    I have only sewn garments, and heirloom with my 1230. I’ll look into piecing and quilting now!

    Awesome! Great tip for using the edge of the foot as spacing, I’m going to use this technique on a pillow top. Thanks!

    Perfect timing! I have not used my walking foot yet but am about to, and was going to search the net to see if it was possible to do curved lines with a walking foot - Guess I can! Thank you for another quick and useful lesson!

      Absolutely! Just keep the curves gentle at first until you get the feel for stopping and rotating for deeper curves. It's easy, but does take a bit more time than free motion quilting.

    I never tried the walking foot, but, I look into your videos and practice on my machine. Thank you for your detail information and videos. Looking forward to learning more from your lessons.

    Thanks Leah! Good information. I have been practicing with my walking foot on my old BERNINA and this helps a lot!

      I'm so glad to hear that. Older Bernina machines are awesome!

    Thanks for your help My machine was stitching fine until I put my Walking foot on Now it creating big loops underneath. Any suggestions.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm... You might not have your foot in the down position. Big loops with walking foot quilting is rare and probably just an issue of needing to drop the foot.

    Those gloves look like a great idea. Are they designed for quilting for finger safety and gripping. If so I'll search for some.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      These aren't designed for safety so much as gripping the quilt. You can find them here: leahday.com/products/machingers-quilting-gloves

    What stitch length are you using? Love your videos so easy to understand

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I typically set my machine to 1.5 mm for walking foot quilting, BUT this quilt block had minky on the back which means I increase the length to 2.5 mm because the minky is so grippy on the machine bed.

    When you bury your threads what quick threading needle do you use?

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I really like Clover cheater needles. You can find them here: leahday.com/products/cheater-needles

      Thanx. Those are the ones that I have. They break my threads but I will try your technique for using them and have another go at them
