The G2 Characters are great, but very labor intensive. Two hundred mouth sprites is an awsome task. Toon Titan Puppet Producer (by Ibis Fernandez) program helped with the rigging issues. A program that used shareware like Krita to generate the Flash file and automate the process would help. The artificial intelligence in Character Creator and / or Blender that would help generate mouth and other sprites would also help revive the G2 character. Also an in depth book that fully explained the Flash Svmbol concepts for producing G2 Characters would greatly help neophytes to learn how to make the characters. Many start learning and simply give up.

Hello! Do I have to have adobe illustrator to create character in CA5? If not illustrator, what other software that affordable can you suggest please? Thank you
G2's react better to iClone's 3d motions than G3's. End of story. G2's can be embedded with swf (vector) animations that can be switched on and off without the need to import a png sequence. (Those can be cloth and hair movement and if needed, you can combine G3 heads and bone hands with G2 characters. If you only use 2d motions or make up your own motions you will not be forced to make all angles and just work with one. I can go on ranting like this but in the end Reallusion made sure with every update that people don't give a crap anymore about G2's. You can still use them in CA5 but you have to import them and save them under custom characters. You can also use springbones on G2's that react to 3d motions covering all angles, but you will not find a mention of that in the manual.I agree though that the creation of G2's is not for the faint hearted and certainly not for someone who is starting out with Cartoon Animator. Edit: you forgot to mention that G2's face depth can be set in composer mode from 1 to 9 with at 9 gives a fair rotation of the head, almost the same compared to the 360 head movement of the G3 characters.
I wud stick with G3 especially as cta5 doesn't support g2. However I like the concept of using both g2 and g3, especially when minimum customization is required.

I also want to know what are the disadvantages or shortcomings you have faced to create your animated series while using Cartoon Animator and you wish they must include it in their upcoming updates? You can use ClipStudio Paint, Affinity Designer, Krita (Which is free), and Photoshop. These are the ones that I know of.

It seems like a downgrade to go to G3
I have always preferred G2. Most G3 people characters look terrible but the animals look quite good. What is with the red nose on G3 characters?
