The "Safest place in India" scene was copied from Johny English. The whole movie is a compilation of scenes copied from different Hollywood movies. In my childhood I used to think this was creative. I found out later that I was wrong.

Dhamaal", a successful comedy, has its own list of inspirations given below :
A. It is loosely based on "Its A Mad Mad Mad World" (1963) where many groups are heading towards a hidden money bank.
B. The opening scene of Ritesh Deshmukh is a straight lift from Rowan Atkinsons's (Mr. Bean), "Johny English" (2003) in which Atkinson is also a detective. The original movie too used this sequence as the teaser trailer of their film.
C. The opening sequence of Javed Jaffery, when he gets his hand stuck in the back pocket of another person, is an "as it is" copy from one of the episodes of famous T.V. Serial "Mr. Bean" (1990).
D. The sequence where all four boys are trying to cross the bridge with a car is taken from movie “Road Trip” (2000).
E. And the climax where accidentally, all the money has to be given in Charity on a stage show is ripped from the climax of “Rat Race” (2001) straight away.
And who knows how many more Hollywood movies ''inspired" it but keeping all that in mind This is a very well received comedy movie in India. Over the time Dhamaal has been regarded as a cult comedy film of Bollywood the film was also remade on 2008 kannada movie named Mast Maja Maadi.

Definitely inspired ... but the movie as a whole is really entertaining, with 100% clean and pure comedy, watchable by family audience and kids too ... enjoyed in 2007 as a teenager myself ... and even now in 2023 (at age 29) it's equally hilarious for me 😎
Unfortunately Bollywood's comedy standard these days are not at all upto the mark 🙄

Devansh Das well India does not have many worthy enough comedies to watch, at least for me it was put together really well, the character of Javed Jaffery is absolutely brilliant!

This film had scenes from many different Hollywood films. Like the airplane one from It's a mad mad mad mad world. And then the car jump scene from Road Trip.
But these were put together in such a way that they simply make one laugh his time away.

This movie is like 'the mad mad mad mad world' as you described it. It is all about finding movie hidden under a big W(X in case if TMMMMW). But its an awesome comedy movie

It is directly inspired by the mad mad world. this movie has the treasure under the W in the garden too. Last half an hour is almost the same.
