Thanks so much for this!...yes, PhotoPills is a bit overwhelming, particularly if one doesn't use it all the time to get proficient and embed the functionality in the brain. As a casual photographer, I fall into that category! Keep up the great work, and thanks again.
thank you so much, im going to death valley in march and am planning on some awesome night sky photography, your video really helped me with this app and now im super excited.
quick question ive downloaded photopills even though im not a professional photographer i just like taking astrophotography and nigh time photography with my pixel 9 pro xl, however in the photopills app i haven't found any info on the milky way is this because of my area because i live in the very grey and cloudy uk. any help?
You’ll still be able to get Milky Way info regardless of weather. If you double tap on the Milky Way icon it will show you when the next best Milky Way will be
You have to scroll to find the different functions. The PhotoPills website has tons of tutorials that would honestly be more helpful than me for this question
Constructive feedback. While I appreciate the effort, you went too fast and not enough examples of what you are doing. Perhaps OK for someone already somewhat familiar with Photopills, but I found myself having to search for more details on much of what you were talking about.
best instructions ever, thank you
You bet!
Excellent, super helpful
So glad it helped!
Fantastic explanation. New to night sky. Paused during presentation to check the app. Made understanding so much easier. Great job thank you.
So glad it was helpful!
After years of purchasing Photopills I am coming back to using it again and seeing your tutorial was very helpful. Thanks!
Good! I’m so glad it helped!
VERY valuable video. Thanks.
Glad it helped!

Fingers crossed for clear skies!
I haven't opened up the app in a while and needed a refresher. This was perfect! 🙂❤️
Glad it was helpful!
Great video .. thanks. In regards to setting the time. Is it not just easier to set it to “Auto Detect” 🤔 just a thought
Yeah but I’ve had issues with it recognizing time changes so I do it manually
@ cheers 👍🏻 makes sense
Wow, this was SO helpful! Probably saved me months of trial-and-error and frustration. Thanks for making this video! 🙏
So glad it helped!
At moment 5:52 in the vid, you say you will tap on "the milky way view". I can't tell what you are doing there. Can you clarify?

@LandscapePhotographyUniversity do you know where the milky way icon is? I went into map settings and the milky way option is completely unpressable

Very useful! Thanks
Glad it helped!
How does it happen that the sun seems to set in the north according to the planner?
You might want to sync it to your location
I don't have the location button on my main planner screen?
If you hit the plus icon in the bottom right corner you can add to to your screen
@@LandscapePhotographyUniversity yeah I found that out by accident 🙄
Hahaha
This is the most clear instructional video I have seen on PhotoPills. Finally I am all set up. Thank you!!
So glad it helped! I have a full course on PhotoPills and planning here: www.landscapephotographyuniversity.com/planning-photography
@@LandscapePhotographyUniversity thanks. I will check
It out.

So this is not a camera app. I just wanted a time-lapse app. Should have read the description be buying 😢😢

There’s a lot in there to learn. I’ll be sure and make more tutorials about it
Sussed it out
There are some very good in-depth tutorials out there, IMO this is one of the best th-cam.com/video/GzacEL7nxRc/w-d-xo.html
