Thank you so much for this. I truly appreciate it. He is a very wonderful member of our family and we are so blessed that he is here with us. Love him to pieces.

@@OutdoorsWithToddP Thorian is a big boy 👍🏻 Yes lots of memories & some intense moments lol!!!! Sasha got her canine good neighbour certificate & we tried agility once to see if a KBD would be any good at it . Boarder collie was showing his teeth at her . Well long story short Sasha ended up smacking the crap out of the collie & was the reason the agility instructor quit 😂🐾🐾
@@kellascat1 Bahahahaha Thorian is very strong. Before him we had 4 Huskies. 3 females and 1 male. I thought our Male Husky Odin was pretty strong until I picked up Thorian. I could tell when he was young that he was going to be much stronger than Odin. And he is ..... And he is always on protect mode when we are around. Such a great family member
Hahaha thanks so much I really appreciate it. 6"8 yeah I just fit in there and I'm 6'3". Thanks for commenting and watching the video I truly appreciate it.
My male was Czar his consort was Aida, they produced exceptional offspring.I used electronic collars. You didnt have to shock them just tone, they are smart.
No he can walk just fine. I just lifted him in my arms for the intro and carried him once across a deep smelly marsh. If I didn't carry him across I'm sure he would have jumped right in and I didn't want him to get completely dirty and smelly. hahahahaha. @@OutdoorsWithToddP right on man! They’re an awesome breed. My boy is 10 and he’s been the best dog ever. Couple of tips: #1: spend a ton of time training hours to come to you off leash. It’s the hardest thing to do with KBD’s. They’re bred to leave you. #2: When you’re in the woods with him let him do his thing (once you get him trained to come while off leash). They’ll keep a perimeter around you and protect you. That’s their job. And they excel at it. Only thing I keep on my boy is a collar with a 1.5 mile range. If he’s out of ear shot (he’s normally within 200 yards of me) I just beep him on the collar and he comes back. #3: Keep in mind there isn’t an “alpha” with these dogs. It’s a partnership. And the more he respects you, the more he’ll do for you. Enjoy! They’re one of the most challenging yet rewarding breeds ever! He’ll bring a ton of happiness to you and your family.
Thanks for all the info and advice I really appreciate it. Thorian is an amazing family member and I am very grateful for him. He sure is one of a kind that’s for sure hahahaha
Thanks so much for the great response to this video. I really appreciate it everyone. I was out for a kayak today so there will be a video very soon.
Greetings from Finland! It makes me so happy and proud to see an individual of our beautiful, strong breed living the good life all across the pond! ❤

`Burried the ash of my best friend yesterday. A purebred KBD. 11 years i got with him. 33 kilo of the kindest dog ever, and the best house alarm ever.
Sorry for your loss. I got a kick out the alarm comment. This is so true. Hahahahaha
Bless you both❤
"Mr. Snorian" 🤣
Storm break is a nice tent. At 6'8" probably too small for me. Beef and rice looked good 🤝🏻

Dog are always the best and a good company 😍 we have a 4 months old Rottweiler and he loves outdoor 🙃
They sure do make our lives that much better don’t they? Thanks for the comment
I'd love to see a bag packing video or a what's in your bag. It would be cool to see your essentials. Keep up the great work!
This is a great idea. Will do next outing
The tent reminds me of PfalRavjen I bought in Fairbanks.
Its a good tent but not my favorite. I am really liking the Northface Storm Break 2.

Hey Todd I’m doing a photo project on KBD’s. Would love to come out and take some pics of you and your beautiful dog.
Are you located here in fort Mcmurray? And if yes where were you thinking about doing this?

Dogs provoke bear attacks which is why the national parks in America don't allow dogs on the trails in the park.
Good info for sure
Karelian Bear Dogs are specifically used to remove/haze bears from areas with hikers, including national parks, in many western states.
This is done in Jasper and Banff parks up here as well. I have heard many stories where a KBD has been a life saving friend for their owners.
@@onealjones9039 Good to know.
@@OutdoorsWithToddP Great to know!
Is the KBD dissabled? Why are you carrying it
No I just didn't want him to get to dirty. That marsh when I carried him smelled a bit.
Get the pup trained in booties to help keep his paws safe
Great idea thanks for the tip. Any suggestions on booties?
