I can't help but have the upmost respect for LD Bell. NOBODY else pushes the envelope difficulty-wise like they continuously do. If someone showed me the drill and music for this show before the season started and told me a high school band would be performing it, I would've laughed at them. But this band performed it and performed it at an extremely high level. They're just wonderful.
That was a great show, I'm just so blessed to be a part of it! Just goes to show you that hard work really pays off! Can't wait for next year! Let's go Bell!
well at different competitions, our band has marched 1A as well, and we won best in class, but for uil standards, we are supposed to live up to the standards set by these bands with trumpet sections larger than our entire band.
It is not only numbers. I did not march in TX but my band would have been in the 1A. But we competed in BOA and beat bands of this size with only 26 horns (50 total members). We also won best overall guard two years in a row at a BOA regional. So small bands can compete.
I sat next to some members of this band while i was at BOA and let me tell you that they are the snobbiest, most full of them self creatures alive. -Marcus
***** Yes, you heard correctly. We made 5th place/alternate in the Area B UIL competition this weekend. Although we broke our 16 year streak of making it to state we still stood through the tears & clapped for every other band ahead of us, including Marcus in first place. So, I (personally) think that's far from snobby or self righteous. Awesomenes37
+Awesomenes37 wow, that is a heavy insult coming from what I guess is now the second most snobby, full of them self creatures on earth. Had people from your ensemble literally scoff at me when I extended a congratulations to them at retreat for BOASA that year....made it feel damn good beating you guys last year though
Ehh... this is actually one of my least favorite shows from L.D. Bell actually... Not that they did a bad job by any means, I'm just not a fan of the "lack of energy" that they normally have, for lack of a better term.

The performance was great and I'm proud of this band. I've watched them practice and train all summer long with 100% determination and dedication.

Are you being serious? Because they didn't make state this year from what I heard…

Even though I'm in Trinity band this was LD Bell best performance handsdown
That's how you know it's an LD Bell show
This show holds up surprisingly well. Dare I say it may have even been ahead of it’s time?
5:38, watch the kid on the bottom row, far right.. Nice move! That looks so crazy, you guys rock. Nut said
I'm going to this school next year be prepared for a tenor player
We will see y'all at contest this next year be prepared.
it sucks to be in a 5a band that can't compete with these kinds of bands just because of the numbers. we only have 70 total band members.
truly an outdoor performance ensemble
Are you in the band or guard?
Yea its a very obscure show
This Year!!!
It's called this bitter earth
at BOA? I did. The Woodlands.
What's the name of the orchestra song at the beginning?
What Band are you? I'm Cy-Fair HS so I think I will see you all again at Bands of America. ;)
