I play for andro and my equipment is:
Rubber- RASANTER V42 (both sides)
Blade - Treiber K - กีฬา
A “twiddle” is when a player turns the racket 180 degrees to change the forehand to the backhand side and vice versa. This is often done by players with very different rubbers on opposite sides of the racket. In this case, the twiddle is used because the player is using a rubber with a harder sponge on the forehand side (his black rubber), so he twiddles so that the red rubber, which is softer and springier, will be on the forehand instead. Since the ball is high after a lob, less spin is needed… and the red rubber should give the ball more speed. 8>)

Many years ago I was drawn against Liang Geliang, then also World No 3, in an open tournament. (I was pretty good, but not *that* sort of good :-) ) We'd been knocking up for about ten seconds, when he looked at me with a half-smile, having clearly appraised my skills very quickly! But I must say he was an absolute gentleman, letting me thrash around and get a few shots past him before very efficiently killing me! He could have made me look really silly, but he didn't. Great respect.

It is interesting (to me) how top players are so not in the slightest fooled by a snake, even a really good one. He was totally set up and ready for any spin Adam could put on it.
There are just levels in life. Realizing there are kids practically playing TT just out of the womb. They become the game. It's crazy, I love it but it's scary. ;)
It's because table tennis not a difficult sport to play,
If you have determination,
If you have the opportunity to train
You can be the best in it.
Meanwhile, in other sports like Badminton or Lawn Tennis, it's very tough to compete for the top.
In table tennis, the odds of sustaining critical injuries are very low to none
In Badminton, its just a matter of one mistake, and you can have ACL and end your professional career.
Also, its worth mentioning than in Table tennis,
A woman can play as equally good as a man.
In Badminton, you can never see that happening.
Pit the number 1 player of Men's against the number 1 player of women's and you'll certainly get a ratio score of 100: 10
But in Table tennis the score can get very tight, the woman can even win.
And another thing,
In table tennis,
You can be at the top even up to age 40 and beyond,
In other sports, once youce reach 30 or so, the body won't be able to cope playing against younger players,
This goes to show that stamina is one big factor in other sports,
But in TT, its not really much of a deal breaker.

But it doesn’t mean that top women players can compete with the top men in table tennis. Zhang Yining, GOAT level player, mentioned in an interview she played against China men’s team and they were way out of her league.
Some facts about table tennis, the average age of current top 20 male table tennis players is 26.95 while the number for tennis is 28.3, and there are more 30+ players in top 20 in tennis than TT. Which says age is also an important factor for elite pro TT players. One more proof is the year end NO. 1 players in last 20 years averaged out to 24.8 in TT and 26.1 in tennis.
An average person can get pretty good at table tennis after training. But being the best? There are thousands of pro players over the world, most of them have been trained for 10+ years. It requires that 1% inspiration - talent as well as some luck to stand out from the crowds.

In TT
If you let the 5th ranked women's singles player plays against the 5th ranked men's singles player,, you would definitely get a score ratio of 100:60 at least. (in favor of the male player)
But if you do that In Badminton.
There is no way the woman player can score 20/100.
Probably the best she can score is 10/100.
Also,
If you look into the world ranking of Badminton and Lawn Tennis,
All the TOP 10 players are at ages 20 to late 20s.
In table tennis,
You can be 30 plus, and still dominate the game.
This goes to show that TT IS NOT a physically demanding sport,
Yes, it requires a lot of practice and training,
But age is not your enemy in TT.
IN BADMINTON, even if you maintain the best training in the world, once you get caught up with you age,
You won't have much of a choice..
I don't care if you agree to this or not,
But this is undeniably a FACT.

Table tennis is LITERALLY one of the only few sports where a woman player can compete CLOSELY against a male opponent.
Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis, Soccer, Running, Swimming, Boxing, Skiing, Ice Skating, etc.
All these sports. MALE players can EASILY win against WOMEN'S player if you let them play against each gender.
BUT IN TABLE TENNIS,
The competition between a male and FEMALE player can get very CLOSE.
They clearly had fun with this, made me smile many times. This Lin dude seems like a super chill guy

I've only recently discovered this channel a few days ago and I've been binging like crazy. TBH I'm not a pong fanatic but I recently started playing on the kitchen table during lockdown. It's crazy how many little nuanced things that happen during a match that you don't really norltice. If he hadn't pointed out that twiddle, I would have never known.
BTW - Now I see why he gives himself a 7 point lead against pros.

I used to play TT Eight hours a day when I was young. I beat many arrogant Chinese in New York City back in the day. They forgot that TT is only a game. Later on I got a life and a job. I used to play in my sleep, so I slowed down my game. I still enjoy playing the game, but I lost my rating over the years. My rating wasn’t that great for a New Yorker, anyway, but I loved the game. Stay young slick! I enjoy watching! Thank you for sharing!
Adam is an artist, Gao Yuan is heavy a duty machine which can switch to play mode when job is done. Champions are so humble !

@@classicleon How was it an edge ball? It hit a table from one side and jumped to the other. I think it had hit an edge it would fly differently - would not jump so "logically". I think Lin mistimed the drop shot. This once again shows how hard is to drop shot in table tennis.
