    Lemon talk or no?

    • @NorthernmostMustard
      @NorthernmostMustard  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Lamster66 Yes, I agree with everything you have said. I am around 6 foot 1, and the lack comfort was a major factor in selling this, I was probably slightly too tall and was getting regular neck ache. When I test drove it I loved it, the way it looked with the spoiler and just how unique it was.
      I used to get some many comments about how much they liked it and "is it an Aston Martin?"
      Mine was an auto transmission so can't comment on the pedals unfortunately but I was told to stay clear of manuals.
      I had issues with electrics after around 3 months of ownership and it was a nightmare getting parts. It was a costly car to own in truth, but that's what you have to expect when buying one of these!

      A car with an automatic transmission should automatically be considered a lemon.

    Let me see if I've got this right: you needed to replace a few blinker bulbs actually only replace one and remove a couple of dead ones. You put some tape on the back of the door pulls, and fiddled with your cup holder...you forgot to check to see the condition of the rear tires and eventually are going to have to buy some new tires for a used car. You bought a Mercedes with alternative sheet metal on it 4 less than three thousand pounds. This is NOT a lemon...it sounds like bargain ... get a piece of plastic from the wrecking yard and make a patch for your inner fender well before the weather gets bad this year. Remember if the ladies don't find you handsome they should find you handy --so you should think about working on your mechanical skills.😁

    Small easily resolved issues for what appears to be a very nice little automobile. The 12 spark plugs are somewhat of a menace to change and the crankshaft /camshaft sensor locations are a "bugger" to access. Do keep a "weather eye" on the under door sills for possible rust. Watch out for the cup holder should your car be equipped with a manual transmission and stay away from that flimsy ash tray, which on some occasions can become a projectile. Next to the battery there is a plastic box that houses the infamous printed circuit relay control module containing three little soldered wiring connections, which may require re soldering. I have a mint 2008 Roadster (garage ornament) with barely 38,000 miles on the odometer. Excellent tires are somewhat difficult to locate given the different sizes for the front and rear, but I simply love the beast even though there is no room for overnight luggage and little room to breathe when I'm out and about driving. Hope you continue to remain "chuffed" with your very smart purchase....."cheerio".

    • @pip393
      @pip393 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NorthernmostMustard The Roadster has an even smaller trunk than the Coupe. Small little mechanical nuisance idiosyncrasies (I am able to repair), never spoil my enjoyment of an honest vehicle that's becoming quite rare these days. I find the lack of a spare tire troublesome, especially on long journeys. I'm over six feet tall and yes it is a tight squeeze especially with the top up. But on balance it's a little gem.

  • @LordTwaddle
    @LordTwaddle 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Good choice, exact same colour as mine (the one featured on CarThrottle). I had exactly the same issue with the indicator pod, one of the connectors had gone so I put a new one in then braced it with a piece of gravel (no joke).

    • @adanvela2518
      @adanvela2518 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi im actually having a problem with my indicator as well can you tell me the name of the piece you bought and where to get one?

    • @LordTwaddle
      @LordTwaddle 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's a front indicator then the fault is likely the pod that the bulb sits in. Lift the bonnet, unscrew the pod from the light and examine it. Chances are it's blown a connector so have a new one soldered and braced in place because buying a new one (ACD cars do spares) is expensive due to the rarity.

    Mine was a nightmare. I needed a headlight replacement due to internal corrosion. Chrysler didn't have any new ones. I had to search the country for a USED one from a junkyard. Cost $600. The rear center break light had an intermittent problem, which caused it to flunk inspection. Again, parts were a nightmare to find. I liked the car but not for the amount of hassle.
