From the surprise monkeys to the 7/11 stops and beautiful temples, this video is so entertaining - every km of the way! Great watch, thanks for sharing. Can't wait for the next one!! 🚴
You do the right thing by biking through secondary roads. I did Bangkok Chiang Mai trip twice, one 22 years ago another 20 years ago through the main highways in 5 days with group of bikers, staying in hotels, so packing is very light, not more than 5 kg.
Packing light is a good idea, my bike + bags weight around 35 kg, way too much! 🤦♂ but it's a good training! In 5 days! wow, respect :) I wonder how traffic was 22 years ago? And road conditions? Biking through secondary roads definitely is more fun :) Maybe time for a third trip? :P
This was such a great watch, felt like you brought us along. Your honesty and storytelling are so refreshing! And the humor caught me by surprise, made me lol You handled the mishaps with grace and positivity and never let it dampen your determination. A true adventure. 🙂 Consider me inspired!
Sponsor is the first local sport drink in Thailand. It has sugar, potassium and sodium. It was introduced into Thailand by the owner of Kathingdaeng (Red Bull) in a glass bottle costing 10 baht for about 3 decades and last year the price was raised to 12 baht. It is also available in can (bigger volume) at 14 baht. Thai and foreigner cyclists swear by this sport drink. Even though other brands are introduced over the years, Sponsor is still No.1.
great video, one thing that would improve it a lot for me would be llike some more information about where you stay every night, just the village name if available, I like to have a look at a map now and again....
Thank you for your feedback! I published an article with the exact route, maps, links to my accommodations and all the restaurants & cafes I stopped at: cycling.universal-traveller.com/bikepacking-bangkok-to-chiang-mai-thailand/
Make sure you have license and insurance for drone or the police will get beer money from you lol if not just be careful in bigger towns. Hope you using factor 50 lol
cycling at night in Thailand is dangerous because of the traffic! No problems with criminals, Thailand is a very safe country, I never had any problems at all :)

@@universaltraveller2 If you look at Google, it is about 700 km, so 5 days along the main highway is doable with only 5 kg bag.
you are very strong 👍

The yellow flower trees along the road, yellow trumpet, bloom all year round, but most commonly seen in December to February.

Between Bangkok and Chiang Mai I maybe saw 3 police cars haha but you're right! I have both, drone license for Thailand and insurance :)
What is the danger of cycling at night in Thailand? Perhaps traffic or criminal?

Hey! :)
May I share a clip from this channel, It should serve as a guideline for cycling in Chiang Mai. th-cam.com/video/TwWR1YYEoXE/w-d-xo.html
So you think you don't plan but really you plan but change your weak mind when you get tired. And those cokes and chips man! Absolute disaster!
u do it better then
Thank you for taking the time to watch my video! :)
Nothing like a good sugar hit to keep going on a long ride!
Type of coke and chips can make wonders… sometimes.
I rode same as Tour de France in 28 days and it helped me 😂🤪
