Therapist Reacts to War? by System of a Down

- Therapist analyzes the lyrics of War? by System of a Down to discuss how people often use rightness and wrongness as an excuse to try to gain power over others. There is a tendency to use morality as an excuse for violence, both interpersonally and globally and this song highlights that phenomenon.

P.L.U.C.K is another underrated song too.
That song is fantastic, seconded.
One of the coolest thing about P.L.U.C.K is how they got the name System Of A Down
Peehole too
P.L.U.C.K. is my favorite song from the first album
@@_-_-_mansher_-_-_3470All in a system. DOOOOOWN.
oh yes..."Sugar", "Spiders" and "War" were my first experiences with SOAD and I love them till today!
so so good!
Their self-titled album is really underappreciated, always getting an eclipse by the Toxicity album & I'm not happy about it 😥
@@sipenarekbecha7193 Preach!
One of my fav System songs
You should try Gojira. They tackle deep personal subjects. My favorite song is "The Way Of All Flesh", but something like "The Gift Of Guilt" would be a really good starting point for a therapist.
👍🏻

All the tears
@@KyleCollins-ny4em Yea that's a good one for a therapist. I would also recommend something like "Only Pain", which I believe is about how trying to controll everything in your life will only lead you to suffering, but "going with the flow" and accepting whatever comes is better. There are many others she could dive into as well.
"Where Dragons Dwell"(live version) is also probably good, but it may feel repetitive in a review.
Their very first music video. This one started it all. I think now only their latest one "Genocidal Humanoidz" is missing. And of course there a many great songs, beside their music videos as well.
Hearing "who victored over the Seljuks when the holy land was taken" in today's day and age just shows that the conflict around the middle east is not new whatsoever
I love the way you vibe with this properly heavy number. You rock !
Scars on Broadway are awesome as well. Basically SOAD without Serj after they split
yesss, she should do Till the End, it's a very emotional song
Guns are loaded 👀
Proper response...lol. ty for the reaction. Enjoyed it alot. ☘️🇺🇸
Well here you can see the first albums from SOAD are more rough. Later with Toxicity, Mesmerize and Hynotize you will get heavy raw moments, but they are polished. The first albums were REALLY raw and unfiltered. Serj growled often and the harmonies with Daron were not used that much.
If you want to get a good song for a Therapist, i would recommend Opeth. They are a great pick after TOOL, because they were influenced by them and an amazing progressiv metal band. They changed styles, riffs and created so many great songs i cant count them on one sitting. I would suggest "Harlequin Forest" for the absolut arrangement. If you want a beautiful ballad, i would suggest "Hope Leaves", but Opeth has so many masterpieces.
Who else wishes they had a therapist like this??? I have actually had one before, who always took interest in my life. She would even write notes of what I said to look up later. Wasn’t music related, more professional stuff. But still so cool! I will always love Marge.
awww team marge!! So glad you had this experience. thanks for being here! - T
For your next reaction I suggest System of a Down - Dreaming. The vocal tracks are insane and it has a very strong chorus, in my opinion one of their best songs.
As you're doing deep dives into bands, I NEED you to go down the Seether rabbit hole. Their music brought me through the toughest times of my life. Fine Again, Breakdown, Rise above this, the gift and the truth would be a good set to start with.
You need to release some merch that just has a collage of your facial expressions 🤣
Been listening to SOAD my entire life. Can't believe i have never heard this song before. Glad to listen for the first time with ya!
Weird. It's from their first album.
Btw it's not the studio version, that's the demo version of the song, the studio version (the audio) is different
Their debut album was my childhood
Listen to soil it has a deep meaning to the song
Yes!
Prison Song by SOAD is amazing too
"deer dance" is also a pretty awesome song and similar in theme. Except dealing with Domestic wars of protestors v police. But still super impactful! Love all these!
B side track, whenever you want to get back to the A side, Streamline, innervision, question, Forrest and hypnotize are some good places to start 😂
War is a great song, album version is better
I love your reactions so much. As someone who struggles with depression, your explanations are so meaningful. I hope I can swindle you into looking into Breaking Benjamin. I think that their song "Dear Agony" would be a great fit for your channel.
This song!
My December is a song needed to be delved into. Linkin Park, not their usual type song, but amazing.
Old school/Raw & guttural Serj makes for a fantastic reaction!
You should react to serj’s solo stuff like empty walls
Nightwish - ghost love score ( at Wacken)
Gotta hear the studio version. Sounds much better.
Praise the lord and pass the ammunition is a direct reference to the exodus song war is my shepherd that came out in 2004. I thought it was cool he said that. Unless this show was before 2004 then idk.
So damn good
Probably my fav SOAD song.
one of my fav soad songs fr
SOAD has many great songs!
I recommend "Panic Attack" by Dream Theater. The lyrics are based on the guitarist's experience with panic disorder, and the music _itself_ sounds like it's panicking.
absolutly agree! you'd have a lot to talk about here - absolute intense song
those first 2 albums are MASSIVE crushers of prolific musical output.... 2 albums full of songs you don't have to skip
I have another suggestion : suggestions
one band that will blow you away on your heart support journey is the (butterfly effect) they are gods to human thoughts and what we deal with..check there album
From a therapist to another.. got to listen to Shatter me by Lindsey sterling. There is a fear of letting go by I prevail.. somebody from Memphis may fire..
Oh yes! One of my favorites. Check Revenga please
I would love to see something from Katatonia. Like "For My Demons" or "Dispossession"
War? is definitely their heaviest song & to this day my absolute favorite song by them.🔥🤙
Darts, Mind Suite Pee are heavier

Taylor can you do Fiction by Avenged Sevenfold. Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan turned it into his band like 3 days before his untimely death. But the lyrics from Fiction leads me to believe he knew he was going to die. Plus it’s a beautiful song you would love it!
the first album is really heavy compared to later stuff
I dont listen to this album as much as i used to. But its hard to beat.
yup, THIS particular version really do sound HEAVIER than most of their songs, even from this song itself. (I know you'll confused, just in a simple explanation : this version are the demo of said song). Cool right ? 😎
I would love to see your reaction to Mydvayne - Dig
Early SOAD is HEAVY !!!!!!
You really, really should do Pushit by Tool, but do the version from the Salival Album. I'm really curious to see what a Therapist says about the journey in the song.
Please react to NF hate myself 🙏🙏🙏 its like looking inside of nf mindset about him self its so good
Please
You give me "fuel for thoughts"... I've been a "Metalhead" for 40 years or so... I've written lyrics for my bands... Most of the times it's just catharsis. You're angry at 4/10 in your life and your lyrics are 10/10 !! Shakespeare is just catharsis and it's great like that. But sometimes, someone sees more into it... Your vision gives me something to think about. I'm writing in our "company's journal" to relate our job to theoretical philosophy... I may use some of your points of views and try to transmit it... I'm going to donate to get yout opinion about either of the 2 songs from Whitechapel... I would prefer "I will find you", but "Anticure" is fine too. I have my opinion, but I won't say it... Anyway.. Nice job. Keep on going
The nail color is beautiful today!
LOL thank you sm
Damn. I like that better than the studio version.

Listen to jordan by complete please 🙏
I bought that album when I was 15, it changed my life. Many songs on that album were heavy, raw, and some were subdued, many both. This song is absolutely a parody of the war mind, they are criticizing that human "progress" seems to require human suffering. What people forget is the war many die from brings about, directly and indirectly, the social and scientific progress that has allowed us to conquer disease and natural predators and disasters. It suck that we trade incidental death for intentional death, but is it justice to let people die to the flu and the wolves just so we don't make bombs? Can individual human life be considered an investment in the species? Is it a net gain in human lifespan? human experience? Should we even try to quantify that or just hope that our species lasts long enough, one way or another, to one day we find a new motivation with a more appealing price tag?
and then when you point out simple thing like this to society you become either criminal or even enemy, is there an end to this?
React to psychonaut 4 to late to call an ambulance - out of the comments it was helpfull to many
