Regarding the DC/DC charger: he never indicated if the converter was upgraded to LiFePo capabilities. Additionally could the wire gauge and distance from his existing converter to the LiFePo be insufficient to handle a faster charge?

Tormenting Todd towards a Tech Tip Tuesday tongue twister to try to tackle getting on the blooper reel. Also, a question, do you recommend putting screens on the fridge, hot water heater and furnace openings to keep out bugs? If bugs are a safety hazard or a problem, why don't they come with screens from the manufactures? Thanks!

I live in Arizona so we don't really have any bugs like they do in other parts of the country. Sure screens can help but they also reduce your ventilation and also voids your warranty on your fridge and water heater, be sure to remove screens before you take your RV in for any warranty work to be done on these appliances.

I have a question for you I love your videos are great I have a 2007 Fleetwood Terra LX I'm getting power from my alternator to my starting battery but from my house batteries I'm not getting any charge so I know I'm getting charged from my starter from my alternator to my starting battery but not to my two house batteries that are two 6 volt batteries they're telling me it's the the front of the engine there that's the main components but they're all rusted but it's not that's not all rusted is there a sensor or a solenoid or something so in order to keep up my house batteries when I'm on the road I have to run my generator any suggestions of what this problem can be why I'm not getting power to my two house batteries

On the auto transfer switch. Could you check for voltage drop across the contacts. Line 1 to load to see voltage drop.

Yes but the loose connection could be on the dc side so using the treat switch only proves the ac side

Definitely love all the information you put out every week. I do have a problem I can't figure out what is going on. I have a lippert tankless water heater that keeps turning off when I turn on the cold water to adjust the temperature. If I run just the hot water the hot water heater runs fine with no issues. I also put a completely full propane tank on the RV thinking I was low on propane but it still didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe a temperature sensor gone bad.

Can you send a Big Beard Battery to Will Prowse to do a review on it?

Dear Todd. Great content on all your videos. Master of the TH-cam. I have a 2019 Sunseeker 3250 LA motorhome. When I’m out and I set the levels from my lip leveling system it levels fine next day after I get up you can feel people walking around in the motorhome, is there a way to fix my problem?

The ground is probably settling and you need to relieve again.

While on the topic of batteries. In a 12V system with 3x lead acid batteries rated at 90 Ah each, what is the max charge current. I know for lead acid it's recommended to not exceed 30% of the Ah capacity. So if that is about 25 amps, does it mean I can multiply by 3 (because 3 batteries) or is it 25 amps for the entire battery bank?

I too have a few battery questions. I have a truck camper that I've been using 24/7 for the last five years. I have 2-6 volt deep cycle FLA connected in series to supply my 12 volts. The batteries were new 5 years ago.
The first question is what size wire should I be using for the charger to battery bank and from the battery bank to the 2kw continuous (4kw surge) inverter? At present, I'm using 4 ga. stranded. The batteries and the charger and inverter are about 3 ft away from each other. Should I move up to something like 0/1?
The next question is when charging the batteries, shore power or my portable generator starts at 14.6 to 14.8 volts and when I hear the load come off the genny, the voltage is 13.6. I shut down the genny and after a bit the batteries settle down to around 12.9 volts. As soon as I turn on the inverter, the voltage drops to around 11.9 volts. My question is are these batteries on their last legs or am I back to wire sizing?
    Thanks

Sound like your batteries need to be replaced and your cable sizzle is too small for a 4000 watt inverter. I have a 3000 watt inverter and my cable size is #2 odd. If you have to replace your batteries go with lithium they are much cheaper now.

@@EarlBalentine I'm in Canada, nothing is cheap here. LiPho4's here start at $1000 for a single 12v 90ah and go up rapidly. I'm also a little restricted by size. The battery area will house 2 group 24's or I might be able to shoehorn in 2 group 27's before I have to start renovating.

12.2 volts is a 50% discharged battery and I’m guessing the batteries have been discharged below 50% too many times

My leveling system and my slides won't work with batteries or shore power... I need help . I put 2 new batteries in. I have a 2022 grand Design RES-R . CAN YOU PLEASE HELP 🙏🏻.

      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

I would have you call grave design to ask which. Short stop fuse is the leveling system on. If everything that is 12v works but the leveling system that’s where I would start. At the fuse for that circuit.

@@NationalRVTrainingAcademy Does your slides work with the tow vehicle plugged into trailer and the engine is running. If slides still don't work then probably a fuse.
