I love this song. I remember listening to it during my college days. One thing that I really believe is that I had an encounter with an angel about 18 months ago at Christmastime. I was at the grocery store very late. I came out of the store after 10 o'clock because they were closing. I was walking to my car, and I saw this man in the parking lot. He was dressed really messy, and he had a spray bottle and paper towels offering to clean car windows in exchange for money. He said he needed bus fare for him and his family. I had a strong sense that I was supposed to talk to him, tell him about Jesus, and help him. My heart started beating faster and I just couldn't shake the feeling. So, I introduced myself, gave him some money, and witnessed to him. He started smiling as soon as I said that I was Born-again. I don't know why I said it, but I told Him that the Bible says that we could be entertaining angels unaware, and I felt the Lord telling me that I needed to talk with him. I then said that God was good, and He takes care of what we need, and He knows what we need before we even ask. He looked at me and this huge smile spread across his face, and he said, "Yes. I know Him. He's EXACTLY like what you say." I felt a little strange when he said it. I was thinking, does he know him the WAY that I KNOW HIM, or does he REALLY KNOW Him?! I had no fear, only great peace inside of myself. I told him God bless him and I would be praying for him. He said, thank you. I turned around for a split second towards my car. I turned back around but he had vanished! I looked all around the parking lot, but he was gone! It was like no one was ever there! I've always thought about that in my mind. I still remember what he looked like. And I'm still so glad that I helped him. Praise God!
@Chris Hunter If we see everyone that way, how can we be ministers in the name of Jesus?. God will deal with Him if he did. But I did my due diligence in the name of the Lord. That's all I'm responsible for. God will take care of the rest. Right?
I always assumed this song was about the verse in Hebrews that talks about entertaining angels unaware. However, according to Peter Furler, it's actually about Luke 15:7, which talks about how all of heaven rejoices when one lost sinner repents. That is to say, we're "entertaining" the angels by giving them cause to celebrate when we turn back to God!
This song resonates so many emotions for me. Such a deep range. Happiness, sorrow, love, nostalgic youth, emptiness, fulfillment, tears, laughter. This song is my youth encapsulated. It goes by so fast. Oh to bottle said youth and have that infancy of faith and my first steps and walk with God. Happy tears as I type. The joy Newsboys fill my heart with is unbound. Thank you Jesus for choosing me. Thank you for continuing my hearts fulfiment. He is good. He is worthy.
Great comment. I was a young teen when I first listened to this and can recall those same feelings, faith, energy, and wonder. But also have gone through so many struggles and battles since then with the world, and it's dark forces. I'm lucky to be alive and my faith stronger than ever now. Wish I could send a time capsule back to that boy.
My path with God has strayed so wildly over the years, I've distanced myself from my local church due to their political leans being more important than their spiritual strength and solidarity, and while I'm baptized and grown up as a Christian from childhood, I've allowed myself to broaden my mind and heart to the world and all walks of life and found what it means to be a Christian in my heart and in my relationship with God. And despite that being less bombastic as some Christians are nowadays, one thing I remember and always delight in is this song. It never ever fails to lift my mood with its soaring vocals and instrumentals. I saw Newsboys in concert when I was a teenager with my church group and enjoyed it immensely, even got an autograph on my arm by the band members. This song always holds a special place for me in my heart no matter how close or far I wander in God's reach.
Crazy this song doesn't have more views. I had the single on cd. I always liked "jars of clay", and "DC talk".. this particular song was my introduction to this group/band in the late 90s.And to this day, it is still my favorite!

Entertaining Angels by Newsboys, better than all Pink Floyd songs. Wild to think about, but compare it and you'll find it's true. I'm no Christian, but I have ears to hear, and that song has a clear drumroll beat and cadence and preaching song that sings to your heart that beats out all Pink Floyd songs. Years ago I entertained an Angel at my parents church. God had warned me the church would be tested due to very bad choices people were making. Of course I didn't realize it was an Angel untill thinking it through days later. The story is too long for here but the church declined rapidly after that becausre they never got their act together for the Lord. I found out later this was the second time they were tested and this time I was the only one that greated and helped the "man" as he appeared homeless. But later I remembered the incredible power coming off of him and the glowing eyes I saw for just a split second while I was talking to him. I have been a dedicated Christian all my life.

When my son Matthew died at the young age of 20 my heart broke. He was a greeter at Wal-Mart and he always told people, “God Bless you Sir!” or “God Bless you Mam!” as the people entered the store and left. One day a man was walking out of the store and he was singing, “Soon and very soon, You are going to see the King.” My son Matthew recognized this as a Hymn from Church. He said, “God Bless you Sir!” And the man looked right at my son and said words that were shocking, “And God Bless you Matthew Daly Campbell.” What!? How did he know my entire name-my son Matthew thought? He came home and told me as his Dad the entire story that day. He was shocked and surprised. He said, “Dad I could not believe he knew my name-I looked for him outside-but he was gone!” Just a month and a half later my son Matthew died. I believe to this very day that the man my son Matthew saw was an angel and God used that angel to comfort my heart of letting me know in the time of my deepest grief that my son Matthew was safely home with Jesus-the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
