Unlike "The Blues Brothers" that, 44 years after it's initial screening, is still shown in cinemas for the sole purpose of fans to get involved and act out parts of the movie, for everyone's added entertainment. A place where I can be anything. I better be the most shallow, mundane, boring of myself possible. Look at my tweets about doing the dishes!" and everyone pretended that was interesting and special. Although I was also sat right next to a group of unruly misbehaved children with a caregiver who didn't even acknowledge them unless they were asking for snacks from the snack box she was holding so that also bothered me but I definitely couldn't have said anything to the caregiver of those children either now I'm not sure if it's normal for neurotypical people to chat to their friends or sing along while In the cinema, but I know that as a small child I was told there is no noise making in the cinema and as a slightly older child I was told that The only screen that's allowed to be looked at in the cinema should be the big one and that phone's in any other devices should be switched off so I follow those rules and get upset when other people don't just not enough to say anything because I also know It's a societal rule that it's rude to bother strangers.😢
They’ve forgotten that the green witch is a CHARACTER. No one is connecting with the actress on a personal level, they’re identifying with the character she was playing.

@@stillcantbesilencedevennow Okay Negative Nancy. I assume you don't do anything for fun then You have no hobbies. You don't do anything because society is screwed? And what exactly are you doing to change things telling people off for having a good time in the comment section? Well that's a start I guess but as someone who isn't such a Negative Nancy (I am a bit but it's kind of my New year's resolution to not be so negative) I don't see things that way. There are problems for sure and society worldwide has been on the decline at least over the last 5 years perhaps more but there are problems everywhere. T here are children are suffering all over the world so does that mean we should just not have any enjoyment in our own lives. And here's the kicker. We can't do anything about it anyway. So making ourselves miserable by not having any enjoyment in our lives. Not doing anything for fun Just sitting around Doom scrolling and thinking about how terrible everything is won't solve anything The best we can do is vote in elections for people who promise to do things closest to what we think is right (although chances are they're lying anyway) or campaign hard for years and at best get a condolence prize. But I suspect that things aren't as bad as you even think they are. I think you have something called depression so you see the black and darkness and evil in everything and you want to make that everybody else's problem well. I'm sorry but your problem is your problem and you need to stop making it everyone else's.
How I feel about singing: it should never be done live, that can really throw off the performers and also it's super rude. In the theater? MAYBE. But ONLY in a special sing-along version of the movie, where everyone can sing. That sounds like it could be fun as long as everyone remembers to be polite to people who can't carry a tune in a bucket. I love the music of Wicked though I haven't gone to see any of the productions, live or theater, and I'd love to go to a sing-along production, but I would never sing in a normal theater experience.
Nobody sang at any of the normal showings I went to, and they specifically announced that sing-a-long showings would be coming soon when the movie first came out. It was expected and welcomed. If someone bought a ticket to the sing-a-long and got annoyed at people singing, that's on them. 😂 I'm sorry, but this take is so detached from the reality of things. Probably just for rage bait.
Gay cult classics are fucking awesome mate Watch blue is the warmest color, beautiful movie, the story is heart wretching, and there's lots of lesbian sex lmao
My husband and I are lord of the rings fans. We've been going to the live orchestra showings of the movies each year. And the people clapping and cheering, laughing at meme moments, laughing at parts that are meant to be funny as if they've never heard it before and it's the most hilarious thing they've ever heard, and quoting all of the words has got to be the most insufferable thing ever. Watch the movie, appreciate the music, and discuss it with people after it's over. It's the worst. This year we are going to sit in bad seats in the hopes that we'll be further away from most people.
My co-worker who calls herself a theater kid (even though she has never seen "The King and I" or knows what it is) tried to justify to me singing in the movies. I like the songs too, like I always humm along with "Popular" when I hear it but I'm not going to do so in a movie theater. Actually Popular and Loathing are the one 2 songs I know. LOL
14:57 a lot of theaters in America use these separate recliner like chairs for the seats, so at minimum he wouldn’t have been shaking the people next to him?

@chicoandthem4n With Tourette's people actually can't control speaking. With Tourette's people can just start saying stuff without meaning to and they can also hit themselves and that.
The ONLY time it is acceptable to even applaud in a theater DURING a movie is on opening night of a big movie like Endgame or some big event movie moment (cap saying avengers assemble or gohan going Beast for example) and even then you gotta use digression and NOT make too much of a scene

Bring on the NDA release date... You know someones gonna squil for sure. From the lead actresses weird mental breakdowns to their scary and noticeble skeletal appearance from filming to the press junket... You know some shit happened
I looked up the meaning of Holding Space. Because I am nosy. This is what Wikipedia had: "Holding space" is a psychology concept meaning towards creating a safe space for someone or something by being present for them, physically, emotionally and mentally without judgement. The concept of "holding" was coined by Donald Winnicott in 1960 in a paper on the relationship of infants and parents and has since seen evolving use in the field of psychotherapy. The term "holding space" was popularized around 2015 by Heather Plett in a blog post about the concept.

They end up breaking up the fight by being overly emotional. The two fighting people end up comforting them instead. (I've actually seen this happen IRL)
I hate when anyone at a public event where we're there to watch/here someone/thing, be it a movie or concert, makes noise that I hear instead of what I paid to hear
Wow what are they doing to those guys? They continuously look 2 blinks away from bawling their eyes out when they're not acting like they're high and fascinated by every little mote of dust that floats past.
This is what happens when people who have been losers their entire lives are suddenly told they aren't. Social hierarchy has been turned upside down. There are no morals or shame anymore, and most people are just weak. But that's ok, because we will all be speaking mandarin soon anyways, and they won't make it lol.
As a huge fan of Wicked and musical theater, I was already sus at a movie adaptation (Hollywood generally doesn't handle them well). Then they announced Ariana Grande of all people, and now this whole clusterfuck of a marketing campaign. Honestly Ariana and Cynthia just seem so fake and insincere in these interviews, coupled with the theater kids now signing in the theaters, makes me so put off this whole experience. And I'm basically the prime demographic. No way am I paying 30 bucks to watch shameless Oscar-bait only to be stuck next to some inconsiderate doof with main character syndrome. Talk about a lose-lose situation.
I haven't seen the musical but I would like to but I thought the movie was pretty good. Then again maybe if I'd seen the musical I would hate it so I don't know.

7:17 "I don't know what's going on in this clip with Jeff Goldblum"
Bro that's just Jeff Goldblum being Jeff Goldblum. Has nothing to do with Wicked
Fans: “I'll get you next time my pretty!”
The Witch: “THE F🌪️K YOU AIN’T!” (throws water on herself)
They’ve forgotten that the green witch is a CHARACTER. No one is connecting with the actress on a personal level, they’re identifying with the character she was playing.
Well, the actress does betray her really well, though I don't think she would be relatable if the actress was terrible.
They have sing-along versions at my local cinema for this reason.
people like this are the worst
Im glad being a theater kid just made me pretentious instead of whatever those things singing in theaters are. I may be a hater but at least I know how to act in public.
The main character syndrome of these people is so annoying. Worse, they think they can sing well 😭
I can't, but that does not stop me. Just pick the right places. Car, shower. Did forget the car window was open ones, untill I noticed the cyclist staring at me at the trafic light. I laughed. They laughed. Winwin.
Even if their singing It's absolutely beautiful like professional. I don't care. I came here to watch a movie and I didn't pay for the sing along the screening So the only voices I want to hear are the ones coming from the speakers.
The female interviewer is definitely on a watch list😮
people who get overly connected at movies should always be called out if they disrupt.
And theater kids wonder why everybody thinks they're annoying.
Make Insane Asylums Great AGAIN!!
The ones from the fifties specifically
Also - Erivo going after that fan for making a movie poster in the style of the original poster for the musical is the height of arrogance and narcissism. It’s obnoxious on a level that makes me hope their career collapses.
And then encouraging people to sing over her. No logic to it.
I went with my mum in the UK and I didn't notice anyone singing along with the songs. I enjoyed the experience, but would have been annoyed if someone started singing.
My partner and I saw the stage show in England. I enjoyed the story more than the music. She loved it.
I'm not gonna go see it but thank fuck we seem to have it sorted
Nah. This ish is lame AF. London burns, kids are sacrificial lambs, but yeah, watching "Wicked" is a priority. 😅 Our politicians sell us out, and people just keep devouring escapist tripe.

Okay Negative Nancy.
here are children are suffering all over the world so does that mean we should just not have any enjoyment in our own lives.
7:45 i thought she was trying to get rid of a fly, what she dose would never in a million years get rid of a helicopter

😂 You being pissed about everything is as funny as them crying about everything. I'm definitely subscribing 😂
Holding space is pretty easy to explain; You change the vacant to occupied in the thunderbox.
That must be where they’re doing the singing and whatnot… now it makes sense
Or the restroom. Very important to hold space there. Especially after eating Taco Bell. 😂
Interdimensional cable, lol I lost it 😅
How I feel about singing: it should never be done live, that can really throw off the performers and also it's super rude.
12:29 remember when a actors goal was to lose themselves in the characters
That AI clip of the characters fighting is possibly the greatest use of AI to date. Beat that, Skynet!
They both look like a before and after of how Ariana grande used to look

I’ve been using “in my fanfic” lately lol

Every time I see a clip of these two I‘m just feeling so much cringe, it‘s unbelievable
Dang it! Everybody knows a cinema is a restaurant not a stage.
Secondhand cringe is strong with this movie. It’s giving gay cult classic vibes if I’m honest.
It's a musical.... i thought that was self-descriptive of a gay homo-erotic experience!
Gay cult classics are fucking awesome mate
Watch blue is the warmest color, beautiful movie, the story is heart wretching, and there's lots of lesbian sex lmao
There was a family of four women at my showing that spoke loudly nonstop for the first hour so we left and had to buy more tickets another night.
THANK YOU for calling out this 🐂💩!!!!
I went to see it with a female friend. It was unbearable. I had to wear headphones end listen to music
LOL
"Freeeeeeedoooooom!"🎵
"AAAOOOUUUUUAAAHHHHHH!"
Hey. You. Me. Parking lot. Now.
"What?"
We're fighting. Now.
"I'm just singing, I've got stage fri-"
_NOW._
If someone’s singing you can bet I’m getting a refund.
12:10 I thought the poster was going to be a poorly edited version of the kangaroo pose... an "homage" to our good friend
14:57 a lot of theaters in America use these separate recliner like chairs for the seats, so at minimum he wouldn’t have been shaking the people next to him?
I haven't been to the cinema in 20 years because i have Tourette's.
Of course i can still go if i want, but i choose not to because >>I DON'T WANT TO DISTURB THE OTHER PATRONS
You can't put tape over ur mouth? How can you not control your voice?
@chicoandthem4n With Tourette's people actually can't control speaking. With Tourette's people can just start saying stuff without meaning to and they can also hit themselves and that.
The first video, with all due disrespect, is the gayest thing i have ever witnessed.
Ariana Grande is looking healthy 😬. 😂
anorexia healthy
The chick that licked ice cream and said Americans were garbage is starting to look like her soul, yeah??
Homewrecking must be taking its toll on her...
LOl yeah she was already tiny now she's a pebble like get help
The ONLY time it is acceptable to even applaud in a theater DURING a movie is on opening night of a big movie like Endgame or some big event movie moment (cap saying avengers assemble or gohan going Beast for example) and even then you gotta use digression and NOT make too much of a scene
As a theater kid these ppl guve us a bad name and we already were near yhe bottom..thx ppl
Holding space is therapy talk for giving something consideration
Such a foreign concept, that you need sit silently, feel into your body and carve out a space in yourself as an emotional being to know you like a song about going against status quo
Bring on the NDA release date... You know someones gonna squil for sure. From the lead actresses weird mental breakdowns to their scary and noticeble skeletal appearance from filming to the press junket... You know some shit happened
5:02 isn't it when you hold in a fart?
😅😂😅
I looked up the meaning of Holding Space. Because I am nosy. This is what Wikipedia had: "Holding space" is a psychology concept meaning towards creating a safe space for someone or something by being present for them, physically, emotionally and mentally without judgement.
The concept of "holding" was coined by Donald Winnicott in 1960 in a paper on the relationship of infants and parents and has since seen evolving use in the field of psychotherapy. The term "holding space" was popularized around 2015 by Heather Plett in a blog post about the concept.
We saw it in Australia, no one was singing, so I think it is just America where the problem is.
MBIC, you SAW the actual "problem" and paid for it. You're PART of the "problem".
I wanna see a movie where they put a bunch of these people on a stranded island to see what happens.
The only space holding I did was as a kid. When in a que and my brotherhood to step out of the que for a minute.
Same but I hated that because they will always come back when I was literally next in line. Sometimes when the cashier would be scanning the items and because I was a child I didn't have the money to pay for any of it.
UGHHHH I ALWAYS HATE THAT FIRST CLIP like dude stooooppppp. Maaan some people are selfish. Also the interviews are so weird lmao, like they did something SO GROUND BREAKING
I had a bad luck cause people in the movie theater were talking so loud, talking about random stuff ,recording the movie etc and we were only 6 people😂😂😂 I was about to dump my brother there😅
Ariana and Cynthia feel like the two girls who after a fight went down in front of them would have an emotional breakdown and make it about them.
Lol the barrel of a camera. How dare you THIS IS ABOUT ME!!
Good to see Dennis Rodman in Wicked
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
1:13 did you like it?
Wouldn't people singing in the cinema be 'erasing' her voice? She has conflicting standards of craziness I guess.
Wow what are they doing to those guys? They continuously look 2 blinks away from bawling their eyes out when they're not acting like they're high and fascinated by every little mote of dust that floats past.
Singing in theater is CRAZY. I would literally call the manager if that happens while I'm watching the movie.
He indeed did not nail it at all
This is what happens when people who have been losers their entire lives are suddenly told they aren't. Social hierarchy has been turned upside down. There are no morals or shame anymore, and most people are just weak. But that's ok, because we will all be speaking mandarin soon anyways, and they won't make it lol.
Part of me wishes you were right. Part of me hopes you are. Another part fears the opponents we face aren't strong enough to even give us a good row.
Theater kids scare me.
Then again maybe if I'd seen the musical I would hate it so I don't know.
this shit is so cringe. Literally makes me want to not participate in any culture of any kind and be a hermit. It all feels so fucking performative.
Just you saying literally is enough for me to opt our.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates the fact they didn't use dwarves for the munchkins
A lot of theatres in Canada, and I'm assuming the US are doing specific "sing along" showings of wicked.
