And the fact that this was the second encore performance for this show… he had already performed for 2 1/2 hours. Incredible. He was the best to his fans. I’m so glad I was blessed to have seen him lots of times throughout his career. He is the GOAT of live performances!
Homegirl got her dance on! I was dancing in my chair along with the video, too. 💃🎶 And I 100% agree: Prince was and is an anomaly. From singer, to songwriter, to multi-instrumentalist, to arranger and band leader, his musical skills were OFF. THE. CHARTS. The greatest to ever to it, IMHO.
I feel like today younger people hear the Prince radio hits which are played all the time but for those of us who grew up with his music..and were fortunate enough to see him live.....there are a lot of talented artists today but how many of them could write, produce and perform all the instruments on their tracks on an entire album. Much less go on stage and sing, play guitar, drums, piano, bass with flawless excellence in one show? Not sure I can think of anyone today who could pull that off
AND effortlessly turn the whole place into a party! Prince was next level to the next level. Lol. We were lucky to have grown up with him and his music
Prince was a musicians musician! He had the respect of the all-time greats. All of his peers labeled him the best they had ever seen. His talents across the board were unmeasurable. Gone way way too soon!
This was the 2nd of THREE encores he did that night in Inglewood, after having played 2 1/2 hours prior. Bad ass guitar player and performer. Taught himself everything. NO ONE gets credit for his work. He is a once in a hundred years kind of genius. RIP my Prince.
That's correct Prince was superhuman. He was so incredible. MJ was good at singing and dancing that's it. Prince could do everything. Sorry just speaking the truth.
There's another song that has been covered in this video, but it's a very short snippet (4 measures), can you guess what song it is? (hint : the group that released the original song is from Oakland, CA)
It kinda felt like Prince didn't get the chops he deserved as a guitarist. It might of been more about the times with the big haired spandex strangled walking rock clichés treating lead breaks like mini melodramas, pouted lips and a nodding head that mimed "I'm bad aren't I". Wasn't a fan and I would catch myself fiddling my lighter wondering how quickly a lacquer filled perm would take to go up and if I'd have enough time to escape the blast radius. Discovering Soundgarden and Alice in Chains came in the nick of time. Prince on the other hand was a magician with a guitar. His solo in the George Harrison tribute version of whilst my guitar gently weeps blew my mind. Apparently he'd been completely overlooked in a best guitar players list only weeks before this show. He closed out the song and it's the best fuck you guitar work I've seen. The last note still ringing he launches his guitar straight up into the air, turns his back and strolls off not giving a fuck where or how it landed. Prince was a crazy loss.
@@secondhandreactions No one paved his way and I don't think there will be another like him. I love hearing new music with a little something that grabs. An interesting voice will get my attention over the right mouth shape or a radio friendly. It can be punk, can be folk, can be most but I'm not a big metal fan and I might be the only one but Nightwish could be served with a set menu dinner and door prize for best dressed. Freddie found the place where it was magic, Opera rock nah fuck off. Cheers mate
@@achebwahs1111 ok based on this I’ll say - we reacted to another band I think you’re gonna like if you don’t already. I’ll keep it under wraps for now. I bet you’ll know it when you hear it. They fit this description
I look at the new artists today their best friend is auto tune or heavy Bass no melody or bridges like JB,Heatwave.and Pink Floyd. aand almost forgot Stevie Wonder
