When you hear it on the piano you realize just how superb Suede were at composing songs. Beautiful melody, harmony and lyrics. You just don't hear pop songs as sophisticated/accomplished as this being written today. What happened??
This song's ending is one of the most beautiful ever. Although it is practically a replica of Elton John's Song for a Guy, it rises even higher toward the conclusion and becomes nothing short of magnificent. Another Suede treasure is By The Sea, which also has a lovely finale.
i keep on repeating listening to this. such a wonderful play. wish you would allow me to use this audio as my phone ringtone. lovely. greetings from Borneo
This is absolutely wonderful! I love it! Do you have any sheet music for it? It sounds sublime and I would love to play it! Thanks for posting this lovely cover, it's like a lullaby! :)
Today she's been walking She's been talking She's been smoking It's gonna be alright 'Cause tonight we'll go dancing We'll go laughing We'll get car sick And it'll be okay like everyone says It'll be alright and ever so nice We're going out tonight Out and about tonight Oh, whatever makes her happy On a Saturday night Oh, whatever makes her happy Whatever makes it alright Today she's been sat there Sat there in a black chair Office furniture It'll be alright 'Cause tonight we'll go drinking We'll do silly things And never let the winter in And it'll be okay like everyone says It'll be alright and ever so nice We're going out tonight Out and about tonight Oh, whatever makes her happy On a Saturday night Oh, whatever makes her happy Whatever makes it alright We'll go to freak shows and peepshows We'll go to discos, casinos We'll go where people go and let go Oh whatever makes her happy On a Saturday night Oh, whatever makes her happy Whatever makes it alright Oh whatever makes her happy On a Saturday night Oh, whatever makes her happy Whatever makes it alright Oh oh La la la la la la Oh oh La la la la la la Oh oh La la la la la la Oh oh La la la la la la Oh oh La la la la la la Oh oh
OK, I hope this makes sense - it goes something like this: Intro/Verse: G F# (bm) F Em/C Eb/C D/G D (this line repeats several times) Am Eb Eb - F Chorus: C D G A C D G Am Am - G#... (repeat, sort of). :)

People sticked to money and four chords, that's all.
@@chrisr7419 You're absolutely right there but it's such a shame when you think about it. It's sad that the majority of people are okay with that.

I have never noticed this similarity! Thank you for that!
Would make a great piece for a first dance at a wedding, if you're a Suede fan. Stellar work fella.
Wow , just wow ❤️

This is absolutely fuckin amazing. Seriously good work, man!
Perhaps suede will stand the test of time in instrumental transcriptions. I was thinking of covering suede in accordion

Today she's been walking
She's been talking
She's been smoking
It's gonna be alright
'Cause tonight we'll go dancing
We'll go laughing
We'll get car sick
And it'll be okay like everyone says
It'll be alright and ever so nice
We're going out tonight
Out and about tonight
Oh, whatever makes her happy
On a Saturday night
Oh, whatever makes her happy
Whatever makes it alright
Today she's been sat there
Sat there in a black chair
Office furniture
It'll be alright
'Cause tonight we'll go drinking
We'll do silly things
And never let the winter in
And it'll be okay like everyone says
It'll be alright and ever so nice
We're going out tonight
Out and about tonight
Oh, whatever makes her happy
On a Saturday night
Oh, whatever makes her happy
Whatever makes it alright
We'll go to freak shows and peepshows
We'll go to discos, casinos
We'll go where people go and let go
Oh whatever makes her happy
On a Saturday night
Oh, whatever makes her happy
Whatever makes it alright
Oh whatever makes her happy
On a Saturday night
Oh, whatever makes her happy
Whatever makes it alright
Oh oh

Can you share the chord progression? Really thanks!
OK, I hope this makes sense - it goes something like this:
Intro/Verse:
G F# (bm) F Em/C Eb/C D/G D (this line repeats several times)
Am Eb Eb - F
Chorus:
C D G A C D G Am Am - G#...
(repeat, sort of). :)
