exactly. Fran Lebowitz is a crusty old %$^&. I really don't see why everyone is so deferential to her. She wrote a few humorous essay for Mademoiselle but her claim to fame seems to be just that she personifies the stereotypical upper east side jewish white lady who doesn't like anything or anyone. If anyone is ripe for being a target of satire it would be her, except for the fact that she is her own caricature.
@@bobf5360 Her justified claim to fame is her two fantastic books, Social Studies and Metropolitan Life, collections of her humor and satire. They still make me laugh decades later. Check them out and see if you still have the same opinion of her.

I remember watching that skit and thinking to myself that this is a future SNL classic! Kyle is phenomenal in it! I mean they both are, they nailed all the little tiny mannerisms, such as Fran subtly licking the edge of her mouth! 🤣🤣🤣

The show is the best it’s ever been.
Colbert brought his audience back Monday. And they are intrusive. The laughter of the crew is intimate and much more pleasant.
I disagree… there’s something so exciting about seeing these amazing personalities (who have delicates their entire lives to performing for audiences) get to do what they love again. Shoutout to the late night hosts for holding it together, but they deserve to be in front of a crowd again!

@@mjmaccabee7252 He thinks he’s funny but he’s so not. He’s a token. I haven’t watched that show in probably two years. Seth doesn’t need to dance around the stage for attention. His intelligence, his wit, his crew, his interview skills, his genuine personality and his delivery far outshine everyone else.
Those two playing Lebowitz and Scorcese was one of the best moments on SNL this season. I loved it!

Fran Lebowitz hasn’t written anything of note since 1981. At this point she’s just yelling “get off my lawn”.
Because she doesn't need to. Be honest: wouldn't you love to make a fabulous living just sitting around with people and being yourself? She doesn't try to pass herself off as a great writer or as prolific. In fact, she has made a long standing joke out of how long she's had writer's block.
Bowen might be the funniest human ever, definitely the funniest iceberg ever, and Fran Lebowitz is the one who's bad at doing impressions of HERSELF, bc Bowen is a genius

This is a typical scam. People will also come up to you and say you knocked into them and broke the bottles in their bag - liquor, glass food jars, whatever, and then they'll insist you buy them xyz or give them $40 for whatever they claim you broke.... it's never happened to me but it's happened to my friends from Indiana and Ohio multiple times.

An imitation is a heightened version of the imitatee…although Fran is less than the imitation…it was still a sweet, funny, insightful imitation of Fran…. And a well written skit…. Hope he does her again… she needs to video tape herself and celebrate that she was done!
