WB SABOTAGED SUICIDE SQUAD!!

- Suicide Squad is going to officially release tomorrow and already the film is receiving negative critical response. This has caused some EXTREME DC fanboys to start an absurd petition demanding to shut Rotten Tomatoes down for the low scores they are giving the second DC movie in a row.
I not only give my input on that insane demand but I also give reason as to why I think WB unintentionally crippled their own movie in an attempt to please all audiences.
As soon as I get a chance to see the movie I will bring you a review and validate the critical response this movie has received.

AkittaKnight there's also more often a "teamwork" spirit in the production with movies financed by different countries that differs from the us way of one studio trying to make profit first. Song of the Sea and Secret of Kells for instance were produced by France, Ireland, Belgium and UK among others.
Overall i barely heard about a major movie being altered by the studio or producers the scale they did for Suicide Squad or Fant4stic.
PS: movie ratings aren't that much of a concern in the making of the film either.
The one in the trailers where Joker said "I can't wait to show you my toys" wasn't in and Batman beating up Joker's face in then being in Arkham with Harley.
I saw Suicide Squad on Tuesday - and this is all I'm going to say about it -
"Suicide Squad is the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' of the Cinematic DC Universe; a surprise hit that everyone thought they were going to hate."
Needless to say, hearing that the movie only has a 29% on RottenTomatoes is Puzzling to me; especially considering that the movie wasn't even out yet.

The worst part of this entire thing was they brought in the people responsible for the Bohemian Rhapsody trailer and ask them to edit the final cut of a feature length film. Trailer companies are great cutting trailers and not feature length films. They should have said David Ayer please give us the Training Day of super hero films, let the Rated R flag fly and called it a day, they need to stop trying to fit it all into the Snyderverse and allow for proper development. Nolan's Triology was brilliant because he had the stones to dictate the schedule to Warner Bros. WB needs to pump the brakes and go back the drawing board.
The same "critics" where giving positive reviews to Ghostbusters just because they were girls and that was "progressive".
I hope Geoff Johns comes to save the DCEU from imploding before WB do any more damage. Seems now all hopes lie on Wonder Woman film next year to redeem this universe.
I agree. I even have lost hope in Wonder Woman now aswell. If they can't win the majority of people over with Joker and Harley then what chance does Wonder Woman stand? They will shove their nose into that project aswell. It really makes no sense. The movie was all set, test audiences responded really well to it. I don't know why Warner Bros decided to make additional changes and cuts. It makes no sense!

I feel like their hiring directors even though they interfere cause if it goes wrong they can put the blame on directors
I've seen it and I was horrified how tonally inconsistent the movies is. the problem is there are essentially two movies. The first one, really good one, probably directed and written by David Ayer, is a very grim, very dark and almost depressing action movie, where your heroes are child murderers, psychopaths, and assassins. Still, the emotional core is very well presented (the most emotional scenes in the movie are between two psychos in a destructive, abusive relationship). The movie is about the characters, what makes them humans.
But there is a 2nd movie. It is directed by some WB executive hack fraud, written by a trailer company, edited by a monkey, has nothing interesting to offer, it is very light, hoky-joky, there's a lot of pop songs, and the main plot device is a giant space laser 101, the most boring and overused plot of all. It's cringey, schlacky, and overall stupid.
As a result the movie is tonally inconsistent. It seems to be slapped together from Ayer's footage and the footage from re-shoots (add jokes, our focus group wants jokes).
What the fuck Warner Brothers, what the fuck..

I will tell you what happened the movie, and it was not the Director. The problem is with the Editors. The Trailer that had the Panic! At The Disco's Cover of Bohemian Rhapsody was so well reviewed that they had the team that cut that, go back in and reedit the movie, and they pretty much fucked that up.
Here is something funny, there are bootlegs out there of the Original Edit, which will probably end up as a Directors Cut.

So WB made a lot of mistakes. WB wants my money? Tell me something I don't know. At the end of the day, Warners is a business, not an arts council. i don't expect them to have any apologies for that.

The main problem was making Suicide Squad PG-13 film on the USA! Which is a ridiculous idea! The reason Joker was cut so much because he was not PG13 friendly material which means Jared Leto did a good performance as the Joker. Shame we were robbed of a good movie and a good Joker just for a rating. But this backfired on WB in Europe and the UK because the film quite rightly got a 15 certificate!
+Anna@Bella It got a 15 certificate but we were still given the same cut PG-13 Joker. Also after having watched the extended version of Suicide Squad I can say with absolute confidence that Jared Leto was a terrible Joker. I will explain more in a future Versus video. I thought Batman vs Superman was god awful. Well worth the 27%. Saying that I have seen a lot of TH-camrs give Suicide Squad top ratings. So will go into the cinema open minded. Here is hoping.

It is like Alien 3 all over again. Ask David Fincher. Fox kept interfering with that film and fucked it up to the point where Fincher wants no association with the film even to this day. Ask Matthijs Heijningen Jr about The Thing prequel as it was basically ruined by Universal sticking their nose into the movie like taking out all the practical effects and replacing it with CGI.

Thank you! They want to act as if doing something that isn't a dumpster fire is just fine. For the record I'm talking about WB not DC. WB is the studio and the big honcho behind these movies. I respect all opinions but when a movie falls short just accept the case and try to do better. Not do even more intervention as a studio that clearly does not understand the mythos of these characters. But then again that's my opinion.

I don't like Rotten Tomatoes too. I mean the Back to the future trilogy was awesome and if you see the scores, you will see just how dirty Rotten Tomatoes are.

geoff jogns was the cusultant for both the green lantern movie and the jsa 2 parter on smallville both were a mess dont put your hopes on him. both had an insane and unwieldy amount of continuity shoved on them.

I may not know about every character in Suicide Squad I DO know WB has a tendency to mess up a lot of good movies or move some things around however (Hear me out when I say this) Maybe, just maybe they were wanting to delete some of Joker's scene because it was too long and didn't have much to do with the plot or it could be a deleted scene on purpose or they may have decided to use it for the Director's cut or it could even be a part of the sequel. I'm not defending WB, and I damn-sho ain't defending Rotten Tomatoes. Once the movie hits Blu-ray & DVD pick it up watch both versions (If there's a directors cut) then make a decision. I hate the fact that Michael Keaton stopped playing Batman after 2 movies. Do I hate Michael Keaton or Batman now? No. It bothered me a lot that Batman movies were constantly being made and Batman kept changing. I got used to Christian Bale do I hate him or his portrayal? No. WB made me mad for constantly making Batman movies with bad actors and terrible scripts. Which do I prefer? The 1st and second. It changed way too much. It had Joker, Catwoman, Penguin and Harvey Dent within the 1st 2 movies alone. Batman Forever, Harvry Dent again but this time it was Twoface played by Tommy Lee Jones. The Riddle Jim Carrey. This time around Val Kelmer was Batman and Chris O'Donnell was introduced as Robin. Next up, Batman and Robin Same Robin (The inroduction of Batgirl) once again, Different Batman. Villains: Mr Freeze (Not a great design but Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice was a great fit for the way he's supposed to sound.) then there's Poison Ivy Uma Thurman was a great fit. Bane was much closer in B&R than he was in The Dark Knight Rises. I could go on forever but I think you get it.

Removing the tattoos from Joker would not have made the movie any better. It all comes down to the writing, directing and acting. Those are the primary elements that would have made this an awesome movie.

WB didn't need to sabotage Suicide Squad, the movie did it on its own; all my friends (both socials/online and real-life ones) agree with me when I say the movie looked like the crap it was since the first revealed scenes...where the "squad" itself clearly shows they are not and never will be a squad, just a bunch of crazy psychopathic indivuals who happened to stumble on the scene.
LucienSabre They aren't a functional team the prisoners are forced to be there or be dead. Joker rescuing Harley was a good thing as he rescues her from a fate worse than death working for the government who are clearly experimenting on metahumans by using them for missions. Joker was the hero of the film he even got the Neck bomb inventer dead. Also just a side note Van Triss Lab are part of Wayne Enterprises! so Batman got the neck bombs invented. I am more than a little concerned when the Joker is saying this neck bombs are wrong when in Harley's neck and Bruce Wayne is finding them. The main concepts are difficult to get across in Suicide Squad because of this.
Anna@Bella I understand they're not a squad (meant as team), but there are scenes where they are supposed to at least collaborate - that's the point of the "squad" the movie's title refers to - yet each one of them instead looks like they are somewhere else entirely....and this makes for no concept at all getting across.

LucienSabre Why would villians willingly collabrote together on a mission which will kill them? Illogical and not survival practical. Suicide Squad is not about the Squad becoming a team, or the missions thry go on it is about the journey of the villian to be a free villian because they enjoy being a villian plus the main concept is just what is Amanda Waller really doing? Why is Waller controlling these villian? To do metahuman experiments on how to kill metahumans? Basically the Squad are her metahuman lab rats so how can the Muggle government kill or control metahuman population? Why do you think the government wants Harley Quinn away from the Joker? so they don't breed! Why does the government keep the Joker in Gotham to control Batman! (Deadshot is the most useful member of the Squad to Waller because Rick Flag is wet blanket a great solider but too moral. Deadshot is the solider Waller needs. ) ARGUS which Task Force X is apart of is how the government controls and cleans up the mess the capes and villians make. That's what the Suicide Squad is about to put the fear of God in all the metahumans so they all play nice like big Blue superman or Waller will get you.
Anna@Bella Peopl who read the comics might understand what you say, but for those like me who never read it - only watching the movie - nothing of that gets across and the movie looks just plain bad.
