- Recently I decided to move some of my personal journalling from a TN insert to a junk journal! Yay I feel so happy and comfortable in my junk journal so I am sharing a flip through of it today! let me know if you would like to see some 'journal with me' videos working in my junk journal.. thanks for watching!
Note: I have been moving house this last week so this video and another to be shared later were pre-recorded so that I could share them while i'm away! Please forgive me if I am slow to respond to comments! (And messages on other sites!)

So, I always think that we have these different names for notebooks/journals/sketchbooks, but really it's just different sizes and different papers inside. Everyone has preferences and sizes/styles that we are comfortable with, so we have to go with it! Sometimes I think the traveler's notebook size is smaller and more approachable, but I can understand that it can feel too small. It all depends on the project, I think. I definitely have journals in all different sizes and grab whatever I feel like at the moment!

Oh, I would definitely love to see journal with me videos. I love journaling and using planners. But I also love making junk journals and my own books. I would appreciate a demonstration on how I can combine these. This is a gorgeous junk journal.

Eloise Wilkin is my favourite illustrator too. I collect the Golden Books with her in it. Also Mabel Lucie Atwell, found a children's prayer book with her work in an op shop last week, so gorgeous and nostalgic. Adore those old-fashioned pictures, a world that is now sadly lost imo.
Me too! I have a collection I kind of just hoard a little 😅 my kids are a bit rough with their books just yet and these old ones are a little too precious at this point! My other fave is Shirley Hughes, you're right they capture a magic that's sadly almost all gone x

Wowzer Johanna, just love this new journal of yours. I am soo new to all of this and it is great to find a fellow Aussie with whom I can learn from. I love your journals and as I like to craft I would love to know where you collect your old antique style pictures and little card pieces like the little Indian card on your travel journal. I'm looking to make a cookbook for my sister in law inspired by your journals which are absolutely beautiful.

Hi Johanna!! I wanted to go back and look at your personal journal before watching your latest process video. I love this journal and it really has a lot of my own personal taste in it. I am also a big fan of vintage children's book ephemera and I have a nice little collection. I feel inspired to make a collage personal journal and you have certainly inspired me. I love collage too, but I often feel like I don't have the time to do it, but I will try to make time. I wonder if I already commented on this video yet... LOL!! In any case, did you make so many signatures so, that the book would lie nice and flat? I really like the eclectic feel of this journal and it comes together nicely even though the elements are often very different. I was wondering how many pages you have in each signature. I have some journals lined up for myself and hopefully, to sell soon, but I think I want to make something for myself. If you get a chance, let me know the answer to my question. Your op shop has great vintage children finds... we are not so lucky in that retrospect her in NYC. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work and hope to hear from you soon!! Hugs, Juliana

How do you keep your vintage music,magazine pages etc from tearing apart? I put a vintage paper in a signature and then it just fell out. I've been putting washi tape to keep them from falling apart.Any tips?
Jeanne Corsby-Hale I guess some are in better shape than others! If something is really fragile I won't often use it as a page, but you could strengthen it by backing to to more paper or putting some clear tape or something down the crease x
