Arab or Ereb means mixed and many people in the Spanish speaking or Latin Speaking countries are mixed. Ancient Egypt was black and modern Egypt is mixed so when people say you look like the whiter more mixed people they are just saying you look mixed as Arab or Ereb means mixed. In scripture it goes back to Ishmael and Esav who were mixed or mixed out from their origins. The original groups were black then overtime became more mixed and white like what is seen today. If you read the scriptures it goes over all of that.
If you look at the groups around the world they come in black, mixed and white.

The only one who needs to shut the fuck up is you, clearly you can’t read nor did you research the numbers that are the reference of Arab or Ereb meaning mixed. When people mix out they become another group so if you actually could read and if you actually understood scripture then you would know that... What a fucking incompetent stupid.

Brazil is the main Arab colony outside the Arab world. It is estimated that the direct descendants are between 15 and 20 million people. However, I believe it is much larger, many Brazilians are of Iberian descent from the Algarve, Spain and other southern regions of Portugal, areas in the past inhabited by Portuguese/Spanish with Arab and Moorish ancestry, so it is very difficult to calculate the Arab heritage in Brazil, aside from the fact that this is not much commented upon, few people know about this information.

    • @JonasPrudas
      @JonasPrudas ปีที่แล้ว +8

The first Portuguese who arrived in Brazil were from the south of Portugal. However the largest migrations of Portuguese to Brazil occurred in the 19th century and start of the 20th century from the very north of Portugal, namelly from the regions of Minho and Trás os Montes. The cavaco, that little guitar used in samba music, is the Portuguese cavaquinho used in northern Portuguese folklore. This instrument is also the origin of the Hawaiian ukulele.

My great great grandparents arrived from Syria to northern Argentina in the early 1900's and built tobacco farms forming a little Syrian community over there, by 1960 the farms stopped being productive and they settled in Greater Buenos Aires, which was open countryside at the time, simultaneously with a large group of Italian immigrants. I was born in the 90's and today the neighborhood is a really charming and diverse place with people from everywhere, from Europe to the Middle East to China and even Brazil and other Latin American countries.

Very nice that you are focusing in Brazil/Latin America recently! Syrian-Lebanese influence is very noticeable in Brazil. In my hometown there's a huge mosque, in Sao Paulo metropolis there's a lot of Arab Christian churches and the food from Levant is very common here (the biggest national fast food chain in Brazil is Habib's, Arab food oriented), and so on! My boyfriend is Syrian Japanese mixed! And actually there's a lot of Syrian refugees coming here, and luckily a lot of them are having opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Hi there, this video was SPOT ON! I live in the megacity of São Paulo, Brazil. In São Paulo City alone there are over a million people of recent arab descent from recent migrations, mostly christians, but if everyone got their DNA tested the percentages would have been much greater. Take me as an example. My family came from Portugal and Italy mainly, although I am Brazilian, I got 12% of my DNA from the Middle-east and North Africa.....this video is spot on. Being 6% from the middle east, 4% of North Africa and 2% Jewish (obviously that this came from my Portuguese and Italian ancestors, etc. No one in my family is Lebanese for example.). One thing that has surprised me was that I got 52% of my genes from IBERIA, much higher than I had anticipated (not to mention the other Euro areas). 52% is twice the average of the Portuguese populous today so I got a lot more Native Portuguese in me than most Portuguese today. I love Portugal so I was happy about that.
Going back to the middle eastern influence in Brazil... aside from Lebanon and Syria I have friends that have ancestors from Egypt, Iraq, Turkey and Palestine and there are a lot of jewish people here from Syria and Lebanon as well. MASAMAN you need to study about our emperors! You will only understand our immigration patterns in Brazil if you study about our Monarchy. Dom Pedro I married an Austrian Princess and had a son, D. Pedro II. He was an incredible guy and his history is incredibly sad and grandious at the same time. He believed that Brazil, needed to have a class of people that came from a strong tradition in trading in remote areas in order to further develop the Brazilian economy, which was mainly agricultural. According to his perception, no one could top various peoples from the ottoman empire. He believed that these people were "natural" traders, and that they would change the culture of Brazil, very based on slavery. That's why he fomented the immigration of arabs and jews to Brazil, so that we could develop our business sector here since most Portuguese, Spaniards and Italians were farmers.
He's also fomented immigration from his mum's empire, AUSTRO-Hungary, in order to break the cycle of the slave trade. People need to understand that we had one of the world's FIRST PARLIAMENTARIAN MONARCHIES here. The emperors were ABOLITIONISTS, but the congress was pro-slavery for they were oligarchs. The emperor found in immigration a way to change the culture of Brazil thus ending slavery progressively, not only through politics, but through culture and via a more diverse economy. When he finally ended it, he was thrown out of the country and died poor in a cheap hotel in Paris. He was the greatest man Brazil has ever seen. His daughter, Princess Isabel was freedom activist. After she abolished slavery, she took refuge in France ( she was married to a French man). There, she's saved a lot of people that became refugees in WWI. She was known for sheltering refugees in her house in France. The history of the Brazilian Monarchy is incredible. The republic is the worst thing that has ever happened to this country. Dom Pedro the Second was one of the biggest contributors (financially) of 2 notable people, Graham Bell and Thomas Edison. No wonder, Rio had public electricity on the same day NYC did, and was the world's third city to have a phone thanks to Dom Pedro the II, an intellectual who was fluent in 17 languages including 2 native languages, Tupi and Guarani! He was IT!

My Colombian wife’s uncle, a Catholic priest, researched the family history, and he found out that one branch came from Turkey, so for awhile the family believed they were part Turkish. That was until a history teacher friend of mine, who was from Latin America too, explained that my wife was more than likely part Arab. Just how it’s explained here, he told us that since the Middle East was under the Ottoman Empire, all Arabs traveled with a Turkish passport, so it was always noted upon entering any Latin American country that they were coming from Turkey.

The Arabic influence in Colombia is very strong, here we have the second largest mosque in Latin America, and in the department of Guajira, dialects of Arabic are spoken, and the city of Maicao, is almost 100% Arabic.
In Barranquilla the music has many Arabic influences, and in cities like Cali, which is in the department of Valle del Cauca, people eat a lot of kibbes, which is a typical Lebanese dish, but it was assimilated and became something typical in the city of Cali, Colombia has had 3 presidents of Arabic descent, as well as many famous people at a national level are of Arabic descent.
And at a national level, in Colombia is very popular the Hummus/Tahini and the Arabian bread, besides that we love to put Arabian songs in the parties.

Kokainuser Europe is not one country. Different European countries have different languages, different cultures, different discourses and different history. Muslims are part of some European countries since centuries, but not all European countries. If you were a Muslim and for some strange reason decided to settle down here in Sweden 200 years ago, you would have to convert to the Lutheran state religion of Sweden, or you would face legal consequences. Things have really changed here since then.

I'm glad to see this video. I was curious about that because I've noticed that some of the most well-known Latinos have middle eastern ancestry: Carlos Slim, Salma Hayek, Shakira.

@Masaman you forgot to mention that Chile has the biggest palestinean community in the world (500.000)

I'm sorry to tell you that you're speaking from ignorance. I never said they were muslims. All of the palestinean people that left to Chile were christians, and the great majority were orthodox christians who converted to catholicism. You're assuming that all arabs are muslims, and thats pure ignorance. These palestineans were escaping from the islamic opression of the Otoman Empire.
They integrated to the chilean society very well, two of my best university friends are palestinean descendants, and they behave exactly like any other chilean. Maybe the only difference is that some of them have basic knowledge of arab, the girls can do the arab dance, and that they support their own football team. But in general, the chilean culture only became richier thanks to the palestinean inmigration.
To be honest, I think that if they had been muslims, maybe the integration could have taken a little longer, but still, Chile welcomes with open arms everyone who's willing to form part of this remote country.
I don't know why you have this bad predisposition to everything thats related to Palestine. Maybe you're a jew. Let me tell you that in my group of friends there is also a guy that is jew, and he has a great friendship with the palestinean guys, because they say "let the problems between palestienan and jews in Israel stay in Israel". They live here in the othersideof the world, and they have no reason to hate each other.

      Saludos!

When did a DNA test I came back 5 percent Jewish and then I looked into the history of the state my mom was from in mexico and it turns out I am most likely a descendant of the Jewish conversos would be never known without the DNA testing though.

European Jews are actually Italians, genetically. They aren't actually Arabic.

The Spanish Moors weren't actually Arabs, though. According to most scholars they were converts (they were openly racist towards Arabs). And Spanish Jews were genetically different from Middle Easter Jews. You're assuming a lot.
