My cousin is a 4 star general (he was for 30 years Brigadier General Stan Lillie), retired now... I love to see military awards being put in a place where the gentleman will still be remembered and celebrated. That sort of thing is very close to my heart. Thank you, Andrew, for recognizing the importance of honoring these men who served.

@@jo-anndinardi6607 So you'd rather this stuff end up in the dump? Because that's where it would end up if it wasn't sold. Andrew is keeping these men and women alive by reselling these pieces to collectors who do honour these people. So what if he makes money doing it? Time, money and storage doesn't come freely and he needs to make a living. Drew is always respectful when discussing military items, not to mention his knowledge of the history and era surrounding it. You would know this if you watched regularly. I smell troll...

He didn’t have to say anything or recognize it at all. So, no matter what the purchase was for, I think it’s wonderful that he gave honor to the soldier’s service. Since when did we start criticizing “how” and “when” our military men and women should be recognized? Come on now.

They purchase them and make them available to collectors or others who will cherish them, but who don't have time or the opportunity to find them. Red dye is unstable, so it does creates issues. Typically you used to soak red fabric in salt water to set the dye. And on cutter quilts, if you just collect quilts and display them, you can fold it in a stack and no one knows ( or cares) about small issues! Andrew, for all of us who have issues with chemical smells, please do not use dryer sheets to make the musty smell go away. There’s many articles online to address that issue and none of them had dryer sheets as a solution. Love, love, love your finds. That’s why my first choice of buying to resell is estate sales, you find such great pieces to resell that typically never make it to the thrift stores. Oh, I love the sheep, many people collect sheep just as a decoration.

Quality is key, pay more you’ll make more. The tree of life is Erica Wilson, I believe. Most of the crewel is. You would need to dry clean those pieces to CYA yourself on bleeding. The red is an acidic dye. It will deteriorate if it wasn’t well rinsed early in its life. The beaded pictures are Mill Hill.

I like quilts when they have some worn areas. Give the piece history, softness and you know it was used. I have a couple really old ones with worn areas. My mom also makes fabulous new quilts. I love those too. She made me a HUGE Christmas quilt in reds, green and creams. It’s STUNNING! But I don’t decorate in traditional Christmas colors. I’m tempted to sell it but then my heart hurts because I know she made it for me. I asked her to make me another in blues, greys and whites. It turned out really well!!! I’m really excited to display it.
I may throw the red and green one on my bed. It’s just so pretty.

To remove odors of all kinds: plain kitty litter. A quarter of a cup in a knee high nylon inside a shoe will absorb moisture. I once got HORRIBLE odor out of three ball gowns using a pair of panty hose filled with litter and sealed gowns inside a wedding gown bag. For Drew’s books: I would put kitty litter in hosiery and seal it into a tote or bag and it will do two things: absorb ODOR & more importantly: MOISTURE. Give it a whirl!

I’m a quilter, and you guessed correctly. It’s the dyes that they use in the fabric. The darker the color the longer it must sit in the dye. Which over time will wear much faster than the lighter colors that have a tighter weave. They are all Very Beautiful. I love to find antique and vintage quilts that are not complete. When I can just buy the pieced top, that way I can go through and repair any damage and add batting and back fabric and machine quilt it myself. I was a rep and actually met her in person once in the early 1980s. She was born in England in 1928 and moved to the U.S. in 1954. Keep the kitten. Andrew, those with asthma shouldn't smoke. Please, for your health. I smoked two packs a day, and quit many years ago...I swear. The patch is the answer.

I have asthma real bad. This year has been awful. I thought I was going to die. Please don't smoke. They say most of my problems is from 2nd hand smoke.

Becky Miller mine sure was! Never smoked a day in my life. My parents did. Now l have COPD! Yaaa! Not!!! Please don’t smoke around yours or any children.

The patch AND the will. You have to want to quit, very badly in order for anything to work. I smoked for many years, it took the gum, the patches, a ton of candy and a ton of will power. 11 years now.

Hiya Jocelyn & Andrew, I’m in *love* w/ those art nouveau pins they’re gorgeous! I’m sure you’ll make at least 2-3x what you paid total; as you said it’ll level out between what sells high & what doesn’t but you’re off to a great start. Kitty is so adorable! She lets you do what you want because you guys rescued her. Andrew she looked so sweet in your arms but my eyes started tearing & itching knowing you’re highly allergic (bloody empathy bites🙁), wash well! Have a lovely day! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️

Love what you and Andrew bought at the estate sale. Loved to see the military documents and books too. All of the objects you picked were interesting and beautiful. Big difference from the GW bins. When I would scream or yell about a bug or mouse in the house my husband would snicker at me too. Men love to see women react that way. Then we lived in Ecuador in Quito and all sorts of varmints crawled into the house under my big heavy doors...now mice and bugs don't bother me so much. I would yell about snakes though. Love you two...glad you found each other!!! 😍😍😍

Holy cow that was an amazing estate sale and the prices were awesome. I absolutely love the quilts ,the beautiful glass and the military stuff is so cool. So how much meds did you have to ingest after you held the adorable kitten Drew?

The cameo reminds me of when I was about 8 Metal detecting with my late father he found one on a gold chain I was hooked forever :) no way Drew holding the cat it looks so cute with its leg up in the air . Those tuppaware trays make for a good picnic is what I had when my son was little. Love how you keep all the military history my Grandfather was in Burma in ww2 , he never spoke about it only skirted around it , I believe he was awarded the Burma star but did not take his medals, all of our family drifted apart when he passed.

I love the micro mosaic. The very first piece of jewelry I bought at an estate/farm auction was a box lot someone else bought for something that was in the box and they sold me a small box out of it with the pin in it for $1.00. I have several nice pieces all bought about 40 years ago and I still love them and look for them. You an Drew have such great and informative videos! Thank you so much!

The pieces can be replaced in the quit. My mom made one for my daughter and she used it so much it got a couple of holes. She found a fabric to replace it and fixed it.

Jocelyn and Andrew, you both are very business savvy. It seems like the textiles and unusual smaller pieces draw the most interest and money for you. Less shipping hassles too! Wouldn’t be surprised to see your business model and focus change over time. You might really benefit from an annual Crazy Lamp Lady gathering in your area. Something to consider. Good way yearly to clear out inventory. Cha-Ching!

What are you 28 years old. And Andrew what 30. What did you guys do in high school. Study art, pottery, military, & glassware. You know everything. And it makes me mad cause I know nothing.
☹️ Wait; I do know how to shoot a gun, shoot a bow & arrow. Very good at both. I know Fenton, Fred Bear , & coffee. I know about the war of 1812 and how it impacted Mackinaw Island, Michigan. My favorite flower are lilacs. My name is Sandy Foor. I 65 years old and you guys are so much smarter than I was at that age. So keep enlightening me on stuff. I love it. And both of you 🥰
