    I've done this water pump replacement 3 times between the 2 jeeps I own. Models prior to 2008 are even easier. A little advice for newbys. Position the new pump on a card board box in the same orientation it is on the motor. Poke holes through the water pump mounting holes into the box with a phillips screwdriver. Note the position of the pump on the box. As you remove the bolts from the water pump on the motor place them in the corresponding holes in the box. Makes it very easy to reinstall. Very important to use a funnel refill system to ensure that there is no air in the system. Air can be stuck in the heater core which will cause your heater to fail.

    Oreilly's waterpump is lifetime guaranteed. Bought 1 in 2016, now i got this 1 for free. I think I am going to tackle it myself after this video.

    My 2011 Liberty 3.7L is exhibiting symptoms of a bad water pump. I can never keep the radiator topped off, although the coolant tank is always full, and now there is no heat but the temps are running on the high side. So it looks like I'll be tackling this job in a day or two. Thanks for the video!

    I was just quoted $660 to replace the water pump, so thanks to your video I purchased a pump for $59 and I’ll be replacing it myself. Let you know how I go. Thank you

    Great vid. How do know how much coolant to put inside after the repair? Also my power steering fluid is empty. Why did that happen? I noticed my belt snapped and was gone. The Jeep was very hard to steer into parking lot. Does power steering naturally drop when you got a water pump leak or do you think my belt cracked the reservoir? Also why does my 2010 Jeep Liberty have a fan attached to the nipple of the water pump? I see no other videos with this configuration? Thank you!

    How far down did that coolant temp sensor seat? I can barely get mine down past the thread patch without it feeling like it will snap

    I like the part where we dump all the coolant on the ground.

    I have the mechanical fan how do i remove it

    • @Gasdieselgarage
      @Gasdieselgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t remember the size but you need a wrench I think a 36mm but don’t hold me to that…you slide it down behind the fan on to the shaft… you then loosen it counter clock wise (or like you’re tightening it)…it should spin off. There are special tools that can be bought to make it easier. It’s called (fan clutch wrench kit )

    Why do people put music in these types of videos where noises are important?
