Stormtroopers are actually marksman and extremely effective known for their accuracy in the lore.
The reason on the screen they appear to have bad aim is because there are always force users or the stormtroopers are supposed to capture/scare rather then kill the target even obi Wan mentions how precise stormtroopers are.
And in the deathstar escape Vader actually mentions that he is letting them go on purpose so i assume that's why they never hit anyone in that scene, they tried to scare them rather then kill.
in the books there are multiple examples of how badass and effective stormtroopers are ,usually wiping out enemies with barley any casualties remember they managed to kill Jedis without using the force when sith were fewer then jedi.
Vader even had several favorites but idk if you count the clonetroopers as imperial stormtroopers to be same because the clonetroopers were designed to be better then stormtroopers sorry I nerded out here abit also I made sure I still remember all this on reddit so sadly users were deleted so can't credit
Oh and the sith were just mentioned as sith or assassins or dark side adept because of the rule of one/two which didn't allow many sith to coexist or get rank they killed each other allot
The Clones were pretty much bred for war, and the storms were cheaper police men in terms of the scale of how wars are fought in the star wars universe, though yes storm troopers were good whenever it's just rebel soldiers on screen they get wiped out, tantive IV and the rebel base on Hoth were good examples on how the rebel soldiers were outmatched.
I know literally the first time see them in combat they take a whole hallway been a while but pretty sure no casualties and stormtroopers were the imperial elite force so I am also a nerd so don’t worry bout needing out lol
I am also a nerd and I believe , if you notice the armor, the joints are to still to aim from the face. That is why they try to hip fire more often. The helmets also have the tiny slits for flash protection but it limits vision a good bit
Fun fact, the reason why they have bad aim in the newer movies is because someone at Disney misinterpreted the scenes where they missed and made it part of the lore? Idk I hate the newer movies and stopped caring about Star Wars after Ray existed

The poor design of the stormtroopers armor made it so they couldn’t raise their blasters above their chest
Yet they are still one of the deadliest army’s alive, even obi-wan said that they were skilled soldiers and too precise to be tusken raiders
Also, their helmet do have aim assist as well as heat vision so they don’t need to

Baron, I can explain. It is plot armour preventing stormtroopers from hitting anything. They are actually really accurate. They even have some kind of a targeting system in their helmets. They are trained very well at the academy. It was just plot armor that made them not hit anything.
The lore behind stormtroopers having bad aim is that they cant hit someone if they have the force. take rogue one for example. The blind guy (i cant remember their name :( ) walked across the fire field he wasn't hit but when the other guy crossed he was hit immediately.

Mod the game so that way it's a different era. Also, they literally don't make them like they used to. (they made clones which were better) so stormtroopers have bad aim
To explain why the stormtroopers have bad ame (aside of plot armor)is because of there helmets, it was hinted as a fourth wall break joke in Rebels.
That horribly disfigured walker was an AT-DP. They are from Star wars rebels and are the direct predecessor of the AT-ST.

Modded undead faction would be great. I mean the units are already there. They only would need balanced prices
For reflecting laser's: the lava skin has damage reflect. If you were to give certain units the lava skin, and then change the damage reflect value to be 100% rather than I think it 10 or 20%, that could allow for reflecting Lazers. I'm not sure if that's possible, it certainly sounds like it is but I don't mod games.

Baron the imperial armour was really hard to see through and because the empire used random people instead of clones the stormtroopers wouldn't get properly trained

Hi baron, I know you probably won’t see this, but storm troopers have good aim actually
The first time we are introduced to stormtroopers, they take over Tantive IV, killing or capturing the entire crew of the ship.
We even see Leia, a major character, get stunned. This is meant to give us an idea of the stormtroopers’ high and superior training to the enemy rebels during this scene (not every rebel but you get the point).
On Tatooine, the stormtroopers kill an entire group of Jawas and Luke skywalker’s aunt and uncle
Even Obi-wan Kenobi states that this aim was too precise to be tusken raiders and that it had to be imperial stormtroopers (and we all know George Lucas was actually talking about stormtroopers those theories are bs).
In the Death Star , the protagonists create smoke in the room so the stormtroopers would be caught by surprise and would not see. Darth vader and Tarkin then ordered the stormtroopers to let the Rebels live intentionally in order to track them back to the rebel base and destroy it once and for all.
In ESB, the cold weather assault troopers and Vader take control of Echo base
On Bespin, some shots made sense due to the amount of cover, while others had R2D2 create steam to allow for the protagonists to escape.
In RotJ, we see numerous Ewoks and Leia get shot. We also see a All terrain scout transport do some big damage.
Scout troopers destroy Leia’s speeder bike.
In TFA, stormtroopers slaughter a whole village.
In rogue one, Stormtroopers lose but still do damage on Jedha and scarif.
They kill K-2SO, death troopers kill Chirrut imwe ,Baza malbus , and Bodhi rook
The only exception of this aim is the escape from tatooine, where they all miss

Baron stormtroopers have bad aim because of there helmet. Let me explain the helmet restricts there vision and makes it incredibly hard to aim. Witch in turn makes them a terrible shot. Pls like this so Barron sees it

maybe the stormtroopers' helmets don't allow for aiming necessarily down the sights so the troopers have to point the gun in the general direction of the targets

Stormtroopers have bad aim because of their clunky armor. It is really hard to see out of. They are mainly used to intimidate, not to be effective in battle. The armor is super easy to break as well because it doesn't cost a lot to produce and they must provide control over the whole galaxy so it makes sense.
First scene their in a compact hallway took the hallway with I’m pretty sure no to minimum casualties stormtroopers were the imperial elite forces and they were told on screen not to kill so they could track the rebels

Incorrect, they don’t, their helmets have aim assist as well as heat vision and radio, they couldnt see because the stormtrooper helmet had a special code so people can’t use them

Hey Baron could you try to make it so the skins have different looks? so the leaf skin would be droids and if you could do that, It could be a way to do factions
The stormtroopers can’t aim as well because after order 66 there was only a certain ammount of clones when they were turned, after the empire continued getting more stormtroopers the empire didn’t train them as well as the republic did in the clone wars so there troopers are not as trained as the clones were, therefore ruins there aim.

Not true actually, if you look at the older movies you can see them clear an entire hallway without casualties, and take the rebel base on Hoth, their aim is only limited by their helmets and when they miss it is on purpose, their lack of aim is only a meme in the community and Disney misinterpreted the deathstar scenes where they did not mean to hit.

Hey Baron the actual reason that stormtroopers are bad is just really plot armor, since well how would the empire take control and invade and conquer the GALAXY until the rebels show up, don't you think there would be bigger rebellions than the movie's? YES! and the only times that we saw the stormtroopers loose is when the main characters were present and WERE IMPORTANT TO THE PLOT!!!

Storm troopers aren’t the only men with bad aim it’s just they are more noticeable because they are human unlike droids and the fact that Luke or Leila were never hit because they have the force is just so cool like they had a force field

the stormtroopers couldnt shoot the main characters and the people around them because the force was helping to push the blaster bolts of to the side that also explains why the stormtroopers where great shots on the tantive IV battle in A New Hope because there was no one around that was a main character. just a thought

Stormtroopers actually have incredible aim. For instance when stormtroopers with Darth Vader borded a republic ship the stormtroopers made quick work of them. Then Darth Vader came in.

StormTroopers have had aim because they have clankier and more heavy armor. Also they have very thing visors. They aren’t very used to it as many CTs became TKs after order 66, I mean that as most clone troopers have converted into storm troopers.
Baron should do pike vs reaper. You’ll be surprised. Make sure the pike gets the hit first.

And Storm troopers aim is awful as it is theorized that as Luke is more force sensitive and force wielders have the power to stop blaster bolts, that the main cast are protected by the force when Luke is around as well as the lack of vision from their helmets as said in Star wars rebels- the show.
