I remember growing up with mike. We would always go downtown and skate the "cultured" areas. When mike skated everyone would stop and watch. Remember a couple of times some preppy kids tried stepping towards mike. Needless to say it never happened again... haha Then a few years later a video surfaced of mike fighting 3 guys at once. Haha Love and miss you Mikey
Try to contact him through the phone of his brand, Street Plant! Even if he doesn’t pick the phone up, if you explain that you’re a childhood friend, the person probably you get you both in contact
All those handplant variations are so sick, on a mini-ramp no less whaaaaaaat. Only younger pro I can even imagine being this imaginative and trying those tricks is Andy A
Bro, the music, the people and the look of this mini ramp in this setting is giving me “The Last Of Us ||” vibez. It’s so beautiful. Just like the skating. Awesome!
Would be amazing to be able to skate like that, imagine having that many combos where you ride. Huge duration runs like that and don't do the same trick twice. Many ramps like this are tricky because by the time you have dropped back in you are going up the other wall, one sketchy landing can Rob all your speed and make things a lot harder,Mike V style and finesse 👍
I watched him skate the 12' vert at Cheap Skates skatepark in Pennsylvania around 1990 and it was incredible! Had no idea how good he was on vert. Huge frontside stalefish, five feet high, to late fakie!
I caught Mike V's board at bam magera's mall of america skate demo years and years ago, Mike V was the only one really skating the mini, so the crowd shouted to throw him back his board. So I did. Biggest regret of my childhood. That shit would still be framed in my man cave. :(
Crazy to think in like 86-87 mike V is getting made pro for street skating while he's in a vert contest 😂 absolute skater's skater through and through!
No Comply - to Tailslide in a mini-Ramp?!? Can’t remember when I saw 👀 this stylish 🛹-combo-Trick the last time!? =] PS: well done Mr. Street-Plant! ;] 🤙🏼
That's heritage. At the time he became pro this is what skating was, before fliptricks and tech it was all about grabs and plants for tech. You don't have to like it but recognize that this stuff is the father of modern style. This video should be in a museum, this is the history that modern skateboarding is built upon. It's nowhere near the current aesthetic and shouldn't be compared to it. You can dislike his style but respect that without this style in the past skateboarding wouldn't be what it is today.
@@troothseeka4116 Right on, just saying that this is what we had back in the day, there was nothing like it before in skateboarding and the future of it had yet to be determined. Lol, i remember what it was like before this era, we had inch thick vertical lamination boards with rollerskate trucks and the worst wheels ever with loose ball bearings. This style was mind blowing at one time during the 80's. Now it's still mind blowing how skating is progressing, the kids are killing it like never before and it's awesome to see even though i can't skate much street anymore with my arthritis but i can still full send downhill and shred bowls, banks, and ramps.
@@rustymustard7798 right on makes sense since youre old school this style would be more appealing to you. I think you've opened my eyes more to appreciate it.
Masterclass in old-school influenced shredding. No-comply front tailslide is such a sick move.
Yessssir! I thought that was only me 💯
One of my favorites to watch skate mini ramp. And street for that matter!
This video is a piece of art

You can see he had a mini ramp at his home at least at some point in his life, or else he lived in one

He should consider a career as a professional skateboarder
Dude actually does a boneless to get more air like a tony hawk game but irl
Too much of feet on the ground and hands on the board for me
Different strokes for different folks. I find his style amazing.
