If you didny know, swipe right on the pad to remove the blood from the katana after combat, looks cool lmao & swipe down to bow down to enemies after you kill em
I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere in the comments so I figure I would. But hunting deer in Japan is frowned upon. So thats why you don’t get anything when you kill them.
I've always loved the symbolism of Jin's father being the guiding wind, and his mother being the golden bird (according to Yuriko). Makes simple mechanics far more substantial and impactful. Don't be afraid to take a page from Ellie's book when it comes to the dogs, lol. Loot is crucial and they can be a real thorn in your side once they've spotted you.
IIRC the firefly was added in a patch because the "getting warmer" controller vibration was difficult for players to use effectively. Now there are both visual and haptic cues.
@@ChristopherKDavis this makes sense. Figured I wasn't crazy cause I'd never seen them during my platinum run of the story. Would've been so much more helpful
This might be my favourite open world game, so beautiful and the rewards for exploring are so worth it. The 1st area looks cool but the 2nd area has the best enviroments imo.
Don't try to dodge every attack, only the red ones, and try to parry the rest. Perfect Parry - the ability in talents tree - is one of the deadliest attacks in the game vs bosses. It gives a very damaging blow after every perfect parry timed right. You can't use your weapons, kunai or bow, during boss fights, but you can use special abilities, such as Perfect Parry. There is almost always a window of attack after parrying.
One of the fantasy series that set me on the path of samurai lore and mythology was the TOME GOZEN series, by Jessica Amanda Salmonson. The hero was, unsurprisingly, is based on the historical Tomoe Gozen, an onna-musha (female samurai) who served alongside the warlord Yoshinake in his unsuccessful bid to become Shogun. To this day, I still love that series. When I heard that Ishikawa's foe was called Tomoe, it all came rushing back.
If the arrows are giving you a hard time. There's an Accessibility option i believe where you can turn on a visual indicator for when the archers are shooting at you. it's really helpful but I guess adds more on screen also, headshots with the bow definitely make a difference.
Okay, i know this is old, but when you notice the bamboo growing through the mongol, this is supposedly a torture method used by Japan during WWII. It was featured on an episode of myth busters and shown to be plausible specifically with “fast growing” bamboo. But this is why Jin asks about the forest growth when he first walks up. Just another bit of real world lore that made it into the game
So when you killed those deer, here is the thing you had the correct thinking for video game logic just it burned you here. Not sure if you pay attention to the loading screens but deer on the island of Tsushima are a sacred animal basically so that is why you get nothing here. For Bears, Pigs and Dogs though if you kill them you will get what are called "Predator Hides" and those can be traded in game for something specific, I won't say what in case you haven't come across that yet.
Just found a ps5 for $330 and am currently playing through Ragnarok. This game is amazing(played on OG ps4) and i cant wait to replay it with these amazing graphics! Of course i will be watching your playthrough as well. You guy seem very cool and down to earth!
Loved this episode and it's great seeing you both enjoy the environment of the game so much. For bamboo strikes you can go into the settings and remove the timer so it makes that 3rd strike a lot easier
Are you guys thinking of doing the Iki Island DLC? It dives a lot more into Jin’s past and is an exciting expansion overall, would love to see you two cover it
Dont always dodge backwards and away, dodge to the side and forward so you end up behind the enemy and can counter. Remember to not always roll, but simply tap to step to the side and still be in range so you can still attack them

Block, parry and counter, dont dodge attacks that you can parry, use them as an opportunity to attack

Agreed! They make the experience so much more seamless and immersive! And for now on, I shall spare no doggos, I need those predator hides after all!
The green firefly is an ability of the Travelers outfit. It directs you to records, artifacts, and other lore.

@@EricSarahLevelUp Also use technique point on perfect parry. It is so badass.

Great tip! I just started my first play and was a bit confused by that, but it makes sense now. Thank you!
Did you know that you can manually put away your sword by swiping the pad right

Glad you enjoyed the episode!!
The deflection tree is your friend.
Legends mode is a more or less separate multiplayer game using similar mechanics and maps. It takes you out of Jin’s story line.
Are you guys thinking of doing the Iki Island DLC? It dives a lot more into Jin’s past and is an exciting expansion overall, would love to see you two cover it
Yes! We’ll try our best to dive into everything!
Side note, please play all of Lady Masako’s Missions! You will not be disappointed!
Legends Mode is Ultra Hard Multi-player Online mode
I’ve never been this early! Watching this as I get ready for bed 💅 (Night Shift) lol

You should make that a short - flying with the help of an arrow.🤣
Awesome 🎉🎉🎉
Mongol dogs are basically Tibetan Mastiff, Google images please
Gigantism for doggos 😂
🎉
Dont kill the deer plz the reason you get nothing us because they are sacred animals on tsushima so the ppl who live there would not try to kill them
