- It was my birthday and I booked a Rock fishing charter trip with Chris' Fishing and Whale Watching in Monterey CA. All we brought was coolers and fishing tackle. Great place to go if you want to have an easy day of fishing. Located in Monterey's popular wharf, it has been in business for many years. The Captain and the deck hands were friendly, helpful, and sure to get you on some fish. I also caught a surprise White fish which was rare to catch in these waters.

Small fish. Blue bass, Johnny bass, Starry rockfish, White fish and vermilions(red snapper) Not to bad for start of season again. To bad there are so many restrictions in California these days. There have been many boats in Southern California that went out of business because of these restrictions.
This was from last season. Hopefully we have a good season this year. They're closing the commercial Dungeness crab season early this year in Northern California.
