I had a similar experience with a gentleman here that owns a couple of comic stores. He is a big collector at heart. Has multiple full runs of golden age titles. At the time I was into bronze and copper. Boy do i regret not picking up some of that gold now lol
I’m into the golden age horror and crime comics myself but many of the famous EC artists drew for many of the romance comics so I can appreciate that stuff as well. Marvel stuff would be easy for me to sell as I’m not as personally interested in the superheroes but I appreciate them.
Very cool collection and mix of stuff, thanks for the tour! I know we didn't see it all, but just to touch on your comment from early-on in the video, there are indeed many other collectors/dealers with higher value collections.
In recent months I have seen a proliferation of dealers posting videos of collections they got a "great deal" on. This seems like a harbinger of things to come. At some point soon there is going to be a significant downturn in the market with so many collectors exiting the market and letting go of collections at a fraction of their realized (retail market) value.
@@johnbts9216 I suspect dealers will be massively discounting high priced ticket items at this years NYCC and that will be the start. Just seems to be way too much inventory available.

Hey great video! Any idea where to get those cool cases at the 4:35 mark? Could you ask this guy and find out where to get them? Any info would be appreciated.

That was a great question you asked...... about reading the books....the guy was Not a collector but just a Capitalist. Not a true hobbyist. This kind of person just raises the prices of collectables and fools rush in to buy. Its sad the Hobby is tarnished like this. Same thing with Disney....they don't care about the characters or MCU movies they make....they pump out junk that has no relationship to the comics and the result is what it is now.....junk that no one cares to see anymore. 😅
I was talking to some people last weekend at a comic swap/trade day in Hurricane WV. We were talkinh about this dealer. He wants to get people to sort and grade his books as he is growing big now, but he only wants people who do not collect to do the job. So you need someone with the knowledge but not the interest? Would be a tough find.
Well if I had the amount of money tied up in comics trust me it would be nothing but the hustle at that point. When it’s taken to a level of job I imagine that’s what it turns into. I would hope that my love for comics wouldn’t diminish to that extent but I would probably loss some love for it if it was a full time hustle.
It kind of makes you question why comic books are so expensive. This is one guy who has hoarded a mass of books. How many more guys are out there with the same amount ? Are they really that rare?
Great video man! Do mentioned that he has every book cleaned and pressed before getting them graded! Do you happen to know who he uses for cleaning and pressing?

Or you missed Snyder’s first arc of his Batman run? Forget about it. All thanks to the whales swarming the shops wednesday and then up selling them for ridiculous prices. And if you don’t have it on your pull list good luck. I love comics but damn is it daunting to collect in modern times.
Based on the video you can tell he has no love or passion for the hobby. Calling one section his "trash" collection, like damn. Nothing gets him excited because hes not like you or me. Awesome collection though.
