    Iv had for almost a year now and yeah it’s still the best board. I’m the king of the shreds. 🎉 I found out some really cool tricks and mods to keep it fresh, and there are some slicks boards out there but, nothing compares to the hurricane. Get it with the gear drive. 🙌 🎉

    Try it on T/B 110mm wheels with meepo's 40t pully 28 miles im 240LB. Slightly less agile / but much more stable / more comfortable under foot & ive run it on 83/85/90/97mm wheels. The 110s are a good compromise between the A/Ts & a more range street set up. I have the only spare battery in the UK at the moment so can swap hence over 1500 miles since Jan. I had a Trampa & this thing runs it so close on everything apart from off road. Mine was £1500 the evolve H was £2400 a £900 ($1200) differance for what are basicly the same things ive no regrets on getting the HURRICANE

    I love my Meepo Hurricane and used it as one of the test boards for the MAD Wheelz. I have more than 1000 miles on mine and ride it almost daily. Recently I swapped out the stock ESC for a 100amp version currently available on the Meepo website. The power is unreal with the new ESC and I have to turn it down to mode 3 for daily riding. I love the deep concave of the deck and it keeps me really locked in. Some may find the concave to be too much resulting in foot fatigue. Also, I sometimes get a disconnect buzz from the remote that gets more frequent in heavy traffic metropolitan areas. I have never had an actual disconnect. The stock pneumatic tires are not good and wear out very quickly. I got about 200 miles out of mine. Replace them with a set of Hota or BKB tires and you will be good to go. Also, the Linyi ESC is not the most refined and is not as easy to do fine adjustments to your speed compared to the Hobbywing. This may not bother most people but it is noticeable, especially going uphill. Overall, the Hurricane is a top notch board. I liked it so much I order a Voyager last week!

    • @DrewElia
      @DrewElia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love all of this! Also I didn’t know they put out a new ESC! You’re right the esc is very very nice with the ability to choose different speed modes and break modes. Great addition of information my dude! Thank you!

    280lb rider. Trying to decide between Meepo Hurricane Ultra and Exway Atlas for a first board.

    • @DrewElia
      @DrewElia  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve ridden both of them, I have an atlas pro on the way so I can do more testing with it! You really can’t go wrong with either one, it depends on what YOU are looking for in a board, the one advantage that meepo has is it does have a bamboo version of the hurricane and Exway doesn’t, but the atlas pro has the option to upgrade to the AUX pack giving you an insane amount of battery power and range of you upgrade to that option even down the road.
      What are you wants or needs in a board?

    Great video, the only part I disagree with you is the kingpin issue. A kingpin should never break or bend unless under extreme forces. I have seen thousands of boards and trucks. I have never seen a kingpin break or bend unless they were involved in a crash like hitting a curb at 25mph+ or getting run over by a vehicle. Other than those extreme cases the kingpin issue that Meepo experienced on their boards was 1000% manufacturer error and their fault. Tightening the kingpin only compresses the bushings and they would rip causing instability before the kingpin failed.

    • @DrewElia
      @DrewElia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, hence why meepo recasted and upgraded their trucks for the newer boards. Though I haven’t experienced any issues on my board with these situations. If you dig the content please subscribe to the channel I have more product reviews coming out soon!

    It’s a great board but it’s sooo heavy, I am hoping that means it’s durable bc a buddy has 2. Compared to my BKB type R tho I can list several things I prefer. For one I have full access to exact battery percentage among a ton of other info via “yours truly” app as well I can toggle settings. I also loved/hated the DKP trucks. Riding the hurricane it throws you into full carves with the most gentle touch. Tho this could be his setup vs my setup, but I should mention that my buddy also enjoy the comfort of “safer feeling” carving on my Type R. I would like to try some speed tests next group meet up.
    My biggest thing is there is no app for battery percentage and other settings.

    • @DrewElia
      @DrewElia  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s an interesting statement, while there are a lot of companies who have started and given a lot more value for money, I don’t belive that the hurricane is the worst board for value. I still have mine with several hundred of Miles on it. It’s been through so many different iterations from gear drives, belt drives, tkp, dkp, ShocBoard systems. But it’s always been there. So saying it’s the worst value for money seems to be an interesting statement overall. Is it top pick in 2024, not exactly. A lot of companies offer more bang for buck but that board blazed the way for a lot of people who got into eskate

      Ugh, there are a lot of options in this category, if you’re primarily going off road than I’d start looking into gear drive boards, exway atlas pro, acedeck NYX z1, meepo hurricane carbon, tynee explorer, propel endeavor pro, are just a few that come to mind. For off roading capabilities, they all have good range 25-35 miles but off roading is really hard on a battery, so range will suffer. Any of these boards can support your weight and they are all pretty comfortable some more than others for the flexibility. Sorry that doesn’t directly answer the question but it opens up the conversation!

    Nice video man. Can you swap the battery for another one you could keep in a backpack ? (not talking about the surge battery option). Also could this additional battery be charged without being inside the Hurricane board ? I currently have the Evolve GTR (v1) with 2 batteries, and it's quite easy to swap them and charge them independently of the skateboard, and it's something I'm looking for. How would you compare this board to the Evolve Hadean ? Thanks

      So, I mean yes I guess you could carry another 12s4p battery on you strapped to your back if you wanted to, the deck too comes off and the battery is in side of that you can unplug and plug another in, but there are so many options of new boards that could give you more range o faster chargers. How dare you are you looking to go in a single ride? 40-50 miles?

      @@DrewElia Thanks for your reply. Well, I'm currently doing this with my Evolve GTR (version 1). If I'm in Street setup with two batteries (one in my backpack), I can go up to 80-90Km in one ride if I don't push too hard and stay in Eco. With AT wheels I'm closer to 50-60Km in one go. The good point being that I can charge up the battery not only when connected to the skateboard but also on its own, separately in the backpack. This makes the whole operation really easy when I go back home. What other board model would you recommend that is 2 in 1, allowing Street and AT wheels setup, and swap batteries on the go easily ? Thanks again dude.

      it does not have an app, though the remote has a screen that gives you all of your detail, Tripmeter, speed, remote power, board power , speed mode your in and break mode you're in. I find it has everything I need while riding! If you haven't subscribed to the channel please help me out and subscribe if you give the content! Hope that helps!

    I'm sold but because I live in the Caribbean it's very difficult to attain first off if I use my Miami forwarding address its 1000 usd just for shipping via air freight and even if I get a forwarding company that uses sea freight at cheapest cost to bypass ridiculous Air freight my next hurdle is spending limit on credit card here is 600 to 800 usd a month if you can even get lucky enough to get a credit card because there is lack of forex and most business close down due to not having the availability to get usd to shop for goods so after spending a month or more going to every shipping agent and finally getting one to ship it to me Al low cost my last hurdle is there payment options only allow for pay pal and credit card which nun are available to me due to geographical locations and limitations and unlike most other companies that accept Western union or bank transfers they don't 😞 my depression is real

      Wow, that’s an incredible situation! I’m sorry that shipping costs are that high, I know with large battery packs it’s an insane amount of money to ship.
