@@Madlittlepixel Mad props to you and anyone else who got the reference lol. As silly as this may sounds Bad Dudes is Hands down my favorite video game of all time. I remember spending so much in the arcade!
I bought one, and it also had crap inside the screen. Took it apart and cleaned it. There's no SD-card slot or similar, just a glued chip, so you're stuck with the crappy games. It was fun for an hour...
Madlittlepixel, Great Review! Had me rollin'! Not at your misfortune, but at your commentary. I was jammin' out to that 3 second audio loop playing in the menu screen. My favorite part! vgv
Please do review of those miniature arcades. And thank you for again focusing on the d-pad and buttons, which to me are the most important elements of a handheld. Thanks for making videos and letting us peep them out, BOOM. Please never stop ending videos with "Boom"! It always sounds really friendly and funny
I got one for $12 new. For that, I wasn't too disappointed. I collect these types of things, and I mainly like it for how it looks. Bad Dudes works fine on mine. I do play with this a little, but not like some other handhelds I have.
Seriously brother, what do you expect from this company?? They sell this crap mostly in drug stores and stuff. Do you remember how much we hated getting toys from the drug store when we were kids? You could tell your relative bought that crap on the way to your party!! This stuff is the same. I bought one (foolishly) while drunk at staples last Christmas time and it went back the same day!! Yes, every once in a blue moon they do something right like the stand up minis and the pc man (expensive) handheld but for the most part the put out junk. Even their controllers and consoles are garbage, mostly.
I got 2 of their cabinets yesterday for Christmas, first one was a big data east one, came with 34 games with arcade roms, but bad emulation. However the Namco Museum one is actually really good. Has arcade roms AND good emulation, it's amazing.
1:33 There's four versions actually, I have a Pixel Player that's horizontal but it's red and has 308 games like the unit you reviewed though the menu music is different. There's also a mini console version that you plug into your TV and use a wireless controller. Bad Dudes works on mine though I think that's more between individual units than vertical ones VS horizontal ones. 11:57 The Data East ones came out first.
I've got one of these handhelds. The main complaint is with some of the bulk content that comes on it. A number are unplayable because they require buttons that the unit doesn't have.
Good Christmas they forgot to put bad dudes in your game! Anyone else get a bad dudes free experience with this thing? Close to 300 pieces of shovelware too and if I'm not mistaken the sound was off on heavy barrel. I used to own that game for the NES when I was younger. Good, night!
Lol I was walking in CVS and noticed a Bad Dudes picture out the corner of my eye. I had to do a double take, like I’m I really seeing Bad Dudes right now. I stopped and took a look at this thing. I almost got it just because Bad Dudes was one of my favorite games growing up. I’m so glad I didn’t get it after watching this
Huhuh! He said "stiff d-pad." Any time I've ever seen a My Arcade product it's always looked pretty cheap. I do have the Galaga cabinet in my Amazon cart, but I'm mostly just going to use it for decoration, since I have the game on my PS4, my Switch (Namco Arcade Pac), my NES Classic, and my Game Boy. I'll definitely check out the video if you do it though. It looks cute, but I really wouldn't use it for anything unless I was building some kind of shadow box, and even if I did, I'd probably buy something more iconic like a junker Game Boy. Also can we cut that shit out with AAA batteries? My crappy $20 cell phone has a rechargable battery, my knockoff Bitt Boy has a rechargeable battery, and THE FREAKIN' AT GAMES HANDHELDS HAVE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES!!! If they can do it, you can too My Arcade.
All these things are just low-effort cash grabs by entrepreneurs that see this as their golden ticket to 'break' into the games industry. There is a retro gravy train going on now that they have figured out that tons of opensource emulators exist and there is literally $0 cost of development required to make a quick licensing deal and pump out some cheap $5 Android SoC bought from a Chinese factory somewhere. They ransack Github looking for open source emulators (licensing compatible with commercial activities or not), they take them either by consent of the author or not bothering to contact them at all, and then just make a quick licensing deal with whatever company is willing to lend them their back catalogue for a few bucks. It's easy profit and it's unfortunately reflected in the quality of a lot of these products, and unfortunately emulator authors have zero recourse to actually be able to push back against usage of their software that they don't approve of or to have their own products that would actually exude some quality, it's done by a bunch of entrepreneurs that frankly don't give a damn, likely have never even played the old games to begin with, and just want to make some quick cash as well as being able to climb that corporate ladder. Also, these same entrepreneurs don't cut a cheque with anybody of course, all the software is just taken, zero pennies are paid upstream. It's cashgrabism and exploitation, and unfortunately these open source licenses that were written decades ago have holes big enough to drive a truck through so that you really don't have a leg to stand on from that regard - it might have been a mistake in that regard for this entire software industry to have so many libertarian corporatism-leaning licenses like MIT/BSD, and even GPL is pretty much useless in terms of discouraging bad practice. There are very few companies that are actually doing anything noble here, it's mostly just 'take emulator from the Internet, make quick licensing deal for peanuts and pump out products on the cheap'. The managers don't care, the 'contractors' certainly don't care, it's a joke at the expense of the buyer.
Right, except one thing -- this company is not new to the industry! "dreamGEAR" among other names and they have been putting out the same crap for years, maybe 15 years.
I got one of these. The version of Burger Time on the package was different than the game included. My screen was also scratched. I payed $30. Return time! I'm gonna get store credit and get 10 pounds of gummi bears!
Have you played though the shovelware games yet? I have an earlier My Arcade device and found that 60 or so of the games are rom hacked NES games. Just curious if they are still putting the rom hacks in.
The only reason I prefer the usb on top is because its easier to play that way when plugged in. Lesson learned from the Dreamcast controller, and the cord never stayed in the cord keeper.
I stick to real portable MAME emulator handheld consoles as the new option because it is something everyone wants to play the real arcade games instead of this. How difficult is that?
When you charge it through the Micro Usb does the system have an internal battery or does it have to be plugged in at all time when using it? I know it has the option for adding batteries but does it also have an internal battery where you can charge it like lets say a phone for example?
i got interesting those type of consoles called Q3. looks like a retromini but is only a famiclone. 500 in 1 game- some are repetitive. but this can be expected. has a nice screen and controls are nice and working. i was trying to get that one. but Q3 came first and i like it. big problem is battery life. maybe 1 hour and is dead. a lot of god nes games. and extra simple games too.
What if it had the Sega Genesis/Saturn style d-pad? Would it help? Also they need to fix the software used to emulate the games on the system so all the games can actually load.
Weird that Bad Dudes doesn't work for you. I have that device and it works for me. For me it's a somewhat decent product but not worth the £30 it was sold for.
Is there another another plastic screen protector layer? I bought an Odroid-Go and thought I had a scratched screen. Showed my wife and she pulled a plastic screen protector off and no scratches on the screen.
This thing sucks so bad. I found mine on clearance at Staples for $5 and it’s not even worth that. You pretty much tell it how it is here. I’m just here to second your opinion.
I got one, but the problem is it won't turn off (something wrong with the switch or something), I have to take the batteries out when I want to turn it off
"To be honest, I've never seen them in Walmart, which is actually where I got this little unit" WTF?? makes no sense just fyi, I got mine at Walmart (not yet on clearance) for $18.
Obviously you werent listening to what I was talking about or showing on screen. When I said Id never seen it at Walmart I was clearly talking about the Pac-Man handheld not the unit I showcased here, hence why I said which is actually where I got this unit.
I dunno. I see a lot of TH-camrs review these kind of things with overwhelmingly negative reviews. Starting to think maybe the TH-camrs are keeping these guys in business.
I can see this thing really is crap especially since I saw some of the games you playing were actually the nes versions like Heavy Barrel and Burger Time. I bet Bad Dudes wouldn't work because it's the nes version and the emu on it is probably using an old emu that didn't support the game yet. I'm glad I leave these clones alone because looking a that gameboy knock off I can tell I would rage from trying to use it.
I kinda went crazy buying the arcade classic minis from walmart with the good lcds. Galaga is also my fav arcade game and the arcade classics version sucks. I really want the Galaga My Arcade version since it looks more legit as well as their pac-man. Not really interested in the My Arcade's pacman handheld you just reviewed cuz you can spend $20 or less and get the 35 yr anniversary version of pacman plugnplay with the joystick with like 8 other games including Galaga so they gotta step up a bit with these multigame handhelds. Not worth the $

comment of the year? XD
My Arcade also released wireless SNES Classic controllers. They actually work very well.
What we need is an MTV celebrity death match between My Arcade and AT Games.

Same here. That loop is a jam.
"$40 for 3 games...wtf" me: *spends $300 on a 1up arcade with 3 games*

Wow, you're really falling on the sword for us subscribers MLP! I commend you for the dedication! Much appreciated!
My arcade has a decent SNES classic controller that is shaped alittle like a mini playstation controller, I like it alot
I never had a problem, I love this thing, huge gamer as I am, I think this is the NBT

Yeah I remember them days! We'd always want the good stuff like Gi Joe,Transformers,He-Man,etc but the parents wanted to buy us them plastic army men!
my relatives give presents from the dollar store! They're so cheap ass.
It blows my mind because with their distribution reach, if they actually tried to do a great job it could be amazing
I got 2 of their cabinets yesterday for Christmas, first one was a big data east one, came with 34 games with arcade roms, but bad emulation. However the Namco Museum one is actually really good. Has arcade roms AND good emulation, it's amazing.
Got one for £10 today, only one on the cheap shelf just bought it for the sake of it, worth it just to look nice in my gaming cupboard
I saw these at work and was a bit tempted to buy one of these. But I wanna research before I do.

The Dig Dug isn't too bad, got mine for $10 before they threw it out at work. It seems like the best one in terms of quality which is a shame.
Quick question: is that the release with a rare Mappy ROM: Bounce?
I’ve had this since a kid and I really enjoyed it it’s sad to say people hate this

another good thing about my arcade
their controllers
NES ROMS....again?!? Just buy the 10 inch mini arcade from Data East.

thanks for another video love these look at retro things ill keep far away from this one

I wouldn't doubt a lot of it is hacked NES roms with different music/graphics.
i wanna see someone do a raspberry pie mod to that case (if you can find a non scratched one)
I wish they included data east roboCop.
Love how you don't get the real arcade Caveman Ninja but the NES version instead. What a pile of crap.
Not sure I'd I would expect much for what they are 25 dollars now
The only reason I prefer the usb on top is because its easier to play that way when plugged in. Lesson learned from the Dreamcast controller, and the cord never stayed in the cord keeper.
I have this one and i think its fun to play with
For things like this is why i prefer emulation
I have one of these and I actually like it a bit. I had no issues at ALL. It works perfectly and the screen is just fine for me
Hi dude nice video dude!
I think you just save me from wasting money on Amazon. Thank You.
I knew it, a pocket famiclone.
It seems to be a famiclone with junk on it other than the Data East games, which all seemed to be the NES versions.
I stick to real portable MAME emulator handheld consoles as the new option because it is something everyone wants to play the real arcade games instead of this. How difficult is that?

Looks like an aliexpress item remarked.
how is it this thing requires 4 batteries whereas the gameboy pocket a 20 yr old handheld only requires 2.
I know really. Some of these devices baffle me. Some of them for the price wishthey came with rechargeable batteries.

Another NES-On-A-Chip piece of crap it seems. I suppose the only thing MyArcade did right was getting the rights to those 8 Data East roms to use.
Their prices are disgusting for the quality provided. Hyper Mega Tech and Evercade is the way forward.
What if it had the Sega Genesis/Saturn style d-pad? Would it help? Also they need to fix the software used to emulate the games on the system so all the games can actually load.
Yeah that's a major fail. I won't touch that one with a 10ft pole!
That Rammstein tattoo... nice.
Has a youtuber ever said "I'll make a video on _____ if you want" and people watching said "nah, we're good..."?

Same
Well... In MY opinion i like MY ARCADE!
Same

Bad luck I guess lol. No clue why that wouldnt load... Weird.
@@Madlittlepixel I think you're right. To be fair you could easily play it on a better system anyway.

They're like $14 on ebay these days. Still haven't bought one though.
I bought 1 yesterxay at Rosss department stote and the bad dudes on game system works.

Are you bad enough to play Bad Dudes? Idk are you bad enough to be the My Arcade Pixel Classic?!
I guess you can't play SMB well with the A & B button layout. It's swapped and in an inverted angle too. I'll pass as well.
You have every Right to Return for a New un-scratched screen, i would, as it will annoy you
It's a bootleg handheld console it looks like a gameboy they should have done 150 games instead of 300 games
believe it or not i got the other galaxy my arcade console for $5 on clearance !!!
I just got it yes day for $24 here in Canada the long one i think its great
Plus, it DOESN'T HAVE Mr. Balls!
walmart has a new my life toys arcade machine that is bigger then the tiny ones
That looks like a waste of money.
