IT WORKED! You saved me an expensive and nerve-wracking trip to the podiatrist. I spent the past 10 minutes digging through my YT history to find this video again and share my experience: I tried to remove the ingrown nail over several days, but it was too deep, swollen, and painful to make any progress. With the symptoms getting worse each day, I was getting desperate. I attempted this cotton method. By the 4th day of packing the cotton into the crease of my nail, it had opened up enough to easily see and remove the nail. Thank you so much!
Had to come back to comment- I did this two weeks or so ago and it absolutely worked!!! When I started I couldn’t find the edge of my nail and my toe was in so much pain it throbbed with my heartbeat sometimes. Two days in I was able to dig out the edge of my toenail. Six days in the pain was GONE. Thank you for sharing this, you saved me a lot of time, pain and money!
I hope this works. Update: It worked. I had to pack the cotton wool under the front edge and corner of my nail, rather than down the side. It took around 2 weeks but the pain is all gone now. I wore a sleeve in the shower and changed the cotton wool every few days. I avoided using superglue and it stayed in place fine.
