    Thanks for uploading this great video Anne. I have had this app on my phone for a few months but wasn’t aware of all the features which you explained so well. I can now capture sunrises and sunsets more effectively!

    Great video Anne, you mentioned a couple of things I wasn't aware of so thanks for that.
    And it makes a difference when a presenter takes time to respond to comments, a LOT don't.
    Thanks again and look forward to watching more from your channel.

    Very good Anne. Excellent presentation skills with a simple approach to how to use the app. TPE has been going for years and still remains 1 of the go to apps. It’s a shame however it’s no longer free (I think) but the desktop version is. I have a quick look on BestPhotoTimes for a general idea. Great enthusiasm for what you do. A bit of feedback. It would be presented better if you avoided the slightly distracting background and used a blank canvass such as a white wall. That way there is more focus on you. Thanks for sharing Anne, you’re a great discovery

      Hi James - the mobile versions of TPE have never been free. That's how we earn our living :) However, the desktop version has always been and remains free of charge.

      I no longer do photography vlogs since an accident I had 2 years ago. The photos you see in this video were taken using the app to plan the shoot. If it helps, I did a vlog that morning. Here’s the link th-cam.com/video/fPEDSa_bxwQ/w-d-xo.html 📸 💖

    Hello Anne - I have used TPE for over 7 years now - quite useful in parts but it has never quite done it all for me because although it would tell me the direction of sunrise and sunset (and give me lots of moon information too) it didn't tell me what might be underneath the sun - would it be visible or hidden behind a hill/mountain? Or even where the 'real sunrise/sunset' would happen, as it may not be on the bearing given - because working with the contours of the land wasn't a part of the app. However, I notice that there's now a 3D version - for those iPhone users! I expect it will get onto Android in due course and what a bonus that would be!

      @photoephemeris 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geoff - one of the functions we've had in TPE since day one is Geodetics (the grey pin, basically) - it can be used to determine exactly what you're discussing - determining if the sun or moon be blocked by a hill or mountain. I'd recommend checking out the Geodetics tutorials on our website.

    • @photoephemeris
      @photoephemeris 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anne - this isn't a limitation of the app: it's one of things we've always done. Geodetics is the function you can use to answer these questions.

      @geoffchalcraft9432 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh brilliant! I must check that out. I thought the second pin was for something else entirely. Mea culpa.

      It would be nice if the above mentioned tutorial worked when Macey Lakes is typed in, but it doesn't find the location at all.

      😂 Thanks for the feedback. I’m a fan of chocolate teapots. Especially when they melt 🍫 🫖 🤤
      I recorded this video more than 5 years ago so the app/website may have changed since then.

    I purchased the app for android. Big waste of money. I absolutely do not understand this app. Useless!. Just Google sun rise and sunset for your date and location.. Much easier to understand..

    • @FindingMySparkle
      @FindingMySparkle  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      B H I like the app because it’s not just about sunrise and sunset. It shows you where the sun light will be at anytime of the day.
      Each to their own though

      @@FindingMySparkle Is there a way to determine the golden hour of sun light in a location?

    • @FindingMySparkle
      @FindingMySparkle  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      B H it’s roughly an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset if it’s not completely cloudy. You can use the app along with the cloud forecast on the Met Office to help you
