Gregory doesn't speak to Cassie directly until the end of the game, where he explains that he was never in the Pizzaplex and she was tricked. He then directs her towards an elevator where she manages to sever one of the Mimic's hands, and then explains that the entity she kept seeing in the AR world was meant to keep the Mimic contained, but she freed it. The Mimic then cuts him off, posing as him, and says it's not her fault (something Gregory likely would have said anyway), but that they can't let her be followed. The elevator is then dropped back to the abandoned pizza place
