I smiled ALL the time I was watching this. Malta 🇲🇹 is my favourite country in the world and to see it’s stunning beauty again, melted my heart. Albeit this was 11 years ago, I can remember when the buses were green and called “Green Godesses”. I took my Mum back there the year before Lockdown and I felt like I was home again. I would have moved there and married my Maltese boyfriend but family commitments in the UK deprived me of this privilege. Thank you for bringing the Joy of Malta 🇲🇹 to us all, especially me!
This has made me long to be back again. I lived in Malta as a child, and have been back at regular intervals, for me there is nowhere like it and this film captures it all perfectly. Watching this can make the time between trips better.
This video is a life saver. I'll be moving to Malta, a country which I barely know anything about, and this documentary is the best summary I've found. Many thanks
I visit Malta twice, went all over the island for half nothing on the old and newer bus's,lovley people, great architectural sights, wonderful weather, wish to be there again, harbour cruise from sliema and a stroll through mdina is a must.
We have been regular visitors to Malta over the last 20 years and seen many changes most for the better we will be going again this year (11 days and counting). We have made many maltese friends love the people and the way of life.If we had the money and time we would stay there and holiday in the UK maybe one day!!
Nice to see Malta from this perspective. Being Maltese, a lot of times we tend to take stuff too much for granted and miss the beauty, culture and character that we're surrounded with. Excellent documentary. The funny thing is that I came to know about it thanks to someone in the Czech Republic!
If life allowed, I'd love to live in Malta.. beautiful islands, wonderful people, gorgeous weather, fabulous eateries and an abundance of fantastic history .. much love to Malta and Gozo x
cont., The Maltese people are warm and friendly and most speak very good English. When I went there, I always rented an open ' Maruti' jeep, and spent many happy days exploring the small out of the way villages . Malta is a gem, a true jewel of the Med, and will a;ways live in my heart.
I got a flat in Malta and my wife is Maltese. I'm retiring there eventually. Peviously lived there for two years. This vid has brought back a lot of memories.
Late to this video. But thank you so much. I am visiting alta in JUne and having seen the love you demonstrate for this small island, I cannot wait. Enjoy your travels whilst you can people xx
You captured Malta 🇲🇹 perfectly. These tiny island are full of history, fantastic places and delicious food. Everting for young and old to see and do. I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing footage and commentary. Thank you for sharing, well done 👍😍🤩
A very good and informative video!!! This is HOW videos for tourists shall be made!!! Not kinda formal dry videos, but like that - showing all places live, some interesting stuff just "straight from the street". And it is made with the heart - not like other "artificially sweet promo movies". Even the choice of music is super. VERY GOOD JOB!!! And that changed upside down my family holidays plans for 2012 :) After this video it is 99% probability we will chose Malta :)
This is most probably the most laid back and best documentary about my home country ever. It is very informative and yet with some great humour and pretty much what you see is what you get in real life! Like every country Malta is not perfect and it is great you depicted literally everything in this video. In my profile there is a video around Malta back in the 1989 which goes around Sliema to Paceville and clearly shows the huge difference in development on the island.
oh my sweet malta i will be coming back soon ... 55 days to go after 9 long hard years ... you are a true jewel ur are my jewel .. and i have missed you like i have never missed anyting else in my life ( apart my family ) i shall kiss the land i was born and raised in .. i shall always be proud of who i was born to be a MALTESE!!! i will see you soon my sweet little rock filled with wonders and magestic beauty .. MY SWEET LAND!! thank u for this documentary thank you so very much
This is a fantastic video of my beloved home land .Enjoyed watching ,brought a lot of beautiful memory's. Thank you for sharing -- I love Malta. Greetings from Australia.
English here !! My Heart is in Malta ...I love the people and If I won the lotto I would surly move there and put all my cash into that small island of beauty ...As for the negative comment above !! love live and be happy .. we are who we are and if we don't abuse our status in life then all good ... Help others and reap a good just rewards :-) LOVE PEACE AND LIGHT
For nine years, '91 to 2000, I spent my annual holidays on the island of Malta, always at the Jerma Palace Hotel in Marsacsala. A truly great hotel and will be sadly missed. Valetta is a fantastic city with the best open restaurants in the world. It was a sad day when the EU forced the traditional old buses off the road and replaced them with the soulless Arriva garbage. The underwater statue of Saint Paul, is best seen from the belly of the Captain Morgan boat, a sight well worth seeing.
WOW THIS IS FANTASTIC VIDEO & MUSIC :) OUR FAMILY ARE FLYING OFF TO MALTA FOR 2 WEEK'S :) WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO MALTA FOR THE LAST 3-4 YEARS WOT A LOVELY PLACE :)
My memories of Malta (1995) Fewer people! A lot fewer! Hundreds of cats No sand beaches, all were stone. 1 stop light in Valleta It was a short walk from Sliema to Valleta. Mostly an older crowd went to Malta. Skin diving was fantastic, as was fossil hunting.AA The Blue Lagoon was uncrowded. I think that was the same old bus I rode on!
Thanks for this mate! Much appreciated! Pity it had to be a foreigner to have the initiative to do a 1hr documentary with the only intention of educating and promoting!! :D Well fkn done!!
I found it a good presentation of a beautiful island full of life at the time of this recording (probably summer time). At the time when I had been there in 1989 I did not realize how Maltese people are speaking an easy pronunciation English, so recommendable for beginners (as I had been in 1989). I wish to be there and be part of the life and the environment. Who knows?
Malta being a small island is very unpredictable vis-a-vis weather. But as a rough guide, maybe i can tell you this, Oct to Dec, chilly with some rain,Jan to March, maybe April, cold and rainy may to Sept sunny, maybe a few days rain...for about 10 minutes every time lol. Over all we have the best weather in the med. Storms , well we do get a couple, windy and rainy, but they are rare and far in between, You could be unlucky LOL. www.maltairport.com/weather/ Depending on the time of the year, over all the weather is to die for. I loved this Video, but things have changed since the time taken, some for worst, and some for better.
A difficult question Wendy. But i will try. I think first of all, as in everything that is called progress , there is also the regress part of it. The fact that almost 2 in 3 have a car now is progress but it also created a lot of stress in regards to free space. New building (which again are needed and pleasant to the eye) also have an impact of how I know Malta. Public transport is now a new fleet, with AC and all the glitter. Yet, i prefer the chitty chitty bang bang we had, they were full of colours and character,:- But the rides were let`s just say a little bumpy LOL being in EU, we now have a lot of other EU nationals working in the hospitality industry. I am not saying its wrong, because sometimes one would feel more at home when you are staying in a hotel and meet your country fellow person. But it did effect the Maltese feel and character within the accommodation complex. Wendy,I spent more than 35 years working in Hotels, and I can tell you what 1000`s of visitors have told me:- Malta, you either hate it or love it. You cannot compare it to other Mediterranean country. Come and give it a try... try a long weekend. Today with the use of internet and on shoulder months, it wont be too expensive.,I can assure you that even if you don`t like it in a sense that you wont come again, you will still enjoy the experience:) Please do not take this as a negative post, far from it, i think Malta is lovely and I would not live anywhere else, but you have asked me what are the changes for the worse, We have more changes fr the better :) Thank you for your interest in our awesome country.
HI im from peru and i loved your videos from malta,,and the music very relax and the most important ,see the city and the historics building, nice place i visited europe but not malta this year i want to be there and thanks for your videos
@TheNurialuna This video is beautiful and makes people from all over the world become more interested in this beautiful country. Forget your resentments and stay open minded, dear Maltese.
Everyone please ignore NoSurrender... Malta has been around much longer than the United Kingdom and is somewhere I'd really like to visit one day - I've never heard any Briton say anything bad about Malta, ever. We've got a shared history and I believe our countries are still quite close today. Respect :)
This video is awesome. I can only imagine the many days of preparation and implementation. Was this a personal project? The cameras used are very sharp too. I'm watching this is 2022 and it brings good memories of how Malta was nicer before the unbridaled development took over and consumed the islands soul. Gone are the smiling population...everyone is running on the hamster wheel.. looking busy and chasing money instead of happiness. Would be curious to know from the video creator how they got to know about Malta.
Malta is a fantastic country, calm ,peaceful, relaxed, safe, international and with a touch of medieval feeling - I've spent 2 wonderful year there, the last clip made in Ramla Beach portraits perfectly the Maltese lifestyle and the above mentioned - Go and visit this country, it will amaze you! you'll not regret it- My farewell to the sunniest times of my life - Malta - Ramla Bay - Gozo- Lazy Sunday Afternoon
Malta is actually one of the most visted island and the most visitors come from UK and Italy. We are so close togheter and i kinda hink thst relation ship is quite amazing apart that italy and england dont go well with each other we are in the middle :)
My parents met at the Grand Harbour in 1963, my Mum is from Valletta. Between 1981 and 1987, I didn't go to Malta. When I returned in '87, the habit of ships docking at the Fish Market had been discontinued. There was usually about 4 - ships and merchant boats, Sicilian fishermen etc. When did this stop and why? I still miss the sound of those boats' engines coming up from the water.
A very nice video. Unfortunately Malta is no over priced and has forgotten its history, legacy and its need to attract tourists as there is little else in Malta. The party island image is now expensive with drinks and food considerably cheaper in areas outside of Malta and the Eurozone.

The orange Buses are part of the history now. I'm Maltese and still enjoyed the clip. Thanks

EXCELLENT job. Finally a full length documentary that really captures Maltese culture, nightlife and history!
