Dominik is channeling pure Attitude Era vibes, for those of us that remember watching it week to week it is like being transported back in time. The kid is crushing it. Eddie would be proud.
Austin’s heel turn was the absolute worst in all of professional wrestling. It made no sense for the hell-raising, rebellious, no-nonsense guy who defied all authority to become allies with his biggest enemy, Vince McMahon, the boss himself… it ruined that entire storyline for good and destroyed wrestling’s mainstream popularity in the process.

15:43 It was the now late Superstar Billy Graham who he dropped the title to in 1977. Backlund beat Superstar. Bruno was a commentator at this time of the feud with Zybysko
It's amazing how many times a bland babyface's career was made infinitely better by them turning heel. Dominik likely would've been out of this industry within the year and left virtually no impact whatsoever outside of being Rey's mediocre son. And now he is one of the biggest heel heat magnets in wrestling today.
There are certain wrestlers who are so incredibly bland and boring as baby faces. Unfortunately, some of them have baby face move sets. Dolph Ziggler is a great example -- a fine heel personality when given the chance, but his move set is baby face. I personally think Cody Rhodes is horrible as a baby face even though he has a first rate move set. In AEW the fans were so bored with him that in his last months he was consistently booed out of the building by the fans even thought he continued to be booked as a baby face. WWE have taken to him, but I suspect that they only did so because he deserted AEW. I think his baby face act is going to wear very thin fairly soon.
Backlunds heel turn and his entire return was never wanted or needed. No fan wanted to boo or even cheer him anymore. He wasn't on the level of the new generation.
My two favorites were Paul Orndorff turning on Hogan and Barry Windham turning on Lex Luger and joining the Horsemen. The Shield breaking up was the one I didn't see coming at all

While yes he wasn't heel abroad, he was very much an American heel and it taking place as Wrestlemania in the classic double turn, and then him giving his best promos of his career (much like Backland), but showing off better in ring matches on a consistent basis... was a great overlooked heel turn that ended with the Screwjob, and WCW not knowing what to do with him for over a year.

Tommaso Ciampa should have been on this list. Him betraying Johnny Gargano and turning heel at Takeover Chicago 2017 lead to the best character work Ciampa has ever done, the best heel work in quite some time and arguably the best feud in NXT during the best period in NXT history
"But whose side is he on?" as Hogan walked to the ring prior to his heel turn is one of the absolute worst off-the-cuff calls in pro wrestling history.
Everybody seems to forget about World Class Championship Wrestling when 2 of the greatest heel turns took place. When the Fabulous Freebirds turned on The Von Erichs leading to one of the greatest fueds of all times! & the same can be said when "Gentleman" Chris Adams turned on his friend Kevin Von Erich! An angle that was later copied when Shawn Michael's turned on Marty Jennetty. W.C.C.W. did it better cause you never saw it coming but even Stevie Wonder could see it coming with Michael's & Jennetty
An honorable mention should be when Dean Ambrose turned heel on Seth Rollins. Like many others, I was speechless. Did not see that one coming. The turn itself was great, but Ambrose’s heel run was a bust.
Hogans turning heel was a nuclear bomb. It’s really hard to describe because he wrestled in an era when it was “real”. He was the ultimate good guy. I don’t think it’s possible to have a bigger heel turn. Only because that environment will never exist again.

Not just Ricky but Rey mysterio
Tito Santana
Tommaso Ciampa should have been on this list. Him betraying Johnny Gargano and turning heel at Takeover Chicago 2017 lead to the best character work Ciampa has ever done, the best heel work in quite some time and arguably the best feud in NXT during the best period in NXT history
I gotta give it to Vince, Vince was the best heel ever..🤣🤣
Great work on all these videos Andy..👌👍
"But whose side is he on?" as Hogan walked to the ring prior to his heel turn is one of the absolute worst off-the-cuff calls in pro wrestling history.
steve austin and chris Jericho. Best bad guys ever to root for.
Damnn..how u leave the rocks heel turn out of this list..crazy
Jeff Hardy’s heel turn in tna could of been great if he was clean at that time

You think you know him? Edge's heel turn was 😎
Everybody seems to forget about World Class Championship Wrestling when 2 of the greatest heel turns took place.
Cm Punk was and still is in my mind the best heal to ever be in WWE...he was good in ring good on mic and connected with audience even tho he was heel
Heel CM Punk and Jericho is much fun to watch additional bonus is the Hollywood The Rock
"Plan b" and "not on this night" still hurt me to this day
18:04 honestly I don’t Dominick Mysterio as Eddie Guerrero’s Kayfabe son, I see him as Billy Hargrove from stranger things
There has never been an angle that compares to Ole Anderson turning on Dusty Rhodes in a tag team cage match.
