Technically, Michael is the longest tenured singer., at 14 years, although Peter did sing on songs as early as 1992, he wasn't "Lead Singer" until 1997. That said, I was a bit sour originally, as I LOVE Peter, but I feel the new lineup is like a mash between 2 of the greatest Christian bands of all time. I was also upset at them adding a new member, that was until I saw them last night in Tampa. Looking forward to what's to come. I did also see them live for the United Tour as well.
I think they all will be together for a few years together touring they have been together touring since i think 2018 already. They are having fun all together and will tour all together for awhile.
Phil's totally my favorite Newsboy ever. But you need Pete, too. (He's my 2nd fav.) You need his Aussie voice blending with Phil's to really make the classic Newsboys sound.
I love it but why doesent sound more clear like the real sound that you guys have . I love this band my favorite all over this years i remember me growing in Christ and going in diferent situation and remember exactly the songs praise the Lord for people like them whu obey and sing for the One
Newsboys was the band that helped me make that next step in my walk with Christ, that was about 20 years ago. That being said, I have them in concert/festivals about a dozen times, and have met them. From talking with the group, they do intentionally change up their old songs for a couple of reasons. 1:age / vocal range 2: they feel they want to do/give fans something beyond what they sound like on a cd or download. Thank you. Funny note. Duncan is pretty short but well built. I’m 6’ 260lb even though he is not, standing next to him I feel like a towering behemoth.
I went to one of their United shows and they did something like 29 songs but to accommodate that they shortened a lot of them. I actually remember being a little miffed when they were bragging about doing so many songs thinking "yeah, but you shortened so many of them so does that count?" I guess I'd rather have fewer full songs but that's how it goes sometimes!
Not sure who the “he” your referring to is, but yes. People age. Meeting Phil Joel, I can defiantly tell by his speaking voice, that his vocal range is not as pronounced as it once was. Don’t know if it from heath/illness or just life.
