@runtothetopelise thank you for the honest and informative review, I have subscribed to support your channel looking forward to future reviews. Also do you mind telling me the name and artist of your entry song? This song has been stuck in my head since I have heard here and need to add it to my run playlist 😅.
Did first 10 k Tempo run in Cielo X1. I have wide feet and they feel perfect. First Hoka that fits me TTS. They feel very bouncy but they actually reminded me of the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1. Same ride.. Heavier.. More stable.. Like a training partner for the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1. Fist I thought its like Alphafly but the longer I run it felt like a chubby brother of the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1. Definitely not a racing shoe for me. By the way.. I ❤ the laces 🎉.
@@runtothetopelise still good as new ! I’ve received them as Christmas gift on and I’ve used only 4 or 5 times (two races and intervals training). So light I thought the box was empty 😂
I came to your channel because I was worried about the fit as I just ordered a pair in my usual size. For the original Metaspeed Sky I had to go up half a size from my US9.5 to US10. But for the Sky+ I went with my usual US9.5 and they fitted well. For these ones, I went with US9.5 so I'm crossing my fingers I made the right choice. I should get them later today.
It’s hard to compare based on my first long run, because ASICS Paris midsole is narrower than NB, so the less stability give different under feet feel. I’m a huge fan of new balance fuel cell :)
Nice review. Interested in your impressions after the long run. I am looking at my new pair but can't risk running in them yet since my marathon is coming up next week. Comparison to the VF3 would be helpful (since that is my current shoe of choice). Good luck at London!
Honestly.. The shoe sounds very much like my experience with the Metaspeed Edge plus and Sky plus. If the midsole does not soften up to you then I don't know if it is worth the upgrade for me 😅
@@Fozzee.1970 haven't put many miles on it at all. Had the magic speed 2 too and they seem similar. Just bad, no springy foam. I got sucked in by the shill Kofuzi.
@@Fozzee.1970 I only did one run in it. But I could tell the foam and cushioning is not there. Also tried the magic speed 2 before that which also had no softness. Got sucked in by paid Asics shills like kofuzi but now moved on from Asics. Saucony EP3 and Adidas AP3 are far superior race shoes. There's a reason there's always a ton of Metaspeeds on the shelves. Glad they worked for you though John :-)
Look for Run like Heller in TH-cam she does a review with both and explains the difference but from what I've seen most people go for the edge as the plate is more curved and dips down into the midsole so it's possible it's not as harsh and may offer more spring back
Mostly because of the plate position, similar to vaporfly. Based on asics's weird marketing on Stride(sky) vs. Cadence(edge), I noticed I usually ran at a higher cadence during workouts (faster pace) comparing to easy runs. So i made an assumption that I am more of a cadence runner :)
@@runtothetopelise thanks for your thoughts. I wonder if Asics made a mistake by making 2 shoes for marathon racing and making people decide. It's hard enough for me to pick between Vaporfly 3 vs Alphafly 3 (both of which I own) for my next marathon 😵💫😂
@runtothetopelise They're great. I ran a really good race in them. My only complaint is my arches were pretty sore after 13 miles. Otherwise, they are very responsive and light. It took a bit to get into a good rhythm, but once I found the sweet spot in the shoes, my pace increased.
I was out of commission for a week :( I will use them next week for workouts! I do think asics foams are very resilient, I am just guessing asics metaspeed foam will outlast zoomx a lot, like fuelcell.
I noticed the same thing, but it didn't bother me (didn't feel it during the run, only found out after coming home), and I was wearing ultra thin socks.
Edge has a similar plate position to Vaporfly, I also only have the budget for one pair of ASICS lol. SF is a beautiful city to run around and build leg strength with these hills :)
it's not good. i said i'm not buying running shoe in 2024. it's only march and i'm already itching to get the edge paris. fortunately they are not available in my size in running warehouse
This is a race shoe. Telling us how the shoe feels on a recovery day isn't helpful. I will admit I watched the entire review because she is very attractive.

burn water - lionheart inside :) Thank you.
Btw, your comparison with the VP3 is interesting. I get along with the VF3 so hopefully, the same goes with the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris.

For sunglasses try Sunday Shades from Singapore. They're good for runners.
Great review. Been looking for another carbon plate shoe to alternate with my vaporfly 3.
They are similar. edge paris is slightly firmer with better heel lock down. Vaporfly is softer because zoomx is just superb!
Thanks for the video. One question. Do you consider that this model is narrower inside than the metaspeed edge plus? or is similar
Hi! I don’t have the edge plus actually!
It’s firm because it’s new ! And as you’ve mentioned it, not made for daily training. I have the previous, used for speed training and race day !
How are the shoes holding up? I feel FFTurbo+ might be super resilient.

Wondering what you found as I am trying to figure out what size to order. The unisex sizing doesn't work well for me.
Hi Elise! Is there a bib difference in the cushioning of the asics paris and the nb4? brazil look at you!

Thanks Alisse great video I’m wondering if you’ll be trying out the Asics Paris sky?
I would love to but not planning to buy one at the moment. Maybe next training block!
I lied, I end up getting the sky Paris 😅

Good luck with your race!!! I agree not to test new shoes (especially racing shoes) when your racing is coming up so close.

Metaspeed sky plus was the worse "supershoe" I've ever bought. Has as much cushion as a piece of cardboard.. #regret
How many miles did you do in it? I felt meh about it at first but it got better as it broke in. @@troycambo

The Metaspeed Sky Paris is a lot softer feeling than the Edge due to the high plate configuration of the former.
Now I think I might like Sky more haha
I heard the Edge is softer. They said this on Believe In the Run review
the Edge is more bouncier as if there is airsack like feeling of Nike AF3 somewhere between mid or fore foot@@MR-wh5wp
Doggie so cute!!
I am loving my Edge Paris's!!!!
Aww thank you!
@@runtothetopelise You’re welcome, Elise. And thank you for your reviews. I appreciate how detailed and informative they are. Keep them coming!
I hope I didn't make the mistake in buying the Sky's. They should be arriving tomorrow. It seems like people are gravitating to the Edges.
Let us know how do you like them!
@runtothetopelise I will. I'll be running in them this weekend for the Run to the Pub Half Marathon in Bozeman, MT. Hopefully I run a PR.

Is the Sky Paris a narrow width shoe
i want to get these as my next race day shoe, but the edge paris is sold out everywhere in my size.
I like Acisc...very good sneakers..salutte from Slovenia
ejga ta star :)
Waiting for my Edge Paris to arrive still, but in the Edge + I can’t run slower than an 8 min/mile to get the effect of the shoe.
I may have similar thoughts. Look forward to trying them for long runs at MP
Are you still using this shoe? How many miles have you logged in to this shoes? what mile do you think it will wear out or disposed?

then please do a review if you have reached 300 miles on that shoes. @@runtothetopelise
Not very sure why the tongue on my Edge slips back into the shoe after 5km and continues to choke up. Hate it after 10km

You need to do 30 miles to see if the midsole opens up...
That’s the plan!
thank you
You buy the carpet to match the dog or vice versa ❤
It’s called a rug !!!
Dog came first, carpet/rug came after haha.
Why didn't you buy the Metaspeed Sky Paris instead since they are less firm? I miss SF! Used to live there for 13 years!

I mostly reject shoes that smell bad ... Even if reviews says they are top of the line good
Day 1, they smell pretty crazy out of the box. Day2, barely noticed if you don't sniff closely.
Exactly. There are so many great shoes that don’t smell horribly
