@@alirezamodares3463 It's probably the 80s and the 90s more like, the early 2000s wasn't really all that great in terms of Hip-Hop, maybe a bit more tolerable than what Hip-Hop is now with some songs that ranged from pretty good to bonafide hits here and there in that era, but still.

Lupe's album was missed too, and fuck it, Boosie's new album's been slept on a bit also. All deep albums, but 2014 FHD has paved the way for something...
Erick Espinoza Wha??? 2014 FHD got a ton of shine, it even went platinum wtf. Tetsuo & Youth deserved that kind of attention too, actually even more so because it's a much better album.

What he is saying about Hip Hop is so true and Hip Hop mainstream has been garbage for some years now, at least the last 10-11 years! It was still decent in the early 2000s and of course the 90s and 80s. Garbage sites like World Star Hip Hop and Media Take Out should have been shut down YEARS ago. It's embarrassing as well that people still support those sites. People have the power to put certain businesses, blogs, shows, and artists out of business but they won't because so many are misled and naive!
so true I don't even consider this stuff rap anymore just beats and words sometimes fake singing just a joke. Sad but true. I feel like it's music just play to on the radio same beats all the time.

Klaas Vaak I think you're using the incorrect terminology. Producer is someone who makes beats and creates more out of a song by turning it into a sample. You mean to say record Executives and CEO's that own the record labels and control the way artist move
Mike Thomas ..Pac might be not that intelligent as this man but for pac age back in the day that was dope brother let's not forget pac was on his 20's brother.
David Banner is tellin it like it is...authentic & raw. Hip Hop isn't the same, and the whites (generally) are demonizing our culture (especially through music).
The God David Banner talking that real shit! He did a lecture with Dr. Umar Johnson recently. Banner been on his #RBG #BlackPower #UnapologeticallyAfrican shit HEAVY! I LOVE IT!
1Southsideplaya I feel you King. I ask that you don't generalize everyone doing work because you have a certain section of disingenuous people. You wouldn't want someone putting you in the same category as a child molester because you two may have a few things in common. I can't speak for others but just to enlighten you.... I'm #RBG #BlackPower In my area, we have independent African centered schools for the babies (Uhuru Academy) were the school is supported by those that run it and people of African decent that donate resources. No white money or government money is accept. Nu-Waters Food Cooperative is a black owned business that works with black farmers to feed the community The #RBG #BlackPower section provides security for our neighborhoods in various areas so that we can police our own and limit our interactions with trigger happy white supremacist police. We also hold self defense classes for women and children and provide start up fund for black people who want to start businesses. No "hustling" in our work. Just genuine love for the people and the will to see our babies live in a better society and our women to be protected at all cost. I get what you saying King but it's real people out here doing for real work to uplift our community. This work goes beyond Sa Neter. If you wanna get involved and not just slander online, let's build King.
1Southsideplaya Right. I totally understand where you're coming from King. In this liberation movement, everybody has a lane. The thing about Sa Neter and the HOK is they just provide information. It's good information, but they're not really doing the day to day work. It's some phenomenal people doing the work. They just are too busy working. That's why Sa Neter is needed so the information can be displayed to the masses. #RBG is all about the upliftment and improvement of African people worldwide in all ways of life. Whether it's through information, food, clothes, ect... We support our people first. So I would rather support a Sa Neter for information instead of PBS who's going to lie and give misinformation ya know. We know Wal-Mart, these Asian hair stores and these Arab corner stores are hustling us yet our people still support them and won't stop giving them our money while they give us absolutely nothing in return. Let's bash them first then take care of in house business. I support the efforts Sa Neter putting in because it takes funds to display information, do lectures, debates and conferences. But the daily grind is in our communities we live in and that's what all of us show be focused on.
I just tried to listen to it, having watched this video. 🤔 Imo, there isn't one song on that album that is better than "They Schools" or "bigger than hip hop" from Dead Prez's album. 🤔 That's 1 and 2, right there. But yeah, if all you want to listen to is angry black man rants, I'm sure it's great 😂. I've never heard of this guy in my life and in this video he sounds like The Mad Rapper from a skit on one of Biggie's albums. To claim that his album is the greatest hip hop album ever, is like Chris Brown claiming that he's bigger and better than Michael Jackson. 🙄 Completely deluded! He must've never listened carefully to any 90s Hip Hop. Sorry, but he'll have to do better than this 😳😶.
haha he spit out so much disinformation, parroting the same misinformation that circulates certain circles. So not only is he just repeating things he heard other people say, he didn't take the time to even verify it on his own
So does them mean less Lord Jamar and more David Banner?? I like DB but sometimes think he's over-hyped as a new age philosopher/thinker/teacher. (I don't know how he see's himself. I like LJ because he's kind of unapologetic for his opinions (even if they are twisted), feels no need to be politically correct, and he gives some him hop history.
Candace Reynolds Banners a more reasonable person. I like Jamar but the homophobia ruins it for me and Vlad always knows how to push the buttons to get it out of him lol
Candace Reynolds Banner isn't politically correct until he educates himself to history, correctly. He speaks misinformation. As well as, not connecting his points in a manner that makes sense. He raises his voice, I hate when men yell thinking it makes them right. When a man starts to yell, the first thing I do is check facts. Historical facts. Like, from scientific historical documents, not internet Google searches. lol He need's to do a Google Scholar search on the original police vs. when slaves came to this nation, three centuries later.Facts.
Denise Munoz Ha! I say this too about him. I have degrees in poli sci and public policy so while I usually agree in theory w the point he's trying to make, I wence at how he relays the message bc it's usually not as accurate as he makes it seem and he kind of tries to reinforce his version of events by raising his voice. But on the other hand, even documented history is full of inaccuracies and are just one man's version of events. ...I like DB though
Reasons why Hip-hop is dead today! 1. Soulja boy , Future , 2 chainz , Young Thug , Big Sean , Migos , Chief Keef , Lil Reese , OT Genesis , Wiz Khalifa , French Montana , Honey Cocaine , Kid Ink , and a few other wack ones are ruining hip-hop. I'm talking about this generation rappers. 2. Rappers like the ones above are considered good to most people and get radio time alot for some odd reason. It's sad how people would say J cole or drake suck but then go listening to chief keef talking about this song hot he's the best rapper out now. 3. Anybody can be a rapper these days. When I say anybody. I mean anybody! I recently heard some new rapper on the radio repeating these words. "I got different strokes call it Gary Coleman".. Palm to face 4. Rappers like Kendrick , drake , j cole , krit , Vince stalpes , Logic , Earl Sweatshirt , Ab Soul , Chance the rapper , Flatbush Zombies , Euro , Caskey , Joey Bada$$ , Ace hood , rest of pro era , and others are the best of this generation. But people these days don't wanna hear real truthful stuff that elevate the mind. They rather hear about turning up in the club or smoking weed.
Agree 100% with every point you made, K.R.I.T. is my dude and has been since he came out and it sickens me that people say he sucks and listen to young thug or bobby shmurda. The only thing I disagree with you on is drake. I dont think he sucks but when he raps he tries to be hood and its not real. In my opinion he should just stick to singing or rap about his own experiences instead of trying to be something hes not. Other than that I think hes dope but just when he talks about getting bodies and all that nonsense it doesnt sound right. Agree 100% with everything else though :)
Big K.R.I.T. along with J Cole and Kendrick Lamar put out the best entire hip-hop albums from front to back last year hands down. Krit is the only one not truly acknowledged and his album is a New Classic right along with J Cole and Kendrick!
LA Official That's a lie, that shows you have never listened to a Krit album or music! And since when is the club the measuring stick for good music. Most music in the club only sounds good, in the club!
Man K.R.I.T. gets no respect/recognition and its sad. He is one of the deepest, most conscious artists I've ever heard in my life. In time people are gonna regret not supporting him

People don't RESPECT REAL💯💯💯 and EVERYTHING he's saying once AGAIN is the TRUTH! MISSISSIPPI STAND UP👍👍👍💪💪💪glad you're reppin the South/Sip in A great way keep doing your thang sir..
Is this dude trying to say that the South gets ignored in the mainstream...? The South has been running shit for years. And if anything contributed to the deterioration of hip-hop recently it was guys like Soulja Boy and D4L and the other "ringtone rappers" who emerged in the mid- to late-2000's, many whom came from... the South. I respect Banner and his music, but he's way off point and mad at the wrong people.
Ian M See I hate when people say that. They weren't trying to make music to contribute to hip-hop. They made that for their hoods and for party music. It's not our fault that people chose to pick it up and spread it.
Not just that he saying when rappers from the south act humble they don't want to listen to that artist. Only when artist talk about fuckery people want to listen
I think he means rappers like Krit Z-ro etc the real lyricists from the south not that mainstream bullshit the media likes to push out and make seem like thats the only type of music the south has to offer
Isn't David Banner just as guilty for fucking hip-hop up, and now he wants to talk about it? The only songs I remember from him had classic lyricism such as "ever seen a Chevy with the butterfly doors? Stuntin is a habit, get like me." He never tried to create an intelligent song that I've heard, so why is he suddenly complaining about the state of hip-hop? He contributed to it.
If more of us were to gain a knowledge of self our community would flourish. But we've became comfortable in our current state and that means we are pussies when real issues come. We are the only group of people in the world who answer disrespect and violence with "prayer" and "demonstrations". Smh. Sick is disheartening and lame.
Much respect to David Banner, i cannot wait to put my hands on the album!!! Black People need real-life super heroes, this here is 1 of them!!! I also gotta revisit "Death of the Pop Star".
Such an amazing interview. David Banner is speaking pure facts! No lies told. And yes, Big K.R.I.T is completely underrated, yet his music slays majority of "hiphop" music today.
I don't like when ppl half truth stuff, you speak on police brutality and what not and showing how blacks are treated wrong, but cant speak on the stuff blacks do that put themselves in situations that get them in trouble, yes there are times where police are in the wrong but then black ppl are not some innocent victims either...if we're going to speak the truth tell the WHOLE truth and the stuff about "stop snitching" regardless it is the same, them not speaking on the bad cops is still the same as when the ppl don't want to tell on the thugs cus they think something will happen to them just like the good cops scared to speak on the bad cops cus they think something will happen...stop half stepping.
It's about been treated fairly open your damn eyes. If you think the black community has to become perfect in order to be treated RIGht then you're high. The oppressors know humans are incapable of being perfect. Fingers on one hand but not the same size
You are skirting around the problem, which is in MOST cases blacks are not treated fairly. The Roof kid KILLED 9 people in a CHURCH and ADMITTED to it. Guess what... He gets a trial as per law. Even gets to walk around without cuffs with a bullet proof vest on. On the other hand Gardner gets killed in the street for selling cigarettes... No one is asking for black people's wrong doing to go unchecked. We want equal treatment across the board. If you think that is too much to ask, then you are part of the problem...
If black people want respect we gotta build and have a economic base for our people so these young kids would have a job and not hustling. Money controls politicians and politicians control police. If we don't build a base we will always be low hanging fruit
Damn this dude has came a long way since "Like A Pimp" and "Cadillac on 22's". LMAO! Funny how now hip-hop is a joke yet, back in his hay days as an artist, he rapped about the same topics most of these rappers do nowadays. I do like his message though and I guess that's what matters the most.
iGoTtHEJuice sucka Yes, I've owned several of his albums. "Baptised in dirt", "Mississippi the Album", "Certified". I was a big fan of his music at one point in time.
I'm not much into hip hop but this sort of victimology and anger is astounding and unwarranted. At the same time I think a person can hold these views, which are deeply in need of development, and still be a good artist.
David banner don’t knows what he talking about. Blacks forgot about GOD. Rap back then had GOD in it. Hip hop now no GOD. In regular language the spiritual side of blacks been lost we had spirituality and love in the 90s it’s no love now becasue was we forgot about GOD. So that’s why everybody lost. We lost focus and you can feel weakness in peoole spirit it’s not strength. Everybody including banner just like how intelligent the sound black girl lost GOD and black men. And everybody lying to themselves. The south can’t rap they out of position white peoole laughing cause most of the hate is us against us. New York was running hip hop it’s was essence they had presence and love. Then the south lower the bar and everybody went with it and it weakened us as blacks. Because the south don’t really understand logic and sprituality they lying like they spiritual hip hoppers but they really not it’s just a front to prove that the south is a front why all of a sudden hip hop is all gay since the south rapping. Cause these real white people know these country rappers not spiritual like that and the proof is the reality. But we sit and act like what’s going on. What hip hop fuck up when New York has he crown no it’s was love everywhere people souls felt right. The south is just sin and fucking and party music you can transform into something that not in you. And that’s why rap is gay cause these southern rappers are spiritually lying and people are now looking like it. The west started fucking up hip hop first Then the south. Becasue they all were jealous of the real New York hip hop and they brought in the ignorance and everything becasue they don’t have the life source that New Yorkers have. And they ended up killing everything with secret hatred they hid from the east coast. Wake up nothing wrong. Hip hop is just with weak people who don’t actually understand it and trying to act like they do. And they hurting themselves and everybody else by not stopping with the madness.
He is right too about Southern rappers. People as a whole probably expect all Southern rappers to be ratchet and ignorant. There are so underground Southern rappers who sound just like late 80s early 90s NY rap from back in the day but they are not given the same exposure as the garbage on the airwaves!
I think he's wrong about the original job of a policeman. Towns and societies have always had some form of law enforcers since the dawn of civilizations, whether they be police, militias, etc.
David Banner is the Truth . We need to embrace more thinkers, activists, Real people who reach back to dust off what you walked on to show uou how that bridged was established.

My favorite quote from a time to kill:
"Yes they deserve to die, and I hope they burn in hell."
Why aren't people listening to men like this?
You do have people listening to men like him. I'm one of them were just slim.
Society has drugged up and dumb-downed and negatively influenced the young black men....they have planted seeds so know they can’t comprehend this type empowerment!!!!!
Because people don't want to feel judged and offended and that's sad because it's their demons that blind them like that to the truth that they need to hear to be free
because when you say something as stupid as "the ONLY REASON weed is moving towards legalization is because the governemnt knows how to tax it now" then no one should listen to you. this mans got a gray hairs and doesnt even know what the fuck is going on.
Bc black males are WEAK
But now it's hip *pop* though. Nasir declared hip hop (and then backtracked) dead in 2006. I'd say 2004 though. Most grown people feel the same way.
Hip-Hop really died in 2009-10. But the 90's and 2000's were the best decades in term of Hip-Hop

Erick Espinoza i agree
Erick Espinoza Wha??? 2014 FHD got a ton of shine, it even went platinum wtf. Tetsuo & Youth deserved that kind of attention too, actually even more so because it's a much better album.
ntalehxc tetsuo and youth was overlooked because of tpab was so overhyped....and Lupe's album was better

The God David Banner talking that real shit! He did a lecture with Dr. Umar Johnson recently. Banner been on his #RBG #BlackPower #UnapologeticallyAfrican shit HEAVY! I LOVE IT!
Umar Johnson is a fake....
june 7 gemini .. How?
1Southsideplaya I feel you King. I ask that you don't generalize everyone doing work because you have a certain section of disingenuous people. You wouldn't want someone putting you in the same category as a child molester because you two may have a few things in common. I can't speak for others but just to enlighten you....
I'm #RBG #BlackPower In my area, we have independent African centered schools for the babies (Uhuru Academy) were the school is supported by those that run it and people of African decent that donate resources. No white money or government money is accept.
Nu-Waters Food Cooperative is a black owned business that works with black farmers to feed the community
The #RBG #BlackPower section provides security for our neighborhoods in various areas so that we can police our own and limit our interactions with trigger happy white supremacist police.
If you wanna get involved and not just slander online, let's build King.
june 7 gemini .. What makes you come to that conclusion Queen?
This is why I wish Tupac was still here, he supported blacks, and he was the greatest rapper of all time

David Banner and Lord Jamar are the definition of freedom.
If you think that you're lost and blind like them

So does them mean less Lord Jamar and more David Banner?? I like DB but sometimes think he's over-hyped as a new age philosopher/thinker/teacher. (I don't know how he see's himself. I like LJ because he's kind of unapologetic for his opinions (even if they are twisted), feels no need to be politically correct, and he gives some him hop history.
I was wondering the same thing as to whether or not Banner is replacing Jamar. I hope not. Banner isn't bad tho..
Banner has a degree
Palm to face

Tyree Rizz So the only defense mechanism you have is to call ppl names instead of refute what they say?
Michael Love In cases the treatment isn't equal, but that's not in all of them.

Salute 2 David Banner
Becasue they all were jealous of the real
New York hip hop and they brought in the ignorance and everything becasue they don’t have the life source that New Yorkers have.
