- Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, but it also comes with a lot of changes-physically, emotionally, and mentally. In today’s video, I’m sharing my current skincare routine while opening up about the mental health struggles and body image challenges I’ve been facing during pregnancy. It’s not always easy to embrace these changes, but I want to have an honest conversation about it.
If you’re going through something similar, know that you’re not alone. Let’s support each other in the comments. 💛

Glad you shared your take on this 😊 It’s nice to see all sides of pregnancy and what we envision and what changes ❤
🥹🥹thank you!
Currently pregnant with me second lil sunshine and yeah the struggle is rought i gained 100 pounds with my first sun and between the melasma the skin tags, the strech mark, the varicose veins and the extra weight im a mess. The mental struggle is hard ill get better. You have the most precious and beautiful baby inside of you . Most of the other things can be corrected after if you really struggle with it. At least that's been my thinking.
I am also permanently consumed by my weight. I’ve learned to be as healthy as I can about it- but it’s just a part of me, so I get it.
When I got pregnant, I was in the best shape of my life. I said I’d only gain the 25-35, but I gained 65. I was swollen and “fat” and so uncomfortable.
I also couldn’t wait for the bump!! So normal. You’re carrying TWO babies! You’re going to get big! You’re a goddess creating LIFE! 😇🦋
I am petite and I didn’t show clearly until like 6 months. I just felt like a chunky little moose before that. Once you have the bump you sort of move past the rest of the weight gain…. It helps anyways. 😂
Love you girl so happy for you. It’s totally fine to feel this way! I felt that way the whole pregnancy. It sucks us millennials are so broken in our heads about body image but it is what it is.
Your body will come back. If you breastfeed, it definitely helps. When I quit breastfeeding I gained 15 lbs and I’m currently working that off😅.
Love you happy for you and I get you!
This was the sweetest and most real comment-thank you thank you thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️🥹🙏
So beautifully said!! I appreciate your thoughts because I have a similar body type as you (from what you've said) but also feel my BEST when I am able to be active, lean, build muscle, and feel athletic - so I've had the same fears as you are voicing now during pregnancy! Because I also just don't feel myself during everyday life I I am not able to exercise as much as I like to, so I think about how that would play out during pregnancy often. I haven't ever been pregnant but will most likely be a mom some day. So thank you for your honesty and saying that both thoughts can be present at the same time, and trying to balance them both is key - I have never heard anyone say it like that before! Seriously, THANK you! You help give hope!
So so so glad it resonates with you. I think there are a lot of parts of pregnancy that aren’t talked about that I’d love to talk more about. There’s no right feeling or way of being but sometimes with the overly-curated world we live in, it can seem like there is a “correct” way
Hahaha yasssss I ❤ a petite comment ❤
Hahaha right?!
Dana.....from a man's perspective....you'll do fine....!!!
The body changes anyway as we get older 😅.
What about trying a skin care series for pregnant women....maybe ingredients to avoid...sunscreen options....?..😊
Thank you, Manuel! I use pretty much the same skincare just no retinol.
I enjoyed this format of video and getting to know you more :)
I have a thought on the skincare... And this isn't aimed at you, but at the way people apply products in general.
A lot of ingredients in products are surfactants, emulsifiers etc... For example, even the ever present glycerin is a surfactant. Which means if you spread a layer of product on your skin and then smudge over it using a different product, chances are you're removing most of the first layer of product. At the very least, you're smudging them and making the coverage uneven.
Tapping products into the skin should create a more even coverage and layering, right? Or am I just overthinking it?
Thanks! I’ve definitely heard people who do this and advocate for it, and it certainly won’t hurt I don’t think. Me personally, I’m a bit lazy 😂so I doubt I could do it consistently
We are our own worst critic.
Three pregnancies, three different situations. It was all the outside opinions and voices during each that I could have done without, and that sucked then, and still does. You will be as you're supposed to be, it's usually not as or what we have in our mind's eye or mindset. Take the time to rest, stay hydrated, and enjoy your pregnancy. 🩷🩷🩷
Totally agree! In the end it’s a temporary state and as long as babies are healthy, all is good
