      They are artificially attempting to create cult status for the movie, which won't last. Unlike "The Blues Brothers" that, 44 years after it's initial screening, is still shown in cinemas for the sole purpose of fans to get involved and act out parts of the movie, for everyone's added entertainment.
      Edit to add: or "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" with 49 years, "Buy an umbrella you cheap b***h!"

    This right here is why I stopped being a "theater kid". Theater is FUN. It's such a rush! But it's frustrating being around people who act like performing in the local theater's rendition of "Fiddler on the Roof" is akin to being an ER surgeon or something, like they're god's gift to the human race. Not ALL theater kids are like this, but there's always at least one who just cannot stop trying to be the center of attention in every single scenario they are in. It's exhausting.

    • @GFXCXZ
      @GFXCXZ หลายเดือนก่อน

      Worst than main character syndrome.
      It's social media syndrome. When social media came out. There was like the first stages. Where people went "oh, I should actually present something interesting now I can dissociate myself with my boring life. Here my favorite music, a dedicate playlist. I'm RP'ing as a newcasting dog on my blog with a comic" ectr.
      Then the second wave of social media came out with things like facebook and tumblr and the idea of "The net is an oasis made by people, for people and you can express true authentic characteristics in abstract and interesting ways" to virtue signaling, social games of real life. They post their real names, thier face and they try to hybrid with the first one by merging their real persona and social obligations with things they think will make them interesting. It's one of the reason tumblr had everyone convinced they were trivector quadrikin numersexuals and stuff. But that was just the transition, political merging of the final stage of pure "the net. A place where I can be anything. I better be the most shallow, mundane, boring of myself possible. Look at my tweets about doing the dishes!" and everyone pretended that was interesting and special.
      This is all just an extension of that. We had the net and when normies got their hands on it. They said "Wow, this is great. But what if we made it entirely about real life political and social posturing at others expenses like the crappier side of the normal world!"
      It's twitter syndrome, that escaped twitter. Mundanity praised as interesting, inactivity praised as activity, non commital superficial posings of emotions and public displays praised as sincere and important.

      That's my case anyway. That's why when I actually went to see Wicked with my friend yesterday I ended up getting kind of upset with her because she kept trying to sing along and talk to me and then at some point she just started texting her boyfriend which bothered me personally but I couldn't really say anything about that because she wasn't making any noise. Although I was also sat right next to a group of unruly misbehaved children with a caregiver who didn't even acknowledge them unless they were asking for snacks from the snack box she was holding so that also bothered me but I definitely couldn't have said anything to the caregiver of those children either now I'm not sure if it's normal for neurotypical people to chat to their friends or sing along while In the cinema, but I know that as a small child I was told there is no noise making in the cinema and as a slightly older child I was told that The only screen that's allowed to be looked at in the cinema should be the big one and that phone's in any other devices should be switched off so I follow those rules and get upset when other people don't just not enough to say anything because I also know It's a societal rule that it's rude to bother strangers.😢

      Okay Negative Nancy.
      I assume you don't do anything for fun then You have no hobbies. You don't do anything because society is screwed?
      And what exactly are you doing to change things telling people off for having a good time in the comment section?
      Well that's a start I guess but as someone who isn't such a Negative Nancy (I am a bit but it's kind of my New year's resolution to not be so negative) I don't see things that way. There are problems for sure and society worldwide has been on the decline at least over the last 5 years perhaps more but there are problems everywhere. T
      here are children are suffering all over the world so does that mean we should just not have any enjoyment in our own lives.
      And here's the kicker. We can't do anything about it anyway. So making ourselves miserable by not having any enjoyment in our lives. Not doing anything for fun Just sitting around Doom scrolling and thinking about how terrible everything is won't solve anything The best we can do is vote in elections for people who promise to do things closest to what we think is right (although chances are they're lying anyway) or campaign hard for years and at best get a condolence prize.
      But I suspect that things aren't as bad as you even think they are. I think you have something called depression so you see the black and darkness and evil in everything and you want to make that everybody else's problem well. I'm sorry but your problem is your problem and you need to stop making it everyone else's.

    How I feel about singing: it should never be done live, that can really throw off the performers and also it's super rude. In the theater? MAYBE. But ONLY in a special sing-along version of the movie, where everyone can sing. That sounds like it could be fun as long as everyone remembers to be polite to people who can't carry a tune in a bucket. I love the music of Wicked though I haven't gone to see any of the productions, live or theater, and I'd love to go to a sing-along production, but I would never sing in a normal theater experience.

    The concept of "holding" was coined by Donald Winnicott in 1960 in a paper on the relationship of infants and parents and has since seen evolving use in the field of psychotherapy. The term "holding space" was popularized around 2015 by Heather Plett in a blog post about the concept.
