The all iron recipe is really one of the best in the game, I'm using the hell out of it. Great video, I love watching you break it down in a simple fashion.
Iron Motor recipe is not just for new players. Iron is the most abundant resource on the map after water! It takes a little extra power, but it's my favorite motor recipe at every stage of the game.
My go-to for motors is to use the default motor recipe, and then use steel rotor alt recipe to simply the chain. It means both stators and rotors use the same materials (steel pipe and wire)
Unless you should wish to produce an insane amount of motors just for fun I don't see any real reason to overcomplicate something this simple as a motor. I mean, you're not going to need too many of them, 60-80 until endgame should be more then enough. So with JUST iron recipe, using pure ingots it will be around 150 iron ore for 5 motors which makes 30 for one and 1800-2400 iron ore for 60-80 motors. It may look a lot, but it's just 2-4 (pure/normal) iron nodes in endgame and the motors are done. Crystal oscillator Motors are still interesting though
i produce 150 motors/min and i got a crystal oscilator factory that producing 350/min couse i need most of them at another location for radio control units and computers but here i can easy take some and get much more efficient rotors going.
@Darkkamikazegirl yeah, of course, if you have SO MANY crystal oscillators and you need a lot of motors as well and it's easy to get the oscillators to the motors factory, then it's definitely worth it 👍✌️
See this is why I follow other ppl. I can only spend so much time on recipes like that. Lmfao That iron setup is nice. A lot of time what you build is based on where u build plus the difficulty of the logistics. I already have a couple places in mind for that. Thanks 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I ended up having some extra crystal oscillators being produced somewhere so just felt like using the excess with the crystal oscillator motor alt recipe. It wasn't too bad and got 30 motors a minute with four manufacturers.
Was planning to build a large scale Motor factory... I was absolutely not aware of an Iron only combo thought Steel was a must have resource. New plan, Dimensional Depot motor factory in the middle nowhere since Iron is abundant.
IMO the most glorious motor production chain is rigor motor, insulated oscillator, plastic ai limiter, fused quickwire, fused copper wire, steel stator, molded steel pipe, pure quartz crystal, rubber concrete, tempered caterium ingot, solid steel ingot, copper alloy ingot, basic iron ingot. Sure it seems over complicated, but you'll be using a lot of those components for other things as well.
I have a factory that produces motors, automated wiring, smart plating, and modular frames using only iron. I haven’t bothered with load balancing and evening out the inputs and outputs so all the extra ingredients being produced get sent into their own storage, which means the factory actually produces those 4 items plus pretty much every early game resource minus concrete, copper plating, and steel beams. It basically totals to i think 725 iron/m which is a lot but I’m building this in the western starting desert location which has 6 normal iron nodes next to each other, which means that 6 mk2 miners would be just enough to get you 720 iron/m. Without overclocking we’re technically missing 5 iron/m which means it’s not really going to run 100% efficiently but it’s more about the message lol
@@Minotaur-ey2lg Oh yeah, it's not really a problem with power per se but personally I design all my factories without any form of overclocking so that if I want to overclock, I can overclock everything at once to get a consistent 250% output
screw recipes are great if you can move them in bulk, since you need lots of screws for recipes and you produce a metric shit ton, but don' expect to feed a manifold with MK3 belts. the first machine will work through all screws it can grab and is waiting for new ones before you can fulfill that demand, that's why most people hate screw recipes it's an endgame setup nothing for the lower tiers. Some alternative recipes are not for purpose builds, but for what you have available at a site or what you have in abundance so you can build up an alternate construction line istead of brining in new resources from somewhere else.
ok for a low motor setup like u demostrate here i would go whit the standart setup go this the steel rotor and maybe even cut out coal and copper whit iron pipe and iron wire recepies. for a big motor setup like 100 motors a min the rigor motor setup is awesome even more if u use an imput from an already existing crystal oscilator factory.
As much as I love this series, I really wish there was detail on actual power figures. I looked at the pure ingot recipes and they all use so much power in the refineries, it is often easier to just plop some smelters down and call it a day
power is very easy to get more of and expandable, especially once you get into nuclear power. I recommend trying to get fuel generators up, or better yet use turbo fuel, to get all the energy you will ever need
@@camerongrondzki2716 I have quite a few turbo fuel gens running already. My concern is that not everyone knows the power implications, especially a new player in early/mid game. These videos are detailed on the resources required, it just seems awkward to not detail power requirements when trying to work out what is more viable for your particular play through.
The crystal oscillator is a pain in the butt to make on masse. Id much rather just use the iron only recipe it's by far the most simple recipe and end game I needed to make more motors for something so I just made a pure iron motor factory and was making a whole bunch more motors very quickly.
Me and a friend are makeing iron motors and with the pure iron recipe, where 50 motors a min useing 462 iron ore and only 138 copper ore and the wire is insane where makeing 1500 wire a min with that same iron 😂
You should check the difference if using the Rigor Motor Recipe would be better if Reinforced Iron Plates were made with Stitched Plates Alt Recipe, and Wire is made Iron Wire
Hey! the actual number of crystal oscillators that we're using here is 0.833 (rather than 2.5). So the maths itself is actually right, but the amount of crystal oscillators shown is wrong. Thank you for pointing this out. idk how 2.5 even got there.

Whoever mentioned the full iron recipe combo must be extremely smart, and cool
Right?!
ive been using the all iron motors for a while made a blueprint for it so i can just plop it next to an iron node
The all iron recipe is really one of the best in the game, I'm using the hell out of it. Great video, I love watching you break it down in a simple fashion.

Exactly, anything that simplifies the logistics of getting resources to a factory, is worth it to me even if there's a bit more resources consumed.

'Yay! Let's add some extra fluid dynamics to this recipe!" -A Mad Man
Deeply underated channel
The only combo I make now with is the full iron one, its not the most space or power efficient, but one pure node turns into twenty motors!

I like this series. Good work!
Cheers! It's received unreal support so far. Still have quite a few more recipes to go.
9:25 If you don't have the manufacturer at tier 8 we aren't playing the same game since magnetic control rod are unlocked w/ nuclear power
I ended up having some extra crystal oscillators being produced somewhere so just felt like using the excess with the crystal oscillator motor alt recipe. It wasn't too bad and got 30 motors a minute with four manufacturers.
if you take under-clocking into account, you double your mass space at the extent of reaching the cap sooner but you use way way less power
Iron motor setup is OP. I managed to setup my motor/rotor/stator factory in my starting biome with just a little added water.

Overclocking for 5 ore/min is so small it’s not really a problem power wise.

best recipe for urarium rod and plutonium rod?
I have rebuilt several electric motors, I have yet to come across one that uses two rotors and two stators...
BRO ITS HORIZON PLAYZ 😱
Yeesh clicking on this video after waking up in bed was a bad idea 💡💡💡
I just go IRON ONLY. And maybe water if its near.
We are creating steel pipes anyways, so why not use steel screws?

Hey! It’s called Miro. It’s free
You should check the difference if using the Rigor Motor Recipe would be better if Reinforced Iron Plates were made with Stitched Plates Alt Recipe, and Wire is made Iron Wire
that could be a good recipe too!
Turbo motor next?
I'm a simple guy, I see motors, I stick to the basic recipe.
am i cooked or the crystal oscillators are calculated wrong? you need 14 cable/min just for 1 oscillator/min and you are using 11.7 to make 2.5

I love how you say coal
Plastic AI limiters are the best for insulated crystal oscillators, since it's then a 2:1 ratio of rubber to plastic. Not good for early game indeed.
