I just received my Fuji 150-600mm lens. Absolutely beautiful, and the glass is flawless. The pictures that come from this lens is astronomically beautiful! I can’t wait to see what else Fuji has planned 😊
Johnnie! Always love seeing these behind the scenes factory tours. It's fascinating to see how the engineers designed the assembly jigs and test setups to make lens production come to fruition. Huge thanks for the behind the scenes look. I think the zoom lens live center axis with the large flange mount bearing at 3:04 is my favorite jig so far. Awesome.

I also appreciate very much, that Fujifilm is still producing their lenses "Made in Japan" and not outsource cheaply to China, Vietnam, etc. Quality from Japan. I am a Fujifilm Shooter since the X100 original. I own the X-E1, X-E2 and X-T1.
Somehow I thought there would be more automation in the assembly line. However this makes the lenses a bit more "special" - seeing how people are taking time to put lenses together individually. 58 by midday, so... about what, 100 per day, 22,000 per year? Very respectable numbers. I wish there was a longer cut of the video with more narrative and footage of individual stages. Thank you for showing us this Johnnie 👍
Hi Macks, You cannot make 100% automated process. You would still need men to control, inspect and keep the work going. I’m working in a big 900 people factory (high technology) , we have robots and automated process for making electronic circuit , it’s done by robots but people are still needed to invent ideas, design , then take electronic circuit and put in bath to cook it, assemble some parts by hand and ect. Then you need people to sell and ect. I highly recommend you to go visit various factories , then you will understand they work just about the same.
No difference whatsoever. My Fuji files always look better than anything I take with my Nikon D810. The XT range must be the simplest cameras I've ever used too. The top dials allow maximum speed and efficiency. Lenses are also great value for money, considering the quality of the optics. The 56 1.2 and 16 1.4 can't be beaten by anyone. Both can be had for under 1500 notes. And they have the best jpegs in the business. No brainer.
