Just a little fun fact in medical terms all "broken" bones are called fractures. Just depends how the bone was broken as to what type of fracture what most people consider to be a "broken" bone is actually called a compound fracture. And what most people think as a "fracture" is a hairline fracture. A broken bone is more of a colloquial term while fracture is the correct medical term.

@@kneau my bad I didn't mean to seem like the um actually guy ill edit it. They just seemed confused when they called it a fracture so I just tried to clear that up. Glad some people just took it as educational but I can also see how my statement might come off a little pretentious which was not my intention.

What a lot of people seem to miss about A-Train, is that yes he's an ass, but he's also terrified of Homelander, just like everyone else. He basically killed Popclaw because Homelander told him to. He blames Hughie for putting her in that position.
A-Train is just like everyone else, caught in between what Vought wants him to do, what Homelander *tells* him to do, wanting to not lose the money, the fame and adoration, and struggling with it all. Plus his addiction to V.

Yeah but still. Fuck him. He has multiple opportunities in the show where he could fuck over Homelander without him ever knowing and always just goes full coward mode. He's almost as pathetic as The Deep.
Ugh and those scenes in season 3 where he won't even stick his neck out for his own brother let alone Culture. Seriously. Utter coward.
Man, almost every character in The Boys is complex and really well written. Even The Deep who is a total scumbag for doing what he did to Starlight, has moments that make you like him. Almost all his scenes have an undertone of both hilarity and horror/tragedy. Chace Crawford (with the help of the writing) walks along those lines really well.
I actually feel for Deep. He gets mocked and trashed by everyone, so he treats others below him as trash in turn. It's a vicious cycle.

Yeah, I like how they handled The Deep. In today's world it's easy to just write people off as complete monsters based on their actions, and forget that humans are complex and ever-changing.

I love his arc though. He's so pathetic that I have to pity him. But pitying him doesn't require caring about him.
They did foreshadow A-Train's condition a few episodes ago where his brother is explaining the detrimental side effects of the Compound V such as enlarging of the heart, shrinking of the testicles, and decreased bone density. That's why his leg broke so readily when struck by Kimiko, and now his heart attack
Homelander seems to prefer using his laser vision to dish out his killing blows. I feel it's just a bit of laziness and perhaps showmanship. He doesn't need to move around, just glance and blast.
It's probably a good thing we'll never see Stillwell again, but the question might be how does her death impact Homelander if at all?
Season 2 and 3 are gonna be a joy to see you react to! Can't wait.

This ending is one of the biggest changes from the comics, as in the books Becca actually did die (right in front of Butcher, who beat the baby to death afterwards).
Comic was just trying hard to be cringe af. I'm glad for the changes in the TV show much better flow.

you dont perform actual cpr on a person that doesnt need it. thats why the chest compressions look so stupid. its like that in all television and movies. thought this was common knowledge. because you know, you could actually cause significantly more harm on someone who doesnt need it. (in this case A-train's actor)

Worth it to save someone's life, but def not recommended unless someone's heart has actually stopped.

I dont want to immediately bash Annie's father for not being around without knowing more information. Maybe he was threatened (they probably had to sign NDAs when they did this Compound V program, and who knows what else once they knew the father backed out...Vought is fuckin scary), I kind of hope Annie reunites with him later on.

Not giving any spoilers, but it amazes me how many reactors seem to take Homelander at his word about his interaction with Becca. WhenI watched this episode, I presumed he was either deliberately lying or just didn’t understand himself that he had scared her into submitting because he’s so threatening. And of course he was mostly bragging about his prowess.
At any rate, looking forward to the next season and see what you think about Becca’s side of things and more. 👍
(Btw, this isn’t meant as criticism… I saw some people who seemed more upset at the reaction in the comments below. I just think it says a lot about how hard it must be for women to come forward when it’s so common (and human) for people to take the word of the first witness they hear, even when he’s known to be horrible. And even though obviously you may have come to a different conclusion after hearing both sides, it’s very interesting to see how tough that must be on victims.)
A lot times descriptions like these make women sound like children or cowardly people who have no agency and just can't help but be manipulated and live in a existence of paranoia, basically a way to avoid accountability but I understand where you're coming from..... In defense of homelander although he seems humans as disposable insects Becca was shown to be very fond of him like a fan seeing their idol so her coming on to him isn't really a stretch.
Scenes with Homelander are really something, but they sure make good reactions, and its great character! Thanks for starting Boys, really enjoyed all your reactions, and looking forward to season 2 and 3.

I think it shows how everyone is much more the same than people like to think. How quickly did he become less than human, and not worth anything? Very quickly, and as a result nobody cares about what happens to him. Like he didn't care about the people he hurt.
I actually love The Deep pathetic scenes, sometimes it comes to a point where I don't know when the show wants to make his misery funny or when I should feel bad for him

A-Train is a complicated character too like. He has these moments when he is really likeable and you so want to root for him. But then he'll have these other moments, when his a complete asshole and so easy to root against. He's a rollercoaster, up and down type of character.
Honestly that is the best way to put my feelings about him! I want to root for him but then I remember the club scene concerning Robin... and Popclaw. D: -Sam

when do they realize that the supes aren't made of compound V and are actual people who were just injected with it. Idk why they are so convinced that the kids were artificially made in labs when the only one who was like that was homelander.

I know Homelander has done some bad unforgivable things but I still feel sorry for him because he is the way he is because of the evil corporation. To be treated so cold without love and raised like that in a lab your whole life. His character is interesting to say the least. Can’t wait for more reactions.

my question is- what does injected V do to people with non-passive or like non- body type abilities(like super strengh speed etc)? Also if given in small doses never increasing the dose beyond like maybe 1/5 of what's in the usual syringe when they inject. How much would this increase their abilities? I mean everytime we see this in use i feel like we see them use SO much of it and never just a wee dose. I mean v literally gave them their powers- why is it negatively effecting so much when they are adults? Also why havent we seen any super intelligence yet? the v serum created an evolved fish human species aka the deep yet it never created someone with SUUUUUUUUUUUUPER inteligence that could possibly help the enemies (Vought) or even the Boys.. like give us more powers and answers P L E A S E.
I just wanna see people with flashy powers like starlight or someone similar use v and see how much it actually effects their ability and how it would "boost" their abilities- if it does at all. Maybe it is just all passive physical abilities that do get enhanced bc it's not like popclaw's claws get visibly sharper/stronger/evolved/upgraded after she took the V. :c so many questions

Season 1 was the best, in my opinion. The most tension, the most drama. By season 2, the sides are settled and their intentions are clear but the first season, you don't know what to expect each episode.

I hate this culture we have where we don't believe women or where we automatically assume she betrayed him or is in the wrong. Even other women clearly think this way. I remember watching this when it aired and not once did I ever doubt Becca was raped or ever think that she was somehow in the wrong.
The show specifically built the narrative that way, and you are supposed to not be sure. It has nothing to do with real life. The fact you "believed her" is not a good thing, it just shows you didn't care about the story in this case.

The thing I love about the deeps story line in the first season is it exposes peoples hypocrisy. Yes what he did with Starlight is terrible but when the same (arguably worse) happens to him people laugh at and mock him. It puts people misandry of full display.
