer ventures via the app but I ran into a problem. Once a retainer has finished a venture, the only option it gives me to send them back out on is hunting. I've been sending them on quick ventures because there's specific gear I've been trying to get that only comes from the quick ventures. If I can't select the venture I want then there's no point in doing it through the app. At least the inventory management has been useful.
I think I know the reason why this is the case... It's because quick ventures can potentially bring back items that are 'unique' and it could run into issues putting it into your or your retainer's inventories. So it has to hold it as pending so you can deal with it in game. However... Hunting/Gathering ventures bring back an item that is immediately placed onto your retainer so you can do them however often you like. Personally, I'm doing those ventures now because new leathers/rocks are selling so well because of Dawntrail... But I can understand how it wouldn't be helpful for people doing quick ventures. 💜

When my phone was new, mud brick was the state of the art home construction material. I may check it out when I get an upgrade.
My favourite phone to-date was probably my Nokia with the slide-out keyboard. It wouldn't run this app, but at least I didn't have to press the 1 key three times to get a 'c'. 😉

Why updates the game with quality of life futures when we can sell them
It's hard to fault them for making money on the side when everyone is doing it. And it's hard to complain about the game QOL updates when they *just* released an expansion. But I understand your point.

What the app also can do is that you can marketboard prices while you are logged in. No need to teleport to a mb just to check a price of something.
I've had the app since day 1 and I'm really pleased what they did with the last update.
What I now want to be added most in the app is unlimited kupo-nuts or the removal of them for premium users. 10 nuts is not enough to keep 10 retainers busy.
Thank you for sharing! 💜 And I think you're right - 10 is far too few for someone who is paying a subscription anyway. If not unlimited, at least 25-50 would be more appropriate. I mean, if I'm PAYING for 10 retainers, I should be able to keep all 10 of them moving. 🤪

One small note, back the mike up an inch or two, it is way too close to your mouth as the "mouth" sounds come through very clearly (the saliva sound....idk how to explain it LOL)

Was excited to be able to stock up on some mats while at work but half of my retainers dont work. One says its not equipped with a main hand weapon, the other that its ilvl is too low for the venture.
Which is extra odd when the "unequipped" one had already done the venture and I was just trying to conplete it, and the 'low ilvl' one had just conpleted that same venture 5 min before 😅
Back in the bin you go app, I had such high hopes 😢

I've had the Companion App for over a year, and the fact that we couldn't assign ventures to retainers from the app. I only bought it for the retainer and saddle bag. But now we can actually assign retainers from the app, I'm about to fire it up again. Thanks for the video! I most likely wouldn't have noticed if you didn't make this.

i wish you could talk in FC chat and it saves the chat somehow. but even 1-1 tells are not saved in-game. if i talk to someone, is 1-1 on the app only
Thought communication in the app was separate from in game communication. Did they finally change that? Thats the thing i want the most. Back in the day world of warcraft had something like that in their version of a similar app. I coud litterally chat in guild chat when not logged in and see what everyone in game was discussing.
I do remember that for Warcraft! Fantastic for guild leaders and others who want to keep an ear open at all times to the community. There are FC / Community group chats in the app, but you're right - it's not real-time FC chat synced to the game as the other members all have to have been registered to the app for it to work at present. But it's not beyond the realm of possibility that they can change it in the future...
I updated the app but I'm not able to change the background image. Only the theme of the menu. Your video skips over where Style Settings is located.
I'm sorry! 💜 When you're on the homescreen of the app, there is a icon with 4 boxes stacked in a square in the very top left of the screen. Click that to enter the layout editor. Next, there is a phone icon with a gear on it next to three vertical dots at the top right of the screen. Click the phone. The menu it takes you to is the style settings menu - with text, menu, and wallpaper settings. I really hope this helps!

Okay, this. 💜 There are a bunch of cutscenes I've been meaning to rewatch for some time but I never think of it when I'm in my glamour dresser... I mean inn room. >.>
As a computer guy that has a weird phone setup to be able to remote into the game on my PC a long time ago because I didn't want to pay for managing retainers... You got me with the inventory management convenience with the duplicates.
I'll be downloading it again just for that major convenience in menuing less than touch screen via remote PC.
I mean, I'm intrigued. >.> I use my Asus ROG to get into game remotely when I need to do something retainer wise or crafting or such - but a phone? I mean, kudos to you! I'm glad I could assist! 💜
@@gamer_debbie yeah I have a raspberry Pi to wake up my computer from outside my lan from my phone via a very specific set of "knocks" on closed ports in a specific order. So I never open up my ports to attackers while my PC is off
And I shut down my computer remoting via Moonlight ports into the game so they're closed again afterwards.
So I crafted during doctors appointments in the waiting room
I even healed O11N via touch screen during lunch at work one time NEVER AGAIN. I swore off battle content on phone without a PS4 controller.
Honestly hate additional paid featured and microtransactions in an MMO game that's subbased + base price + expansion ... That's kinda ridiculous.
Sub + base game + expansion + Addl purchases has been the MMO format for over 20 years now. It's hard to think of a large game that doesn't follow it. Now, buying the same reskinned FIFA game year after year for full price is absolutely ridiculous. 🙊

Yay! You're stronger than I am! I don't think I could ever, for any reason, let go of that extra saddlebag space. But even worse to see your items there and not be able to get to them!
Can you use ventures to send quick exploration missions? Wouldn't ten nuts every hour get very expensive?
You *can* do it. Whether or not you *should* do it is another question. lol For people with 2-3 retainers, 10 nuts can go a long way towards keeping them venturing a long time. As for my 10 retainers, I'm usually hovering around 8-10 nuts at any given time so if I wanted to I could send them all out, but I definitely wouldn't want to sustain it by paying for mog coins! Thankfully, right now they're all leveling to 100 and are doing those 17 hours exploration missions (so finding the nuts to flip them isn't too bad).
This is the same issue I have. I love that they added the feature but it's way too expensive if you have to spend 1 kuppo nut / 1 mog coin for every venture you send them to, for every item you put on the market board, for every time you want to adjust a price of an item you are selling... It's way too much. 30 coins are like 6 euros so one coin is like 20 cents. You can easily make the calculations on how expensive this would be if you want to use it regularly on daily bases for retainers and market board items to be sold.
If they add this as a service for paid users for example where they'd let us use our ventures instead, I would pay for the app sub every month. As it is right now, it's not useful to me as I don't struggle with space and my 4 retainers are more then enough for me.
The retainer venture option does not work for me for some reason. It keeps saying I have to be on my homeworld to access it.
Oh, that's really weird! I'm sorry!💜 If your character IS on their homeworld, there's a way to sync data between the app and the sever, and perhaps you should give that a try. Just go to the main menu (the three bars on the top right) and then go to 'App Settings' and then 'Sync Character Data' and 'Sync App Data' and hopefully this fixes the problem!

$5 a month. A regular retainer costs $3 a month. So it's getting an extra saddlebag for $2 a month. I'd give up a coffee for that. 😉
The Kupo nuts though…. WOW had a good companion app, at least when I used to play. No limits on maintenancing auctions.
I do remember the one for WoW. It would be nice to have something similar, but I imagine the reason why we don't has something to do with RMT or bots.

Is the buying tax only 3% in app vs the 5% tax ingame? I don't understand the fee notice. If the tax is lower, it might be better to use app nuts when buying million dollar mounts, items, etc. Can someone confirm?
I just listed an item on the app from my Old Sharlayan retainer and it said I would not be charged any tax on this sale. When I tried to buy something, it said the rate for purchases made on the app is 3%. So yes, can confirm! 💜

I'm sorry for the confusion! 💜You can send them out and pay 'kupo nuts' to do it instead of venture. You get the kupo nuts for free for logging into the app, but can also purchase them. I hope this helps!

@@naotohex kupo nuts are daily. It's useless if you're actually wanting to use this for venture management.
Quick math, if you have 9 retainers, it will take you 5 days to get enough kupo nuts to send them on ONE quick venture. You can't select any other venture types.
It's $5 a month, so the plus side is you're basically paying the $2 to get an extra retainer and getting $3 dollars worth of additional features.

I just hate the fact i have to write my one time password almost each time i wanna log in there.
I also use a 1-time password, but it keeps me signed in nearly all the time unless I log out or there's an update to the app - so it doesn't make me use it too often. If it's making you use it frequently, there should be an option to keep you signed in on the device you're using.

IMO, paying for the service to even use the app, to then be asked to pay per transaction for retainer stuff, it’s a no from me. I’m gonna sub for 1 month to get the stuff off my extra retainer and then not sign up for it again. :\
I understand your point of view. I find that the kupo nuts free from logging in usually take care of anything I really want to do, so there's no *need* to pay for transactions if you don't want to. I haven't made a purchase from the app in the years that I've had it.
