I made the mistake of taking my new G3C to the range and putting around 200 rounds through it and had about 5 misfires. Anyone thinking about getting a new G3C, please do so because it is a great firearm but clean it BEFORE using it the first time. After I thoroughly cleaned it, it ran like a charm. Good video and great EDC the G3C!
When cleaning the breach face you should keep the thing pointing downwards as the cleaner can get into the striker channel and cause failures later on if in sufficient quantity.
Thank you for posting. After shooting my G3C at the range for the first time, and also my first time cleaning a gun ,I cleaned mine after watching this video. This is my fav video of cleaning the G3C. You explained it very well. Great video!!.. Liked and subscribed

Thanks for sharing the video. I just purchased the Taurus G3C . It was very helpful on cleaning mine. I learned a couple steps about the cleaning kit as well. Where you thread the tool with cloth and then oil the barrel of the gun.
I bought a G3c a week ago. I disassembled it and the weapon was very, very dry. I lubed it with Lucas gun oil and it ran like a champ with no issues in 100 rounds. Lucas gun oil is recommended by Sig Sauer and I have used it on all my Sigs. I clean my guns after every time I shoot them. One round or 100 rounds gets cleaned. I was career US Army.
Just a word from my recent experience. After about 200+ rounds my G3 started stove-piping/related feed issues. Cleaning as you describe was not enough. The feed ramp on the barrel needed not only cleaned but polished. I used Mother's Mag and Aluminum Cleaner. My G3 now shoots as good as the day I took it out of the box.
Great video. Very informative and well presented. I just picked up a G3c so I'm glad I found this video. I'll bet you could also use simichrome too to polish the ramp. I use it to polish the frets on my basses and it makes them nice and smooth, slick, and shiny.
Good job on your cleaning and respect to you.ihave owned firearms for many years and learned a long time ago from a magazine article that oiling the inside of your barrel is only good for storing the firearm.even a light coating can cause an oil ring type of damage to your barrel after firing.after you finish running the bore snake through properly your barrel will be protected
Awesome! Thank you for the advice. I have stepped away from oil in the barrel... I have stepped away from cleaning my gun in all honestly haha. Only been cleaning when it starts having issues now.
I am watching your video right now good job buddy keep up the good would like to warn you about oiling the inside of your barrel after cleaning It is only recommended if you are going to store your pesto for a period of time Oil and can cause damage to your barrel
Good cleaning job. I've put battle born on metal that slide against metal, but very very thin amount. Then I work the slide and function test and then do a full wipe of any excess grease. A drop of very lite oil in the same areas as you. Again wiping off any excess. Good video.
I just brought my g3c and didn't know I had to clean it before using it and it did really good 👍 but I did cleaned after I used it. Thanks for the tips 😁
When cleaning the firing pin area you suppose to hold the slide the other way cause dirt and gun powder can fall into the firing pin hole and clog up the firing pin over time
Thank you I have since went out and built a 300BLK out and picked up a mauser M48. I have issues with guns lol. Also made videos of them, check em out when you have time.
Was going to buy a Taurus G3C but bought a S&W M&P 2.0 Compact, they are out of stock and my gun shop will hold one for me when it their shipment comes in ? Don't regret my M&P 2.0 Compact is a very good pistol.
Thank you! Motorcycle accident broke my left wrist. Bone broke and went straight through essentially. The physical therapy part is the most painful lol
If you wanna talk about a "baby barrel", you should check out the Taurus TX22. When I was helping my dad clean some of his collection, I was like "would ya just look at that cute little barrel!" Lol. By the way, it's the same exact breakdown as this G3C.
Well this is a very rookie way to clean a gun, it will work. However, some points to keep in mind is do not get any oil inside the firing pin when cleaning it since it will attract dirt and may jam the firing pin. Second, you forgot to clean or oil the inner rails in the slide, which is important. Also, you do not need to oil the inside of the barrel and leave it wet inside unless you are storing the pistol long term. You also did not use the bore snake correctly, you suppose to oil the part before the spikes, not the spikes. I don't mean to be critical but you over-lubed that gun, which can cause failures in the long run. Finally, use something else than hopps, it smells horrible...Apart from that, good rookie cleaning video. Hope this helps...
The biggest "rookie mistake" was pulling out a loaded magazine while on the cleaning table. That pistol should have been fully unloaded and cleared LONG BEFORE that point.
Good job only one minor detail. You didn't lube the slide's guide rails. Putting oil on the bottom of the slide on a Taurus G3C offers has no effect what so ever. If you hold the gun side ways up to the light, you'll notice that you'll see light between the body and the bottom of the slide because they don't make contact. You should either lube the rails on the body that the slide rides on or you can lube the inside channels on the slide. Enjoy your toys and have fun!
How are you able to have the slide release back and have it slide back into place with your thumb. I’ve tried it and my finger is going numb. I can’t seem to do it that way
Hello, I just have quick question about my G3C's barrel when I assemble the gun after cleaning and my barrel looks like moving a lot inside the slide, so is it normal or my gun has problem at some point? Thank you so much.
First time pistol owner. G3C 1st squeeze of the trigger gun jammed. There is a round in the chamber. I am apprehensive about clearing the round. How do I clear the round safely?
Hey man I just bought the g3c yesterday and I've never had a quip so hard to load bullets when Iraq the chamber it gets jammed because they're so tight in the clip any ideas of lubricating or maintenancing a clip?
Well first I must correct you. Not clip but magazine those are two different things and not interchangeable. Maybe the lips on the mag are bad. I would try taking apart the magazines first and clearing the inside and lubricating the spring and walls. If you still have issues after you will need new magazines.
I ran into similar issues when I got my G3C. I ran about 30-40 rounds at the range through it until it started to function properly. It seems like the magazines need to have some rounds fed through them for a little bit in order for them to function properly. After those initial rounds, I've put about 250 rounds total through it and I've had no other issues so far.
Is it okay if the barrel is a little shaky or not as tight after doing this and is it normal for the barrel to be tilted up when racking it or having it racked in place
Great video. I'm also a new shooter with my first firearm coming next week. I'm trying to be proactive in watching these cleaning videos. The last video I watched said not to touch the striker but didn't give a reason but you did clean yours here. Any thoughts on why you wouldn't touch it at all? Also, would there be any benefit or harm done to blowing it out with low pressure compressed air first before using the solution? Thank you.
Welcome to the awesome world of PEW PEW man! So here's the reason why I clean the striker. After shooting lots of rounds your striker will be gumped up with carbon build up. If you don't clean it eventually you will have rounds that will fail to fire due to the firing pin being super dirty. When people say don't get the firing pin wet I'm 98% positive they mean don't put lube on the firing pin. You want the pin to be as dry as possible. When you first get your firearm look at how clean the firing pin is even after just 50rds it will be black. When I clean mine I'm just using gun cleaner which will dry in a matter of minutes. After a couple of thousands of rounds I will remove the firing pin completely from the slide and give it a good cleaning. I have done this on many handguns and rifles never had a issue before. I feel like you will most DEF. have issues if you don't give it a cleaning.
@@runNgun88 thank you very much for the clarification. I really appreciate you reaching out and helping me. I will definitely use that helpful information. And thank you for the awesome welcome! 👍🏻
Just a couple of comments. You need to learn the names of your firearm parts. The firing pin does not hit the bullet causing it to eject. The firing pin hits the primer of the cartridge.
